Hey Singles!
I'm guessing most of us would be pretty happy if we had a date set up for this weekend.
But for those of us who don't... While we're waiting on that special someone (or potential candidates to stalk ), let's talk about a part of dating that's REALLY crucial:
If you were to invite someone to a meal, WHAT would you be having?
I can readily admit that I was a much better (and more ambitious) cook back in the days when I had someone to cook for.
But, being a long-time single... This is one of my personal favorites and would hope my date would be happy to accept me (and my "cooking") as is.
For instance, he would be treated to:
1. (Left) fried egg with cheddar. Of course I'd attempt to cook his eggs in another style if he should so fancy. However, I'm not guaranteeing any miracles that they will turn out exactly the way he wants them.
2. (Right) hashbrowns cooked to perfection. (My idea of it at least--crispy but not TOO crispy with no mushiness or "mealy" texture.) But again, I would try to make any accommodations to another person's personal tastes.
3. And now, for the main course. This was definitely a splurge, seeing as I usually do NOT bake: "Fudgy Oatmeal Chocolate Bars". You can't see it, but there's a layer of fudge running right through the middle. I can't guarantee how they actually taste... but I'll find out in an hour when they cool down.
Since it IS a date, after all, I might even serve up the food on a real plate instead of just slamming everything into a plastic bowl like I normally do. And yes, the proportions of each entree, for me at least, are pretty accurate, seeing as I'll probably have the egg, half the hashbrowns, and about 3 chocolate bars!!
How about the rest of you?
If a date were to join you for a meal, what would you be having?
Pictures would be awesome but are optional--you can just use descriptions if you'd like. And it doesn't have to be anything home-cooked or fancy--if your dinner is a Triple Bonus Value Meal from Burgers4Ever, feel free to tell us about it and/or post a picture if you'd plan to take a date there.
After all, for many busy singles, the definition of "cooking"--is putting together a sandwich.
And, marrieds are welcome to post to. What kind of meals/foods have you and your spouse been having on your date nights? We singles just might learn something.
So c'mon, everyone, if a date were having dinner (or any other meal) with you, what would you all be having?
