If I serve a beautifully grilled prime rib, with baked potato, sour cream, chives, a nice garden salad with bleu cheese dressing and garlic croutons to someone...
Does it really matter to that person if I tell them that the prime rib was grass fed, the potatoes came from Idaho, the sour cream comes from a dairy in VT, and the garden salad was harvested from my own personal organic garden?
Why not let them enjoy the meal? Why debate over the place setting? Whether or not I serve the meal on fine china or on a paper plate, whether or not I give them silverware or plastic utensils?
The meal is meant to be enjoyed. The meal is it's own nutrition. My speech or interaction does nothing to add to the flavor or nutrition of the meal.
The meal is knowledge. The meal is a warning.
All I am is a voice in the wilderness. A simple sign bearer holding up a sign that says, "Danger: Road Work Ahead", what more needs to be said?
Proceed with caution because there are pot-holes, and you could damage a tire or axle, and maybe the shock of hitting a bump might set off your air-bag, and might make you spill your McDonald's hot coffee all over yourself, and you may or may not drop your cell phone on the floor while you're texting as you drive?
There are a million (and one) things I could add or say, but I prefer to submit posts that I find interesting. Posts that can help others avoid the dangers of this existence (or lack thereof).
I've said this in the past...and I suggest all of you reading this take heed...
People have become so stinking drunk on their own opinions that their lives have become nothing more than a "what I think" argument/debate. What profit is there to debate and argue? To me, this is one of the worst forms of narcissism and does nothing to edify or uplift. It does nothing to warn or help. All the world has become narcissistic in the extreme. It's all about the I-God. I, Me, Myself. It's all about ME, ME, ME. Oh, you don't agree with ME? Well, that's fine. I don't ask people to agree with me. My reward is knowing that one out of one hundred of you may benefit. I'm not here to further a Jerry Springer debate forum. I'm here to impart knowledge and warnings, perhaps even a bit of spiritual enlightenment/wisdom that I've gleaned from my years of study.
So...that being said, I will close my mouth unless I have something intelligent, uplifting, edifying to add, or...if I have some personal understanding or perhaps even a semi non-alcoholic opinion to offer, I will give it. When I choose to speak, I will...and I have. Anything I say would be a distraction from the meal. I prefer to let people enjoy their meal, not talk through it. Nothing annoys me more than sitting down at a table to eat and have people talk through it, asking questions while you're trying to chew your food. I know there are those who like to chew their food and talk at the same time but I'm just about talked out in this life-time. Again, if I have something to say, that I feel needs to be said, I will say it.
Enjoy the meal!
Peace to you and all who read this.
