Amen,

And Jesus made that clear.
He also said, if you struggle and heavy laden, give me it and I will give you mine, it's light.

If memory serves me is he not interceding for us as well?

Amen, sin is no longer the issue between man and God, the issue is whether we believe Him or not.
To me this is non-sensical. Jesus speaks to me because He knew how to respond to people, how
to handle sin and work things through. The issue has always been to know Him and walk with Him
is to learn victory and love through this communion, but in love not legalism, in humbleness and
a broken life not pride and self confidence.

To say knowing someone like an old boys network is not a spiritual solution.

To me this is non-sensical.
Jesus paid the sin debt for the whole world. How is that nonsensical from a Christian perspective? Only those who reject the propitiatory shedding of Jesus' righteous blood as a covering for their sin pass into the second death. All else, those who believe on Him Whom God sent, pass from death to life ever after. That is the promise of God as borne out through the witness of God's revealed written Word, and the Living Word of God. It is not a license to sin.

I am ok with what I posted as I feel it reconciles what I believe.

Yes believe in him and you will be saved.

You reject the word, who was the beginning and through all who was created then you reject his sacrifice for sins.

I am not a Hebrew but who was the book of Hebrews written to?

What issue was the writer addressing?

He wasn't writing to the Gentiles.
The gentiles would have no idea a regard to the Law of Moses and it's reference to the O.T

To be honest the bible verses you have quoted above I don't quite get why.

Maybe you could expand for me .

Remember I am a simple man with simple thoughts.
Hebrews has nothing to do with what I posted.

YOU said we will ONLY be judged by our belief in Jesus.

NO.

Jesus demands obedience.
We are to obey HIS COMMANDMENTS.

I'm not going through them again.

If those reading along want to know Jesus, they should read what JESUS said.
Mathew 5 to 7 is a great start.

As far as Hebrews, it was not ONLY written for the Hebrews who were thinking of going back to the sacrificial system,
it was ALSO written to gentiles who might have been thinking of leaving the faith.

One cannot leave the light to go back into darkness because THIS is trampling on the Son of God.
THIS ALSO applies to Christians.

IF we are in the light, an go back into the darkness, we DO trample of the Son of God.
Hebrews 6:4-6

I've asked repeated times for a verse or two where Jesus said to ONLY BELIEVE IN HIM,
but I haven't gotten ONE so far.

Know why?

There AREN'T ANY.

There aren't any because Jesus did not come to earth to die on a cross so we could ONLY BELIEVE IN HIM and be saved.

NO.

He came here to set up His Kingdom.

You're either in it or out of it.

If you want to be in it, there are rules to be followed.

Hebrews 12:1
Hebrews 10:38-39
Hebrews 12:14
Hebrews 12:15-16
Hebrews 12:25
Hebrews 13:7

And let's not forget

Hebrews 9:14 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

14 how much more will the blood of Christ, who through [a]the eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

The blood of Christ will cleanse us from DEAD WORKS to SERVING THE LIVING GOD.

Nowhere in the N.T. do I read that we are not to serve and obey our Lord.

Thank God he set us free from the legalism that permeates most religions.....

He that believes on the Son is having everlasting life <--the simplicity found in Christ

as opposed to....

Pharisee(ism) <----RULES to be followed and obeyed in order to enter

Sin is no longer the issue, how profound really!!

Believing ...being fully persuaded in what He says is true, and He says He did it all, because He loved us so much and when we believe we are born again.

How God's heart must be grieved when we are not persuaded.

The believer has everlasting or eternal life

John 5:24: “Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

John 10:28: “And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.”

The believer is born of God

John 1:12-13: “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.”

Amen, sin is no longer the issue between man and God, the issue is whether we believe Him or not.

But you were responding to my post that I posted in response to Limey regarding Hebrews.

I was saying that willful sin was to reject the word and the word is Jesus, who was there from the beginning.

I have never ever said "Pray for forgiveness of sins then all is well, go and do what you want all is ok"
You know that.

My understanding is that the book of Hebrews was written to Hebrews.
Lers assume it was written to the Jews and the gentiles.
The Hebrews and the fall back of the law and its sacrificial system.
What fall back did the Gentiles have? No fall back.

Either way if both fall back they reject Jesus and his sacrifice for the atonement of sin.

Do you walk in the light all of time, 24/7?

If not have you not gone from the light to the darkness?

I would say no you haven't.
Now you yourself who I have know for a few years and knew my struggles and was open and honest with In my dark years.
You know I struggled, didn't go to church for a while but never lost faith in Jesus but wasn't walking accordingly.

You were kind, loving, gentle and made it quite plain that I wasn't lost or rejected Jesus.

Gentiles will go back to darkness at times, you know that.

And yes I do agree with you. Jesus has said If you love me you will keep my commandments.

Believe in me and you will be saved. Do the following help?

Acts 16:31

31 So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.”

Romans 10:9-13
9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. 13 For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Genuine belief produces works and obedience

You are a funny one indeed with all your accusations. The Words of God are my eyes and my ears, I see not and hear not except through His eyes and His ears. I judge not because His Word judges. By their fruits you shall know them. He that saith I know Him and keeps not His commandments is a liar and the truth is not in him (1 John 2:4)

Act 17:30
In times of this ignorance God winks at; but now commands all men every where to repent:

Heb 10:26-27
For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

Rev 14:12,
Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

Ok time for me to really sleep. Goodnight all
very thought provoking, most haven't come to grips with the fact that coming clean with God in repentance is a NT commandment...........
