I really think you need to go read 2 Corinthians 10:12. Be blessed
You are the one who stated you could say your work is greater, yet cannot state what it is if it is anything, lol. Yes ive read that scripture before. It's easy to say oh my works are better and not tell them lol. it just seems to me the same ones who constantly preach not of works are also ashamed to tell theirs. Which i mean it's fine if they dont want to.

You seem to misunderstand, for I don't think of you as one who pushes what I just mentioned. The ones who do boast of themselves. Do you think yourself no longer in need of God's grace? I have never seen you say it. Do you believe you are worthy of the free gift of salvation? I have never seen you say it. No, SoF, I was not including you at all.
If you ever see me thinking or saying that any work or word from the Lord is because I'm so great, I give you permission to take me down with the most caustic rebukes you can think of. :) Please! Am trusting you would do it, and I'd be very grateful.

That scares me. Same as going before our King and thinking we have any reason other than His sacrifice to enter the gates of heaven. I would shake in my shoes.

My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus blood and righteousness. Love that song!

Why would you want someone to boast in self and not God?
In what way is it boast if someone asks you what have you done for the lord? Doesnt make sense, it would be different if you yourself was going around bragging about what you have done for the lord.

Thank you. It's ridiculous! Even if we didn't do any intentional sinful acts, we fall short of Gods glory and will just because we are mortal.

I wasn't aware that those branches taught this. Thanks again. :)
John and Charles Wesley taught this false doctrine. They were called on it by George Whitefield. Whitefield exposed many who professed to be sinless, to the chagrin of the Wesley's.

Most are not aware of how very ugly the Wesley's were toward Whitefield. They were rascals to say the least, dogging his steps where he preached to lead others astray, taking over orphan homes he had established, turning people against him, publishing sermons against him. In other words they sowed discord and caused much division.

Oh, and many of the hymns of Charles Wesley were written against election and predestination, a biblical doctrine they repudiated and outright rejected. Yep, they rejected this biblical doctrine. Sad.

Why should you need to ask? Are you a fruit inspector?

would it not be better to ask what has God done for you?

I recall Jesus saying not to boast of what you do or to specifically not do things to be seen of men, as well as not allowing one hand to know what the other hand is doing.........so...again you assume that I do nothing for the Lord......

I can tell you for a fact that He has plans for you that you haven't yet heard, and it won't involve your earthly weapons, but it will involve weapons. :) I heard that this morning.

What would it matter?

they scream not f works only because we have people boasting of their works as required for salvation,

are you one one of Them? Or do you preach by grace alone through faith alone?

The only person that has any right to question a person is his disciplor, mentor or person they have entrusted t help them grow, no on else has a right to ask them to boast.

I guess the whole concept of a hypothetical situation, which I was eluding to, of what could happen if we compared works has escaped you.

I never said my works are better than yours, we have left elementary school I hope, I know I have.

You can make a whole thread on all your works if you feel comfortable to do so.

Perhaps you could title the thread
"Blessed are the Humble for they Shall Inherit the Earth" :D

I'm a retired missionary with stage 4 prostate cancer, which mosts folks on this forum already know;
not much to brag about.
God bless!
I liked this but it didn't seem appropriate TT. Am sorry to hear this but we have a healing Lord, and it only takes a moment for a miracle. Will be praying.

You do realise boasting means to brag right? To display pride. I asked a simple question what have they done. I would think those who perform works for the lord out of love would have no problem simply saying, yes ive done this that and this for the lord out of love. But perhaps i was mistaken.

I was considering a starting a New Thread:

"What works have you done for Jesus today"

Good idea/bad idea.....
not only that you could post a Selfie of yourself in action will serving Jesus.
Good grief I think I was having a moment about myself. :)

"Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up."
James4:10
