Well let's look at the below:

It seems he did. Here it is again from this thread: http://christianchat.com/bible-discussion-forum/153638-1-corinth-5-brother-lets-get-into.html

2 Corinthians 2
[SUP]6 [/SUP]This punishment which was inflicted by the majority is sufficient for such a man, [SUP]7 [/SUP]so that, on the contrary, you ought rather to forgive and comfort him, lest perhaps such a one be swallowed up with too much sorrow. [SUP]8 [/SUP]Therefore I urge you to reaffirm your love to him.

  • It seems the brother in 1 Corinthians 5 took the road of repentance (if we can infer from this passage that Paul received interim feedback from the church at Corinth about this man).
  • For we know the heart of the Lord, and He desires mercy and not sacrifice (Hosea 6v6; and Matthew 9v13 [SUP]13 [/SUP]But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy and not sacrifice.’[SUP][[/SUP][SUP]b[/SUP][SUP]][/SUP] For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.”
  • And if such repentance is granted by the Lord 2 Timothy 2v25-26 [SUP]25 [/SUP]in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth, [SUP]26 [/SUP]and that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil <also see Hebrews 12v1>, having been taken captive by him to do his will <also see Romans 6v16>.
  • And the corresponding response to the Church is to welcome this one back in love and forgiveness. It is always predicated on repentance, and never an overlooking of the sin.

There is no evidence to the bolded above...the IF WE CAN INFER is a MOOT POINT and regardless....the 1st statement made by PAUL conserning what to do and the results ARE NOT INDICATIVE of anything found in the 2nd letter...

YOU take the cake for stretching and applying deceit to make your points.....

Deceit is also in there with malice, envy, slandering others in the body of Christ. These are all works of the flesh.

There is a massive difference between church discipline to protect the people and the Lord sending you to hell as can be seen by the letter Paul said to the 1 Corinthians.

Paul told them who they were in Christ...then corrected their behavior...he didn't say you were all unsaved now or that because they were sinning that they were not born of God like some people try to teach and that they were going to Hell.

Paul never said that their Father that loves them dearly is going to send His beloved children to hell even thought he blood of Jesus has taken away the sin of the world.

( without understanding the new creation in Christ - this "sinning" part will throw people off because they don't understand what is being done by giving in to the flesh and what the new man is Christ really is. )

Paul told them who they were in Christ
...
Here are 7 things that Paul confirmed as truth in the believers in Corinth before he went on to correct their behavior.

1)
The Corinthians have been sanctified in Christ Jesus,

2) The Corinthians were now
saints by calling

3)
The Corinthians in everything were enriched in Him,

4)The Corinthians had
the testimony concerning Christ was confirmed in them,

5) The Corinthians had
that God will also confirm them to the end, blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ

6)The Corinthians had that it was by Gods doing that we are in Christ ( Not our own D.I.Y. self-righteousness and holiness
)

7) That because the Corinthians were in Christ - Christ Himself became to them wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption

1 Corinthians 1:1-9 (NASB)
[SUP]1 [/SUP] Paul, called as an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Sosthenes our brother,
[SUP]2 [/SUP] To the church of God which is at Corinth, to those who have been sanctified in Christ Jesus, saints by calling, with all who in every place call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, their Lord and ours:

[SUP]3 [/SUP] Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

[SUP]4 [/SUP] I thank my God always concerning you for the grace of God which was given you in Christ Jesus,

[SUP]5 [/SUP] that in everything you were enriched in Him, in all speech and all knowledge,

[SUP]6 [/SUP] even as the testimony concerning Christ was confirmed in you,
[SUP]7 [/SUP] so that you are not lacking in any gift, awaiting eagerly the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ,

[SUP]8 [/SUP] who will also confirm you to the end, blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

[SUP]9 [/SUP] God is faithful, through whom you were called into fellowship with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

1 Corinthians 1:30 (NASB)
[SUP]30 [/SUP] But by His doing you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption,

Preach and teach the grace of Christ as it is the only thing that teaches us how to live godly in this world. Titus 2:11-12. The word of His grace is the only thing that is able to build us up and that gives us the inheritance that is ours in Christ. Acts 20:32

Chris1975 - can a Christian that has frequent outbursts of anger enter into heaven?

Can a Christian that has over eaten most of their life ( which is a form of lasciviousness which means without restraint ) enter into heaven if they died tonight?

Can a Christian that has envy over someone else that has a nicer car then he does - enter into heaven?

Can a Christian that causes strife and division enter into heaven?

These are all works of the flesh and in the same lists as the immoral homosexual living person. NO one is condoning any type of sinning as it all brings destruction of some form into our lives which is why we preach Christ and Him crucified and we too were crucified with Him on the cross and raised in His resurrection.

Our loving Father does not send His children to hell because of the flesh. If that was the case - no Christian would be in heaven.

Our Father will chastise His children and bring about repentance to all of us in whatever area we need it. Your religion of our loving Fahter sending His children to hell is the main reason why the church is in the mess that it is.

I encourage you to preach the true gospel of the grace of God in Christ's finished work on the cross and resurrection and then the Christians will have a proper foundation in Christ in order to grow. Your religion is a very poor substitute for knowing our Father and Lord for who they truly are.

I also encourage you to ask the Lord to show you His real gospel and it will bring true deliverance not only to you but to those you come in contact with. He will be faithful to you....:)
So you avoided answering the question then? Let me rephrase in exactly the same way.

Can a practicing homosexual Christian enter heaven? A "Yes" or "No" answer please?

No need to muddy this like you are attempting to do. We keep it only on this topic for purposes of example.

I believe that the Holy Spirit knew what He was doing when He had Paul write 1 Corinthians.

Some of them were going to temple prostitutes for sex, they were taking each other to court, they were in divisions and strife, they were not treating the poor amongst them right...etc.

Paul was saying that those in Corinth were acting like mere men and men of flesh - in other words not being spiritually minded.

1 Corinthians 3:1-4 (NASB)
[SUP]1 [/SUP]
And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual men, but as to men of flesh, as to infants in Christ.

[SUP]2 [/SUP]
I gave you milk to drink, not solid food; for you were not yet able to receive it. Indeed, even now you are not yet able,

[SUP]3 [/SUP]
for you are still fleshly. For since there is jealousy and strife among you, are you not fleshly, and are you not walking like mere men?

[SUP]4 [/SUP] For when one says, "I am of Paul," and another, "I am of Apollos," are you not mere men?

I noticed that in verse 1 Paul says that they are "babes in Christ".

- not that the Corinthians are going to hell because you are sinning.
Or that because they were sinning - that they are not born of God.

Some people's religion has our loving Father sending "babes in Christ " to hell because they are "fleshly" ( verse 3 above ). What a horrid false doctrine from the very pit of hell.

Zechariah 1
1 In the eighth month of the second year of Darius, the word of the Lord came to Zechariah the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo the prophet, saying, [SUP]2 [/SUP]“The Lord has been very angry with your fathers. [SUP]3 [/SUP]Therefore say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts: “Return to Me,” says the Lord of hosts, “and I will return to you,” says the Lord of hosts. [SUP]4 [/SUP]“Do not be like your fathers, to whom the former prophets preached, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts: “Turn now from your evil ways and your evil deeds.”’ But they did not hear nor heed Me,” says the Lord.

[SUP]5 [/SUP]“Your fathers, where are they?
And the prophets, do they live forever?
[SUP]6 [/SUP]Yet surely My words and My statutes,
Which I commanded My servants the prophets,
Did they not overtake your fathers?

I have answered - Yes of course a Christian that has the flesh still controlling him because he is a babe in Christ will go to heaven. ( they might get there faster if they get AIDS ) Salvation is based on Christ 's work - we don't save ourselves.

Now answer my questions. Let's take your religion for a test run to see how many Christians it condemns to hell even though the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ bought for us eternal redemption. Heb. 9:12.

Romans 2
[SUP]4 [/SUP]Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance? [SUP]5 [/SUP]But in accordance with your hardness and your impenitent heart you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God, [SUP]6 [/SUP]who “will render to each one according to his deeds”:[SUP][a][/SUP] [SUP]7 [/SUP]eternal life to those who by patient continuance in doing good seek for glory, honor, and immortality; [SUP]8 [/SUP]but to those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousnessindignation and wrath, [SUP]9 [/SUP]tribulation and anguish, on every soul of man who does evil, of the Jew first and also of the Greek; [SUP]10 [/SUP]but glory, honor, and peace to everyone who works what is good, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. In order to keep at bay any attempts at deception and deceit - I will post this again for about the 10th time in the hope that it will be a blessing to someone who is struggling in their Christian life.

Personally I am vehemently against all forms of sinning as they all bring destruction of some sort to us while on this earth - especially the one of unbelief in Christ's finished work on the cross.

I don't see any difference in sinning by living a homosexual lifestyle to having malice, bitterness, being deceitful and the slandering of others in the body of Christ. Both, as well as all the works of the flesh bring about death to us in this life.

Here is my view on sin and it's affects on us and on how the Holy Spirit transforms us as we behold the glory ( goodness ) of our Lord as in a mirror. 2 Cor. 3:17-18

Sin changes our perspective on things and causes us to not look at our Father in the right light of who He truly is. ( The same as Adam and Eve did when they hid from Him even though He was still coming to visit with them and He still took care of them )

Sin also affects our ability to have harmonious relationships with others and it also distorts our view of others as well as ourselves. Sin is deceitful.

We chose to live holy lives because we are just being who we truly are in Christ - not to maintain right standing with God. This living good holy lives creates right relationships with people, it will not give our enemy an influence in our lives and it is a good witness to the world.

It reveals the true heart of our loving Father and Lord to show others in this hurt and dying world their love and grace towards them.

Your true identity is not defined by your struggles, mistakes, or sinful actions. These are all confined to the flesh and are the works of the flesh as Paul said. Who you are is defined by your new birth in Christ. You are who you are by His grace and life in you!

Behavioral issues are usually the result of trying to live under the law in some form - such as the false doctrine of "sinless perfection in the flesh".

It is all self-righteousness and denies the righteousness of God in Christ. The law is the strength of sin. The law was brought in so that sin would increase and show that we need a Savior!

Once you understand you are completely accepted and sin free forever in Jesus in your inner man created in righteousness and holiness - and that this is your permanent state for all eternity in Christ - the behavioral issues will fall off of our lives like dead leaves.

The "sap" of His life in and through us transforms us outwardly by the Holy Spirit as we behold the glory ( goodness ) of the Lord Jesus as in a mirror. We see all the goodness that He has already done for us and we also see ourselves in Him as one spirit with the Lord. 2 Cor. 3:17-18

I maintain that the preaching and teaching of the love and grace of God in the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ brings true righteousness which is His alone and there will be deeds of His life manifested in us if we are fed Christ Himself and His righteousness to us.

He has cleansed our hearts by faith and now we are to walk from this new heart in Christ.

As we have received Him - so we walk in Him. Col. 2:6. It is all by grace through faith in what Christ has already done.

LoveGodForever,,

I am still unclear, but we agree that we do not return to the law and neither is faith believing the law.
Let me say is another way since we know Paul must be consistent in his teachings.
Paul continually putting the law, faith, grace and sin in context within the new covenant faith. Every part has to be understood within the larger picture of the new covenant and Paul’ teaching on grace, faith and being made righteous.

He says….."The law is not of faith." Galatians 3:12

Romans 14:23 says, "...whatsoever is not of faith is sin,"

It is so interesting that Paul contrasts faith and sin, a statement which would have been blasphemy to the legalistic Jews, just as it is to legalistic Christians today.

It is sin for the New Testament believer to try to relate to God by attempting to keep the Old Testament law.
The law itself is not sin (Rom. 7:7).

But it is sin to try to use the law for justification with God. This was never the purpose of the law.

Under the law a person got what he deserved. Under faith, the New Testament believer receives grace because of what Jesus did for him.

Any departure from faith, especially a departure back to the Old Testament law, voids the work of Christ (Gal. 2:21) and is the worst sin of all.

Only faith in Jesus Christ, (not faith in believing the law) has the key that unlocks the door to the law's harsh imprisonment of guilt and condemnation.
Hello Undergrace,

Thank you for your message and your thoughts. It is very clear as to what you have written above that you indeed do not understand the messages posted in 100 along with the 20 bible verses read in context by Jesus in message 111. This is where we need to be careful because God's people in the day of Jesus did not understand His Words either and this is why Jesus says....

"Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind. And some of the Pharisees which were with him heard these words, and said unto him, Are we blind also? Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth." (John 9:39-41)

We can not cherry pick the Word of God and take the parts we like and neglect the parts we don't like.....

"Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. They answered him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free? Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abides ever. If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. I know that ye are Abraham's seed; but ye seek to kill me, because my word hath no place in you. I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father. They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham. But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham. Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God. Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me. Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word. Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it." (John 8:31-44)

* Being His disciple is conditional on continuing in His Words
* Continuing in God's Word frees us from sin
* If we continue in our sins we will not come to God and we are not of God

In closing, if any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.

God Bless you

Wow....are you ever going to come alive when you discover the true gospel of the grace of God in Christ.

Christians are not "in the flesh" but "in the spirit" Your behavior medication false doctrine is what is keeping Christians in bondage to sinning. These are "positions" - either one is in the flesh ( unbeliever ) or one who has Christ in them - they are always "in the spirit".

Romans 8:1-10 (NASB)
[SUP]1 [/SUP]
Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

[SUP]2 [/SUP] For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death.

[SUP]3 [/SUP] For what the Law could not do, weak as it was through the flesh, God did: sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, He condemned sin in the flesh,

[SUP]4 [/SUP] so that the requirement of the Law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.

[SUP]5 [/SUP] For those who are according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.

[SUP]6 [/SUP] For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace,

[SUP]7 [/SUP] because the mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able to do so,

[SUP]8 [/SUP] and those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

[SUP]9 [/SUP] However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him.

[SUP]10 [/SUP] If Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, yet the spirit is alive because of righteousness.

We have to keep 2 aspects in mind when interpreting scriptures on salvation.

Works-based believers see the warning scriptures and "interpret" those to mean that one loses salvation as in going to be with the Lord for eternity.
They say that our loving Father who loves His children dearly will send them to hell because the are a baby Christian.

We should be admonished to listen to these warning scriptures but let's get the proper foundation in the Lord down first so that these warning scriptures will be put in their proper place.

This type of mindset does not know the love and grace of God for people and thus they develop a fear based religion of works "to keep one saved".

1 John 4:18-19 (NASB)
[SUP]18 [/SUP] There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love.

[SUP]19 [/SUP] We love, because He first loved us.

Salvation manifests itself here in this earth and also for going to be with the Lord because we are in Christ - sealed by the Holy Spirit when we believed as Paul said in Eph. 1:13 ; 4:30.

Start shooting heroin in your arms today and you will NOT experience salvation - that is life and wholeness on this earth for very long.

Confuse the 2 and we will come up with all kinds of works-based salvationists views - like we lose our righteousness. We don't have our "own" righteousness. Christ Himself is our righteousness.

I believe we have to differentiate between "going to heaven to be with the Lord " salvation and - "being saved from the things that can destroy us here while being on this earth."

There are different manifestations of salvation in Christ - one is going to be with the Lord because we are joined as one spirit with the Lord forever in the new creation - the other is concerning the things of this life on earth.

The promised land is a type of being in Christ now - it is not a type of heaven as there will be no giants to fight in heaven.

Moses did not get to rest in what God had already provided for the Israelites - but yet Moses is with God now.

The promised land is a type of living here on this earth by believing in the promises of God. Only Caleb and Joshua were the ones that got to experience the promises of God in the promised land because they believed in what God had said.

We can inherit now in this life some things that are of the kingdom of Godbecause the kingdom of God is within us...however if we don't have our minds renewed to the truth in Christ ( which includes living by the Spirit within us ) - we can not experience the things of the kingdom that are available to us believers.

Scripture uses the same Greek word - " salvation, saved
" = wholeness, preservation, keep safe, deliverance, make well - for bothbeing saved from things in this life and for going to be with the Lord for eternity.

If we don't understand this difference we will continually be mis-applying scriptures that talk about "being saved here in this life from things" and "going to be with the Lord when we leave this earth because we are joined as one spirit with Him".

There is eternal salvation and there is a manifestation of salvation from temporal things while on this earth. Confuse the two and we end up with a mixed up message of self-effort for going to heaven and only the blood of Jesus does that.

Jesus is either our Savior for going to be in heaven with Him or we are our own savior by helping Him. One is by grace through faith-righteousness - the other is works-righteousness.

Let's just rely on the Holy Spirit to reveal the things of Christ to us.

We are safe in the Lord Jesus Christ and we can trust Him to do what He has He will do and has already done for us.

We have a great salvation in Him!
We can trust the Lord when He said "I will never leave you nor forsake you!" Jesus said that the Holy Spirit ewill be in us forever. John 14:16

The proper teaching of the gospel of Christ and what He has already done for us will provide the "nutrients" for the new creation in Christ which has been created in righteousness and holiness to manifest His life in and through us - and yes this also shows in our behavior.

As we have received Christ our Lord - so we walk in Him - and it is all by grace through faith. Col. 2:6

His love which is in us will come forth and bear much fruit. The behavior is a "fruit of salvation" - it does not produce salvation. Only Christ Himself is our true salvation - it is "in Him".

My daughter was on a photo shoot of a wedding recently[she is a photographer] At the actual ceremony everyone were "Christians" the Pastor actually was given time to preach a short message and then married the couple. Lost of basic Christians truths were talked about in the ceremony, he closed the ceremony by giving an invitation of those who wanted to "get saved" to come down and do so. The whole wedding party and guests sang praise and worship music and everyone was praising God and loving him. Many stood up and gave testimonies how God loved them. The Bride and groom gave public testimony to their purity before marriage.

The ceremony ended and my daughter was taking pics and the profanity of both the groom and brides wedding parties was vulgar. The strife between families was out of bounds. The discord among guests was typical.

3 hours later at the reception, the whole wedding party and guests were so drunk and stoned from pot, it was unreal. Lustful dancing took place, then fights, then it was obvious cocaine started getting passed around. The bride was telling her friends how much sex she had with groom before marriage, so she was not going to have sex with him tonight, because they both agreed it was time to PAR-TAY down.

How many of these "Christians" are just mentally assenting and how many are in serious trouble if this life ran out?

I see this all to much today and narrow is the way.

Therefore a practicing homosexual, as evidenced by their behavior, are not in the Spirit. Therefore how could your answer to my question above be "Yes".
He knows you've got him whipped, so he's going to point the discussion elsewhere which basically means he has no problem with butt bumpers claiming to be Christians... he probably goes to thier weddings since he believes Christians can continually live in sin and still go to Heaven...

Here's one the false grace people provide freaky stories to try to explain away:

Hebrews 3:7-15
Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice,
Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness:
When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years.
Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways.
So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.)
Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.
But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
For we are made partakers of Christ,
IF we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;
While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.

They don't realize the Book of Hebrews was warning Jews that had gotten saved that if backslide and return to judism they will not be saved and the same goes for gentiles gentile believers who backslide and return to living their old lives in sin they will not be saved

Of course they will claim this is not applicable to Christians and then turn right around and quote other things from Hebrews proving they are cherry pickers... if it doesn't fit in to their false grace narrative, they come up with these wild stories to try and explain it away as some how not being applicable to Christians... like politicians they speak with forked tongue

There numerous warnings such as this in the New Testament that false grace people ignore and claim is not for us today... they gonna find out the hard way that following a different jesus who teaches another gospel puts one on the highway to hell which is probably why some of their churches sing this song in church!

*This was Newspring Church, pastor Perry Noble a known false teacher who is in to false grace (cherry picker)

Perry Noble was a Baptist preacher who was removed/defrocked/fired by his elders at NewSpring in 2016 for alcohol problems, and less than a year later he is preaching again.
