Because the sun represents the light of the son of God and the earth represents us, we ourselves bear no light but his light radiates the darkness:)

It sounds like you are one of those who believes the sun is very close to the earth.

Well actually that was more of a analogy than A real response to the thread but as for your response no I don't think it's very close to earth or else we would all burn to a crisp. It is only close enough to not burn earth and only far away enough that we don't freeze. The sun is only a medium star so it can only shine it's light so far into space

Because space is a vacuum and there is nothing in this vast emptiness for light to
illuminate.
Remember in space nobody can hear you scream.
Only objects that can reflect or refract visible light can be seen.
The sky is blue because sunlight is scattered by air molecules, the ionosphere and dust to
display the blue end of the light spectrum above us.

Your camping lantern lights of your camp because it is in your camp instead of the forest. The sun lights up the earth because the is much closer than NASA claims.

Have you measured the distance? How far away is the sun from the Earth?

Oh, I see.
You're not asking a question for the purpose of gaining insight,
you're attempting to disseminate scriptural and scientific heresy via
rhetorical device, with the intent of "enlightening" us stupid round-earthers.
Why do I bother clicking on crap like this?

Can You Go The Distance?

Have you measured the distance? How far away is the sun from the Earth?

The question remains...

Are you going to believe your own eyes...

Or will you believe what someone tells you to believe?

There are some fancy mathematical equations on this next page...being a relative simpleton, I don't understand them...they are very (oooh...ahhh-ish).

Flat Earth Prediction Falls Flat

This next video shows a few interesting photos...(not very mystical or intellect inspiring).

CREPUSCULAR SUN RAYS PROVE FLAT EARTH

And more oooh-ahhh equations...

Zetetic Astronomy, Earth Not A Globe: Chapter V. The True Distance of the Sun

"If any allowance is to be made for refraction--which, no doubt, exists where the sun's rays have to pass through a medium, the atmosphere, which gradually increases in density as it approaches the earth's surface--it will considerably diminish the above-named distance of the sun; so that it is perfectly safe to affirm that the under edge of the sun is considerably less than 700 statute miles above the earth."

Draw your own conclusions.

Peace.

Because the earth is a surface that the sun's light illuminates, just like when you shine a flashlight on a ball. The atmosphere has water molecules that reflect the sun's light, just like when you see a fog or mist. The sky is blue just like the oceans are blue when the water is clean and shallow.

In space there are no air particles or any other particles to reflect light. The only things you see reflecting light are other planets. Stars don't reflect light since they are also suns.

if you take a ball and a flashlight and go out in a dark empty field at night and then turn on the flashlight and shine it on the ball, the only thing that will light up is the ball. Everything else remains black because theres nothing there to reflect the light (unless there is a mist in the air which will light up the beam of the flashlight, but there is no mist in space).

And the moon IMO represents the cross.

Plasma is a form of light as well that is spewed out from the sun yet invisible to the naked eye. Though plasma can be harnessed, neon signs is a good example of plasma.

man's reasonings and conclusions???lol...:p:rolleyes:

after a certain age and maturity in Christ, after your 'calling', you will find that there is
absolutely no reason to have any kind of 'faith' in the 'carnal-mind or its assumptions',
or what it tries so very hard to propagate and convince the masses of...
it's a Total Trust Issue, with our Saviour...

Depending on the point of the orbit of the earth around the sun the distance is 93 - 94 million miles. Yes, relatively close compared to the nearest star besides the sun that is 4 light years away.

So many things I'd like to say, but there's no point. I will share this link though because it's cool, and if you don't cheat...and spend the time scrolling...and scrolling...and scrolling, you'll get an idea of just how stupidly empty space is. If the Moon Were Only 1 Pixel - A tediously accurate map of the solar system
What is your explanation for the clouds behind the sun and the moon?
