What is the strong delusion that would cause people to believe a lie?

In the context of 2 Thessalonians 2nd chapter, signs and lying wonders that opposes the tradition taught of us as Paul reminded us in verses 13-15 has to do with those that preach receiving the Holy Spirit apart from salvation after a sign of tongues ( which never comes with interpretation & can be found in the world's religions, idolatry, occult, as well as cults in christianity ) . That is the whole point for Paul reminding us how and when we had received the Holy Spirit in vs 13-15.
So like all those movements of the "Spirit" where they believe the Holy Spirit is coming and falling on saved believers again and again and again is NOT the Holy Spirit.
Even they that preach receiving the Holy Spirit apart from salvation after a sign of tongues is not of Him.
Or they that preach receiving ANOTHER baptism with the Holy Spirit with the evidence of tongues.
And yet God's gift of tongues was never to serve as a sign or proof or evidence to the already saved believers for anything. 1 Corinthians 14:22
And so saved believers preaching this apostasy of receiving tongues ( which is why it NEVER comes with interpretation ) by seeking to receive what they believe is the Holy Spirit apart from salvation, have fallen away from the faith in giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils, having their conscience seared with a hot iron in hypocrisy by calling for the Holy Spirit to come when He has been in them since their salvation and CANNOT be received again.
That is the strong delusion that God will permit for believing the lie ; that iniquity that a saved believer can receive the Holy Spirit apart from salvation after a sign of tongues with no interpretation or/and any other sensational signs of confusion in the flesh.
So the falling away from the faith is happening now and in droves, indicating that God will be coming soon at the pre trib rapture event to judge His House first....
May God peradventure to recover some from this snare of the devil to chase no more after seducing spirits to receive after a sign by returning to their first love, the Bridegroom, and be free from being a captive of the devil to shun vain & profane babbling to pray normally which is the will of God the Father in Christ Jesus concerning any saint.
Otherwise, they are at risk of being cast into the great tribulation at the pre trib rapture event to be received later on as vessels unto dishonor in His House after the great tribulation.

I'm with Stephen63. What are the lies? All that matters is mammon. There are no limits to personal behavior. No one is responsible for their choices. Cultures groom those who become their leaders. I believe "the son of perdition" (2 Thes. 2:3) will come from among us. I'm witnessing the "me generation". Is it such a big step to become the "I am god" generation when the real God is being removed from our streets? We used to be a righteous nation. The lies are destroying us.
NDDreamer it appears you are steering in the wrong direction.....Everyone has a choice to make including you. You cannot make their choice and they yours. Understand what I am trying to say?
If you believe, truly believe in Jesus Christ and His Gospel, You don't have to worry about all the sin, etc. around you. The time after the Rapture will happen as it states in Revelation 4-22. It will not effect you as a true Believer since you will be in Heaven with Jesus and all the other Church (Body of Christ Saints), You may have tears for those left behind but even those are wiped away in the end.
The "Son of Perdition" will come from Mankind. He will be of 'Assyrian' descent and is already most likely here on earth. In fact, I think Satan has had someone ready to step in as the Antichrist, since the first church 2000 years ago. Why,,, because after the rapture happens, only can the Antichrist be become known to the public. We also see this in Rev. 6:2 as he is the rider on the White Horse. Notice the Bow and NO ARROWS.... WHY? because he is to come conquering the world with PEACE.
SO you see, that you have the power within you to change your life around and not worry about anything. Because the though of being with Jesus in the end surpasses every threat of things to come here on Earth. BUT YOU DON'T MUCH TIME.. Do NOT TARY!
Searching out the understanding of Mathew 12 below can aid in understanding what it means to send a strong delusion to believe a lie, as to why he sends the delusion to one but not to His Elect.
The forgiven ones that do not blaspheme against the Holy Spirit (not seen) will not be given the strong delusion that does come by lying sign and wonders(the faith principle) .
Against the Son of man they will be forgiven..
Mat 12:31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.
The examples shown in the scripture give us a better understanding I believe.
