He is God he is the son of God. Didn't he call himself the son of man on occasion... My logical argument was that when your reading old testament (Jewish Bible) you in that moment being a jew.
Let me demonstrate the fault in your logic. You assert that by reading the Jewish Bible, one is that moment being a Jew. Therefore, by that logic, reading the Qu'ran makes you a Moslem, reading the Vedas makes you a Hindu, reading Darwin makes you an evolutionist, and reading Dostoevsky makes you an idiot. All are incorrect.

You do not become something else merely by reading. You become a Christian by believing that Jesus Christ is God, that He came in the flesh, suffered and died on the cross to pay the penalty for your sins, died and was buried, and rose again to everlasting life as the New Testament teaches and the Old Testament foretells.

By what you have written so far, I would conclude that you are not a Christian. However, you are reading the Bible... that is a good start. I would encourage you to keep doing so, and keep asking questions, but please, do not jump to conclusions and then try to make them fit. Further, stop trying to drive a wedge between Jesus and the writers of the NT. It is detrimental to your understanding. Careful study of the Bible will reveal that Jesus is God, and that there is no distinction in practice or in intention between the Father and the Son. It will also reveal that the Bible is an integrated message, not merely a collection of unrelated writings.

Lastly, approach the subject with humility. Claiming in your first post that you have impeccable logic is an invitation for dismissal, especially when it is blatantly apparent to any seasoned Christian that your logic is certainly anything but impeccable.

Since God had to die to create and "We are offsprings of God", He doesn't need to ask Himself permission to take His Lives, referring to what you see as killing children, "I have power to lay down my life and have the power to take it up again." It's all good having all power, that powerless enemies cant argue with. "I will give you a wisdom that no one will be able to gainsay, or resist." If we resist it's because we want our own way, to be our own god. I'm still tempted don't feel bad if your drawn into temptation, "Pray that you enter not into temptation." Not by might nor by power, but by My sprit sais the Lord." I think even the Holy Ghost had to die, but what do I know and "When He the Holy Ghost is come, He shall not speak of Himself but will reveal the things of Jesus to us." He wont speak of Himself, no point to ask, also we can conclude that when people speak of themselves they are not speaking by the Holy Spirit.

We could bombard this thread with Scripture.. but it is probably not helpful to Theo101..

Maybe Theo could share what writings he believes and we can try and share Scripture in response slowly.

Not really, I have been struggling to reply to all questions, and I am on my phone. Desert Rose has a great few points. And I suppose I am picking the best bits from a whole Canon. But I just can't reconcile Jesus's word of love, with anything said by anyone else, even if it is supposed to be as holy as Christ words.
No, really.

People have taken time to respond to you with good instruction. You however cherry pick where to respond as you cherry pick Scripture. I've provided you a reasoned response yet you skip over that, something given in order to help you. It appears you don't want help, you've made up your mind - you just want to argue with no desire to know the truth. If you were seeking this the posts given to help you would have been replied to but you skip them over.

You're seeking justification for your lifestyle and in that endeavor you are willfully blind to anything that is light which exposes you. I'm sorry to see this myself.

I believe the only authority in the Bible is direct quotes from Jesus. I believe in Jesus Christ's God, the one he describes.
Where your logic fails in easiest possible terms:
If you only believe what Jesus Jesus said, then you don't believe those who wrote those words, thus you can't believe any words they wrote that quoted Jesus.

Boy! Did you pick a mockery of a user name.

Just saying that my logic is not impeccable is not an argument proving its not impeccable.
Obviously calling ones self Christian you should call yourself Judeo-christian. I am Christian because I follow Christ's words and only his words.
None of his words promoted lying as a lifestyle. And yet, you lie. Which makes everything you say the opposite of "impeccable," "logic," and "Christian."

The New Testament is in the old, concealed.
The Old Testament is in the new revealed

They are like two sides of a coin, you need a
coin with both sides engraved for it to be authentic.

If you do not accept the entire Bible as God's inspired Word; then there is no basis for discussion.

Jesus refers to Himself as the Word of God.

Scripture refers to itself as God's Word

I believe that the Bible, in its entirety is the visible representation of Jesus until His return.

I don't believe that it is possible to be a true Christian without accepting the authority of Scripture.
Yeah Marc is back, someone with common sense and wisdom!

You need the balance of the old and new testaments to understand God's character... God is perfect and doesnt change (If he was then he wouldn't be perfect) Malachi 3:6 Malachi 3:6 "I the LORD do not change. So you, the descendants of Jacob, are not destroyed.

The old testiment shows that God Shows justice and the new testament shows God's mercy through Christ. The is a balance between a just and a merciful God. the problem with today's society is that the just side that should be in line with God's justice just isn't present with mankind and instead promotes love without being just. Love homosexuality and it is a slippery slope to paedophillia being accepted into society. Having rampant fornication everywhere and then there is social justice warriors taking the stance of allah, budda etc whilst slating God and Jesus. Sounds familar for todays problems that because society has forgotten about God's justice.

Well with that kind of "flawed" logic if I'm reading about Albert Einstein who is Jewish does that make me a Jewish scientist? Btw, there was a reason why Jesus Christ referred to Himself as the "Son of Man" and as the "Son of God." Do you know what it is?

IN GOD THE SON,

Looks like I am not a Christian. I am a Christ'sman I am in the only Jesus club :)
There are believers who believe Jesus only: that Jesus is the Father manifested in the flesh: HIs name shall be called Wonderful counselor (the Holy Spirit), mighty God (Son of God: "All power is given to me in heaven and earth, Go therefore in all the world... immersing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." Look in the book of Acts they were immersed in the name of Jesus, Lord Jesus Christ: Father Son and Holy Spirit.) continuing with the same verse, everlasting Father, prince of peace."
But that verse is from the old testament and you don't believe that? actually I do but I don't claim to know what I'm talking about. "If any man thinks he knows, he doesn't know as he should. If we think we know we stop learning, that happens to teenagers, are you a teenager? In spirit i'm 12 to get past you have to surrender everything, 11 years ago the Lord told me: Enter in as a little child and put away your divided spirit. I asked Him how old I was as a little child? He said 12, a few weeks later He said: Come to My house, i'm coming to My house." Relates to what Jesus did at 12 years of age. A year later when I was still struggling with addiction, repenting and turning to Him for help, woke up hearing: This kind does not come out but by prayer and fasting." About the divided spirit i'm to put away, don't feel bad if it's a long journey.
The first time the Lord spoke to me I was 22: 40 years ago in a month or so, hopefully the end of the wilderness...

I believe Jesus as a carpenter as a man, as a man who was tested, as a man who cryed out "why has though forsaken me?" He spoke of the one true God. (his cultures God) But Do you think that the God that is Love, is a vengeful entity? Jesus didn't think that, do you?
2Th 1:7-9
(7) And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,
(8) In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
(9) Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power.

Of course Jesus did think that! The actual vengeance and wrath that was due us through sin, Jesus took upon himself that wrath. This is why a Christian loves Jesus. We know this by revelation from the scriptures God inspired, which helped make it possible for us to recognize Jesus when he actually did come.

It seems that you are really confused?
But that makes sense seeing you said you have a dilemma. Jesus died for that Pain, but you must receive the full revelation of Christ from the scriptures inspired of God to grow in Grace and Knowledge of Christ Jesus The Lord.

Isa 53:3-5
(3) He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
(4) Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
(5) But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

Isa 53:6-7
(6) All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
(7) He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.

Isa 53:8-9

(8) He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.
(9) And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.

Isa 53:10-12
(10) Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.
(11) He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.
(12) Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

This is really saddening for me now having read these scriptures, seeing clearly that you do not comprehend even the very first part of the Gospel. May God have mercy on you, that the enmity you have against Him be not your ruin. The only power we have against the flesh, is through the power of the Spirit that Christ gives us.

Rom 8:5-9
(5) For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
(6) For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
(7) Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
(8) So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
(9) But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

Sadly, the devil truly has deceived the whole world. We are only able to come out from that deception through hope in the shed blood and resurrection of Christ as it is revealed from heaven and record in The Word of God.

Rev 12:9
And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceives the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

Rev 20:10
And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

No. He called himself Jehovah. (You don't even read what Jesus said either, huh?)

Because when an individual, be them Christian or not, reads or speaks the old testament at that moment they are being Jewish. The Old Testament is the Jewish Bible when you speak it your being Jewish, full stop, logical and rational fact.
my transparent, honest reaction to this statement . .
