Japanese food. Norwegian salmon sashimi and sushi. I also like some Mediterranean food like kebab or grilled meat and veggies. And also italian pasta.
Finally someone liking Norwegian food.... Although sashimi is far from a Norwegian dish, atleast the fish is. (Frying myself some nice meatballs Norwegian style)

Times like this make me wish I didn't live in some fly-over state in the middle of the US. The "foreign" food available here isn't really foreign. The Mexican food is Tex-Mex, the Chinese is Americanized. It's hard to find authentic ethnic dishes.

Thankfully I can see what food looks like in other countries when I watch TV. I can dream about someday having some of that good stuff. I think 40 years of eating boring American food just has me wishing for a change of pace.

ten days with American food, and it felt good to come home to Norway. I think it is sad to see that a basket of strawberries goes for the same price as a meal at McDonalds. Insane.

Any vegetarian East Indian, Thai, Lo Mein, Mexican, Vietnamese! Anything with lots of spice and vegetables, especially grown in my garden!
I LOVE Thai food too Angela. I order it almost everyday when I'm in the office. There's a really good thai restaurant near the place I work. I love Pad Thai, Stir-fried minced pork with Basil, ugh... makes me hungry.

Isn't that stuff spicy? The only food I liked that's close to Pakistani (I think) is shawarma.
Spicy depends on the region (or so I've been told). The stuff I get delivered to me by a friend is a toned-down version of Northern Indian biryani. It's toned down to make it "white people hot", otherwise, it's entirely too spicy for my delicate palette.

Are those frog legs? I've tried them once but don't remember what they taste like.
To me, frog's legs taste like many other amphibians/reptiles - very lean meat with no fat so the flavor disappears in the mouth very quickly, but the initial taste is kind of like white meat chicken...kind of, sort of.

I was looking at that picture eyeing the snails. I love snails. Heck, I love all welks. What a fantastic food.

We love some japchae, (a Korean dish) learned to make it at home and it's delicious!

Ah. I've never tried Biryani, although my friends always do. I find Indian food as well as Moroccan, too extreme for my tastebuds. I feel like eating so many things at once.

Oooh I've never tried this but it looks really good (after some googling). Must add this to my Korean food list to try.
It is really good!

This is how we make it. We use very thinly sliced ribeye and omit the spinach which basically is there for color and is so wilted and soggy that it detracts from the dish. But the flavor is delicious and it takes some prep time. Actually, it is better the next day after the flavors marry. We also add some thai dragon peppers for a little heat, some are green and add color. :)

I doubt I'm going to lose much sleep worrying about the cholesterol in welks when I eat them, at most, twice a year.

All good things in moderation, including moderation.

They're whelks, not welks, unless you're eating Lawrence. Maybe that's what you mean.

I feel the same about eating spicy food, and take a "challenge" on it once in a while. But some cowards concerned over another's manhood flip out about doing so and tell me how bad it is to eat it and that doing so is all about one's ego. :D ;)
