"How by our own power we can do nothing good"
Learn to read whole sentences..,it would make your life easier.
We do good by the empowerment of the Holy spirit.
******Wow,, peterjens
you don't know the power and responsibility that comes with being a messenger and Ambassador, do you?
1. You have to get your message right for you are representing the King of kings,2. You have diplomatic immunity.3, I said Father king, thus I know I am a child of God. Even if you don't agree.4, you should live godly lives because again.., you are representing the most High God.

Hi Ariel, your back I thought you disappeared for a moment. Are you able to answer my questions now?

1. Do you know what a High Sabbath is? (John 19:31)

2. What is an annual Sabbaths that is connected to feast days that do not even fall on the 7th Day of the week (Lev 23)?

3. Did you know all of the above are not referring to God's 4th commandment (Ex 20:8-11) but are connected to annual feast days?

4. Did you know that these annual Sabbaths are also connected with New Moons, meat and drink offering and holy days? Funny how they all seem to fit so well with Col 2 in the new testament is talking about don't you think?

5. Where in the bible does it say that Jesus is our Sabbath?

6. Where does it say in the Bible we not longer need to keep God's 7th Day Sabbath a holy day?

If you cant answer these questions why don't you believe God's Word and why do you follow the traditions of man over the commandments of God? Something to think about.

God bless you

LGF, I answered your questions. You just can't seem to understand the answers. Not sure I can help you, perhaps you should pray and ask God to remove the veil that surrounds your reading of scriptures?

I will briefly answer again.

Yes I know the other Sabbaths and even added to your bet the Year of Jubilee. Which is a Sabbath as well. What you don't seem to understand is how the Sabbaths are a shadow of Chrsit and how Christ is the SUBSTANCE.

And yep gonna be ghost for a while. Just hadn't left civilisation yet.

Hello Ariel,

You haven't answered a single question. Are you telling the truth now? Here I will add them again please right your response under each question. Should not be too difficult if you have already answered them should it?

Here you go.... thanks

This thread is not about the Sabbath and you have no authority over me. When you can answer how they are shadows and Christ is the SUBSTANCE, I will take the time to discuss in detail each question you have about the Sabbath because you obviously seek some wisdom concerning them.

However without a foundation in Christ, you will never truly understand God's message about the Sabbaths and how HE CREATED THEM FOR MAN AND NOT MEN FOR THE SABBATH.

Everyone is waking and we are about to have breakfast, because believe it or,not....some of us have responsibility in the real world, but I will attempt again to give you scriptures. (until I have to leavd)

.perhaps you will read and pray and seek to learn instead of seeking to coerce and strong arm them to fit your preconceived notions.

Hello Ariel

I am happy to answer about the shadows that is why I asked you those questions. Wisdom comes from God that is where we need to find it. I always need wisdom because I lack it so I ask God. How about you? Who says we don't have any foundation in Christ? He is the Word and should always be everyone's foundation. If we are not building on the Rock then we are building on sifting sand and whatever we build there will be washed away. I build on the Rock how about you? I am always praying and seeking to learn. I ask God everyday. My questions are in relation to things you have said earlier in the thread about Shadows and Sabbath and that is all they are questions. Take your time.

God bless you :)

Yeah the last bit is a log in your own eye.
How do you keep the Sabbath?

I keep it by giving my life every day to God. Loving others and seeking to do His will. Praying unceasingky that I might shine his light and speak His words to others I trust him to give me my daily bread and protect me from my enemies. Even if I walk through the shadow of death,i fear no evil for God is my shield, my Rock and my comforter.

Each day I value as my Sabbath because my labors are done for love. I seek to free the captives by giving them live giving waters. I seek to heal the sick and wounded by offering them love and anything God has given me, I seek to give and use to bless others. Most of all I rest in the finished work of Christ for my salvation and work because God has honored me with His trust, power and love to give me the task I attempt to accomplish each day with His blessings and guidance.

What is so special about your Sabbath keeping that you can't do it every day?

Will you be like a Pharisee and condemn folks for doing God's work I and valuing each day as the Sabbath?

It's interesting how we use some scriptures out of context to try to make the Old Testament shadows that speak of Christ that they are the real substance.

Here is a classic one. Jesus had just heard the word of the Father which said "This is My Beloved Son , in whom I am well pleased". Then the tempter comes and challenges this truth.

Matthew 4:3-4 (NASB)
[SUP]3 [/SUP] And the tempter came and said to Him, "If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread."

[SUP]4 [/SUP] But He answered and said, "It is written, 'MAN SHALL NOT LIVE ON BREAD ALONE, BUT ON EVERY WORD THAT PROCEEDS OUT OF THE MOUTH OF GOD.'"THAT PROCEEDS = This is in the present tense in Greek

It is always the "Now" word that is proceeding from the mouth of God that we live by.

Jesus here was referring to what the Father had said concerning Him being a Son and He didn't have to prove anything that he was a Son - but just to "believe" what the Father has said about Him.

It is important to listen to the "now" word of God.

Isaac was happy that his father - Abraham listened to the "now" word of God and didn't sacrifice him on the altar that day.

There are those today that would have continued to sacrifice Isaac because God said to do it. We live by every word that proceeds out of His mouth - this is their motto. BUT they greatly err - because they miss the "now" word of God.

The law was a shadow of the real substance which is Christ Himself. NO amount of "Sabbath Keeping" can replace Him as our true Sabbath rest.

We need to be listening to the "now" word of Christ Himself. God has in these last days spoken unto us "by His Son." Hear Him only!

Notice that it is "
after" god spoke to us in many ways - that He has in these last days spoken to now by His Son - the Lord Jesus Christ.

Hebrews 1:1-2 (NASB)
[SUP]1 [/SUP] God,
after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways,

[SUP]2 [/SUP]
in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world.

People are free in Christ to observe the shadows of the Old Testament as they want but when a Judaizing spirit comes in to pervert the gospel by saying a Christian must observe the Sabbath day as outlined in the Old Testament or they are sinning and dis-obeying God.

- run from these as they are distorting and perverting the gospel of the grace of God in Christ.

Paul said that he didn't stand for this for one hour "so that" the truth of the gospel would remain with them.

I actually obey what God commands in the below verses and respect those who choose to honor the Sabbath as one day but I chose to honor it every day.

Romans 14
1As for the one who is weak in faith, welcome him, but not to quarrel over opinions. 2One person believes he may eat anything, while the weak person eats only vegetables. 3Let not the one who eats despise the one who abstains, and let not the one who abstains pass judgment on the one who eats, for God has welcomed him. 4Who are you to pass judgment on the servant of another? It is before his own mastera that he stands or falls. And he will be upheld, for the Lord is able to make him stand.

5One person esteems one day as better than another, while another esteems all days alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind. 6The one who observes the day, observes it in honor of the Lord. The one who eats, eats in honor of the Lord, since he gives thanks to God, while the one who abstains, abstains in honor of the Lord and gives thanks to God. 7For none of us lives to himself, and none of us dies to himself. 8For if we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord’s. 9For to this end Christ died and lived again, that he might be Lord both of the dead and of the living.

10Why do you pass judgment on your brother? Or you, why do you despise your brother? For we will all stand before the judgment seat of God; 1

That we will walk in communion with Him and in love with all.
wrong again. do actually read the Bible, or just believe what your pastor says??

John chapter 6- after feeding the 5000 and crossing the sea. the crowd followed Jesus and, in conversation, they asked Jesus " what shall we do, that we make work the work of God ( John 6 28 ) Jesus answered them " this is work of God, that you believe in whom he sent", ( John 6 29 ). then He went on to call Himself the Bread of life later in the chapter.

read the Bible peter, this is the Bible discussion forum, not the peterjens gives his opinions forum.

This statement was written with the video: Many people say that things like “I cannot repent” or “I’m trying to repent” thinking that they need a fully matured, perfect repentance before they can be saved. But we are not saved because we have a perfect repentance, but because we are weak and helpless and cast ourselves upon a perfect Saviour. We cannot expect to see the same depth of repentance from a babe in Christ as we would expect from a person who has walked with God for 30 years.

We are saved when we repent and believe the gospel. Beyond that, what I believe he was talking about in the video was in regards to the fruit of repentance and maturity. Believers trust in Christ for salvation, yet they do not always sufficiently trust in Him just to get them through the day or to deal with situations in the right manner (especially as babes in Christ). That comes with growth and maturity.

yes I know.

Will you be like a Pharisee and condemn folks for doing God's work I and valuing each day as the Sabbath?
Hi Ariel,

I have put your responses to my questions I asked you in red below (for easy tracking) with some comments underneath your answers in blue from me. It would be great if we can give our answers from God’s Word and not our own opinions. Only God’s Word matters not what we think.

1. Do you know what a High Sabbath is? (John 19:31)
yes I know.
If you know what a High Sabbath is could you please tell me what it is?

2. What is an annual Sabbaths that is connected to feast days that do not even fall on the 7th Day of the week (Lev 23)?
yes have they are in the Bible....
If you know what an annual Sabbath is could you please tell me what it is?

3. Did you know all of the above are not referring to God's 4th commandment (Ex 20:8-11) but are connected to annual feast days?

no when God says Sabbath..I take Him at His word and do you? Or do you try and twist it so you can make legalistic chains to enslave people?
I think you find it hard to answer this question because you do not know the answers to the first two questions. If I am wrong please forgive me and answer the questions above. I believe God and take him at his Word. You seem to be just accusing me of things I am not doing and you have not even answered any of the questions above.

4. Did you know that these annual Sabbaths are also connected with New Moons, meat and drink offering and holy days? Funny how they all seem to fit so well with Col 2 in the new testament is talking about don't you think?

I think it's funny that you fight against what God has revealed and don't know HOW JESUS IS THE SUBSTANCE TO THESE SHADOWS, yet you seek to teach.
Just telling me how funny I am does not answer the question above does it? Could you just answer the question and pray for me if you think there is something funny about me. I believe God is my teacher. How about you? You still have not answered any questions. Hope you can answer the questions from God’s Word?

5. Where in the bible does it say that Jesus is our Sabbath?

look through the thread I showed you where you just have a veil over your eyes and refuse to ask God to show you His truth about the topic.
This thread does not show me where it says in the Bible the Jesus is the Sabbath. I can only find scriptures in God’s Word that say that the Sabbath is the 7[SUP]th[/SUP] Day of the week, or the Sabbath is a day. Could you also answer this questions and show me in the Bible where it says that Jesus is our Sabbath and we no longer need to keep the 4[SUP]th[/SUP] commandment in God’s Law the 7[SUP]th[/SUP] Day Sabbath holy (Ex 20:8-11)?

6. Where does it say in the Bible we no longer need to keep God's 7th Day Sabbath a holy day?

when it says we can rest in Christ every day and make it holy or honor one day as a special memorial....ignoring those verses too?
I believe we can rest in Christ every day as well. Jesus tells us in His Word “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest (Matt 11:28). What is this rest and how do we get it? V29 “Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. (Matt 11:29). Our rest comes from spending time with Jesus and learning of him through His Word and following what He tells us to do. I do not ignore any of God’s Word how about you?

You still did not answer any of my questions at all so far including this one. Where in God’s Word does it say we no longer need to keep God’s 4[SUP]th[/SUP] commandment the 7[SUP]th[/SUP] Day Sabbath a holy day?

All of the above is great however you did not answer the question again. Where in God’s Word does it say we no longer need to keep God’s 4[SUP]th[/SUP] commandment the 7[SUP]th[/SUP] Day Sabbath a holy day?

What is so special about your Sabbath keeping that you can't do it every day?

The 7[SUP]th[/SUP] Day Sabbath is special because it is one of God’s 10 commandments and God himself gave it to us and asked us to keep it Holy to spend time with him, Jesus and the apostles kept the 7[SUP]th[/SUP] Day Sabbath is and Jesus is our example and we should follow him. He asks us to keep His Sabbath Holy in his Word. I believe God Ariel how about you?

Will you be like a Pharisee and condemn folks for doing God's work I and valuing each day as the Sabbath?

Jesus came to teach us that it is ok to do good on the Sabbath day (Mark 3:4; Luke 6:11) Do you believe Jesus Ariel?
If you can answer my questions above it would be great for us to share God’s Word together. I am not here to argue with you or call you names. I show you respect by answering your questions I hope you can answer mine with respect as well.

God bless you.

Here I have added the questions again so you can show me from God’s Word what they mean....
1. Do you know what a High Sabbath is and if so what is it? (John 19:31)

2. What is an annual Sabbaths that is connected to feast days that do not even fall on the 7th Day of the week (Lev 23)?

3. Did you know all of the above are not referring to God's 4th commandment (Ex 20:8-11) but are connected to annual feast days?

4. Did you know that these annual Sabbaths are also connected with New Moons, meat and drink offering and holy days? Funny how they all seem to fit so well with Col 2 in the New Testament is talking about don't you think?

5. Where in the bible does it say that Jesus is our Sabbath?

6. Where does it say in the Bible we no longer need to keep God's 7th Day Sabbath a holy day?

Its getting late my time but it would be great if we can share God's Word together what do you think?
