Rev 1:1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to show unto his servants things which must
shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:
I'll get back to you shortly on this...
LOL The Gilligan’s Island shortly?………. 3 hours turns into ten years and a million episodes later?
I think an interesting way to start is to look at why he signified the revelation in a book that we call Revelation . I think it would provide the poetic language of God to give us His spiritual understanding hid from the lostby and through the various parables
Rev 1:1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must
shortly come to pass; and he sent and
signified it by his angel unto his servant John:
Shortly come to pass (twinkling of the eye) is speaking from the perspective of the last day, the Lord ’s Day.(verse 10) I would offer it could be a picture of the end of time
The voice of the last trumpet
I was in the Spirit on the
Lord's day, and heard behind me
a great voice, as of a trumpet,
Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea. Rev 1:10
Same Lord’s day as Philippians below …called the day of Jesus Christ
Phi 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until
the day of Jesus Christ:
The same grace that began the good work in Titus . "The Lord’s day"
2Co 8:6 Insomuch that we desired Titus, that as
he had begun, so
he would also
finish in you the
same grace also.
