you are just so full of your own particular brand of what bulls do in the field
you resent the truth and in fact, don't seem to know it

is this thread about denying the power of God?
I'm not sure why you said these things
seems the op is scoffing at Christians who have the good sense to obey the word
you know, like burn a witch and even if she is your wife, do not mourn her
the OT speaks specifically on how we are to avoid the evil supernatural. problems start when people SEEK OUT the supernatural
Seek God. He is Spirit and if He wants someone to experience what is OF HIM, He will allow it
Paul tells us in the NT that we are not ignorant of the devil's schemes...well, people back then knew but the ignorance revealed in this thread and the desire to pursue the supernatural...portals...whatever...is NOT of God
and the all revealing ignorance of the op asking 'why are Christiains afraid of the supernatural?' is just another come on to discuss his favorite subject...forbidden territory for the Christian
I have liked Magenta's post because I can identify. I will also state that the op may possibly benefit from a dose of the real deal, but the devil does not reveal his real identity unless you start to object to your experiences that are not actually from God

So, would you say that most adults are "scared of" bills?
(Wait, maybe we are, never mind ;D )
LOL Good one! Actually we're not supposed to fear at all. Faith is trust in what God can do...Fear is trust in what Satan can do to us.
This is key to satan's plan. God offers the real thing, so satan fakes it by making people bark like dogs, and because of this Christians are afraid to embrace the real thing.
Score 1 for the losing team.
For that God has given the gift of discerning the Spirits.
It's a problem thats from beginning on when the pentecostal movement starts it seems that Satan was involved. Otherwise is no explaining why people screamed, Rolling on the flood and noising like animals in the meetings when they got the empowering with the Holy Spirit.
If they got the empowering with the Holy Spirit and not something else.
We should not forget that Jesus said that many will come with signs and miracles to deceive the believers. (Matthew 24, 24) An if we see today in the pentecostal ore charismatic movements we find many who teach false things and giving false prophecy. And the people follow them. And those which warnes about this things will be ignored ore called unbeliever. Why you wonder that christians afraid about supernatural?

Demons and devils and spooks O my......
First off you have no power , even the angel michael said "the lord rebuke you".
Jesus said ..I talk to you about earthly things and you do not understand, how much more would you understand heavenly things?
Very dangerous thread here. Are you that much of a threat to satan that he needs to come against you? Perhaps some are but not all.
There is no power but of Gods. Once you understand this the better you will be.
Why would you use term supernatural if your living in the kingdom? This should be the norm. Walking in the spirit and doing his will. Where God leds God provides. By saying you have power then all glory goes to you, but as we see in the ministry of jesus many went away praising God. Jesus says he only does what the father tells him to do.
Being in the kingdom and in Christ you stand in the place of authority but you dont run around with power like little fire balls coming out of your finger tips.
Greater is "He" that is in me than he of the world. I can do all things through "Christ" that strenthens me.
Let every soul be subject to higher power for there is no power but of Gods. you in yourselves can do nothing.

The only time Satan can come against you is if God gives him permission [Book of Job] The word of Faith and now the the word of grace movements will disagree with this, because God would not let the enemy do anything agaisnt his "kids"
Many cannot discern between God refining them and a true demonic wrestling match.
Afraid of the supernatural? No, I think that most Christians believe in the supernatural after all god himself is of the supernatural.
Also we do not live in a supernatural world, There exists two planes in our existence the natural and the supernatural the physical and the spiritual the seen and the unseen.
We ourselves live walk and see in the physical realm however the spiritual realm while being very far away is also closer than our nose is to our face and some are able to see into the veil to an extent those who have encountered spiritual beings or have seen visions know what I am talking about.
However there really must be discernment especially when your calling something supernatural, anyone call something bad happening to them as a spiritual attack but for the most part it's cause and effect it's mainly the results of our own actions or the actions of others. Believe me we don't need the devils help for things to happen to us we are plenty good at causing them to happen to ourselves.
I honestly cannot stress this enough discernment is greatly needed, it's like with bible prophecy not just anyone can handle meat as thick as bible prophecy and in the same way not everyone can handle discerning the supernatural. there is a balance that is needed in discerning the supernatural, one must look at things logically as well as spiritually because if you only look at things with one or the other alone then you have either a spiritual nutcase who thinks everything is supernatural and gives into their own imaginations or you have a person who completely discards anything supernatural at all.
I experience the supernatural all the time but i also have learned that we have to look at things logically as well i mean God is the creator of logic is he not? For instance I have dreams from God sometimes and people who have dreams from god could easily begin to think any dream they have is from him I have seen many make this mistake but I also know how the human brain works especially with dreams. Certain foods can make one have bizarre dreams and certain medicine can give one some very trippy dreams as well that doesn't mean it's from God.
Also what we think about and watch can greatly alter our dreams as well, if you watch a horror movie about demons and you go to sleep you are likely to have a dream about such, if you are constantly thinking of the supernatural it's likely that your mind will dream about the supernatural.
