Modern women are horrible. I find it staggering that men don't beat sense in to women any more.

What kind of chauvinistic manure this is! Truly written by one who calls himself a man, but is probably to weak to stand as one. While I agree that there are ugly spirited feminists out there who would like nothing more that erase every man off the planet, I have to disagree that all women are like that. Good post. We are definitely to be patient and loving. We have to remember that these women in scripture were biblical and not modern day career superwomen femininsts who don't need no man but love alimony. Concerning "giving honor" I take this to mean looking out for, to guide and care for. I don't believe the women of the bible were anything like the women here.

I believe giving honor to wives as to a weaker vessel means no hitting them nor offending them in return.

So as you say, we are to have patience and love our wives in Christ in that way as He is patient and loving towards us.

I am not married, but I do put my trust in the Lord as my Good Shepherd to help me follow Him even if I had an abusive wife since He carried me through so many situations with my offensive bosses & equally offensive fellow associates. I thank the Lord Jesus Christ for that as He is keeping my confidence in Him to carry me through any other offenses coming my way.

It should be noted that God has used women in outreach ministry and so they are allowed to post in christian forums.

But it is time to discern with the Lord in according to His words why women are commanded not to speak in church. The importance of this should add another line of discernment as to why His gift of tongues would not be manifested in women in church.

I get the reference that because Adam was created first before Eve, and since he heard the commandment not to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, whereas after Eve was created, she heard that commandment from Adam, man was to receive the word of God first and pass it on to the women. The fault in the fall of man was that man listened to the woman as referenced above.

Again, we get that referenced below as being a commandment from the Lord.

Why was it a commandment since the fall? God said so.

That is the order and decency of things as to why the Lord commanded women not to speak in church.

And since that is His commandment, then that is NOT the Holy Spirit manifesting tongues without interpretation in women in church. God does not break His own commandment. That is another line of discernment for tongue speakers, both male and female that defends tongues without interpretation, to take it to Jesus at that throne of grace and pray normally, asking for wisdom & discernment over this tongue which comes with no interpretation.

Again, as a reminder, God uses women in outreach ministry and as missionaries & so they are allowed to edify in christian forums. May God cause the increase this day.

What I find hurtful about beatings....I was raised in a family that did not give verbal instruction, until after the beating, as if I was suppose to know everything already. I even obeyed, and got beatings. My mother would tell us younger kids, as she was a single mother "Listen to your older brother, or you will get it!" My brother would lead us into sinning by commandment, and with "You heard what mom said!" Than when she got hold of what we did, we got beat. Than she noticed whippings was not effecting some of the kids (They would laugh), so she started smashing all of us younger kid's heads together, or against walls. She even put knives to my throat, and threaten to kill me or us. It drove me to rebellion, not correction!

I'm sorry, Zen... I don't care how many scriptures of a rod you post. I can post more about love. Love isn't hitting someone to change their behaviour, love is kindness and love is nurturing. Modern women, as you say, aren't going to change by a broken nose or black eye. They will change from their husband's love.
