Bernie Sanders, in his grilling of Russell Vought, President Donald Trump’s pick for deputy director of the Office of Management and Budget, seemed to want to apply a religious test for government office candidates - which is precluded by the Constitution. He also missed the obvious point, as did Vought (I think), that Islam professes a single way to "salvation" (paradise?) via Mohammed and the Koran - to the point of killing the infidels according to some radicals. It seems as though Christians are the only ones capable of bigotry but, given our fallen nature, all humans are capable of bigotry. I certainly would not rely on Sanders for theological explanations pertaining to Christianity or Islam. Search: Bernie Sanders religious test for articles from Christianity Today and The Atlantic.
