It's a go-to for me on those days when I just don't have time to put together something more complex. Between class late this afternoon and AA tonight, I just don't have time to stand at the stove, but I can slap a casserole in the oven and let the hot box do the hard work. I'm simple about my tuna noodle casserole - wide egg noodles, tuna fish, cream of mushroom soup. Done. Oh...but I do have some french fried onion topping to use instead of crushed potato chips...bonus.
Sorry brother, you lost me at cream-of-vegetable-oil soup. It won't replace real cream no matter how you use it.

Tonight's dinner, i don't know. I could go for soup so perhaps we'd be dining on that.

Oh, Hellooo...

I wanted to "like" this, I REALLY did. It's so beautiful!

But. All. Those. Eyeballs... I just can't.

I have to have all my food DOA... and for the most part, completely unrecognizable. :(

When it comes to food, I prefer one-way (meaning me only) conversation/organs (in other words, no tongue, brains, or organs), and one-way staring contest in which I'm the only one who has visible eyeballs!

(I can manage beheaded shrimp, but anything too far beyond that... might just push me over the edge and into become a cabbage-hugger.)

11 lbs ready to become meatloaf. 20170923_154826.jpg

But first I will make some nice, warm sandwiches of it. 20170923_155836.jpg And that is my breakfast/lunch/dinner.

I love ya, girl, but you know that pictures of meatloaf won't be getting a "like" from me!

It wasn't any meatloaf. Just some nice sandwiches. And 11 lbs ready to make you turn your hatred into love.

The guy who said he'd have cow tongues for me at the farmer's market this week, looked and realized he was all out of cow tongue back at the farm. This is a serious disappointment. Getting just one bit of that deliciousness after so long without and then not being able to get it again; it's like a subtle form of culinary torture.

So I bought some super good cheese and salmon and smoked pork chops instead. Farmer's markets are bad for my wallet.

I spent a big portion of yesterday afternoon grocery shopping across three stores and then cooking/prepping a bunch of different things. Egg salad, chicken salad, repackaging meats into packages suitable for two people instead of 4 or 20.

I'm making it easy on myself tonight. Buffalo wings. Celery with bleu cheese dressing. Garlic bread.

That does not look like ground beef, or ground any kind of meat with which I'm familiar. What is that?

Actually what it looks most like is "meat" for soy burgers, or "slug burgers" in the local parlance.

It is basically pork, pork belly fat, milk, potato flour, salt, nutmeg and egg if it is for Christmas. Yummy

Sounds good. I'd like to play with proportions and see how it tastes this way and that.

The sandwich was a big childhood favorite. I have served it to my parents in laws and they loves it. Not much of a competition with the nestleder, though.
