First of all, when I say hate, I see this usually from Christians, when a certain Christian teacher is not to their liking, just look at comment sections and the like, people quick to judge so and so instead of hearing them and watching the videos in context.

Yes, this can be true, but for the most part, IMO I don't see that it is only because the preacher "is not to their liking" nor do I see hate in it. I think we should be careful in using this oft misused and over used term.

I also do not like this tendency in certain Christian camps to call someone a false teacher when they are not.

I hear you.

I am bombarded with this, there are people I follow and then messed up Youtube videos that selectively edit what that pastor, teacher, says etc. I one time myself was deceived by one of these videos that went after Lecrae, a Christian rapper. So you get a sound bite but not the context of what has been said.

Yes, this happens, we should look well to our way; Proverbs 14:15.

As for Ravi he is not really an expositor, again he is a Christian apologist not really a pastor or preacher. Though that is not to say that there are not times that he does that with passages.

I agree, but he should use more Scripture. We don't have to hold an office to employ Scripture more often.

When it came to the accents, I was not referring to you that was someone else who did not like his accent or something like that. I have heard of Martyn Lloyd-Jones. I am not Reformed but I have heard of those of Ligonier Ministries referring to him and even hearing audio recorded of him speaking. I like R.C. Sproul but don't agree with all of his positions, most, yes. But not all. I believe that the Calvinist position (which I am not) is greatly misunderstood by the Christian community. It is overly simplified by certain Christian groups, when it is really complex. Thanks. God bless. :)

Yes, I didn't take it you were referring to me concerning his accent. Yes, Calvinism is misunderstood and misrepresented. If you ever get time you should listen to the messages on the link I've provided. They are most excellent and a real treasure.

God bless you too brother.

Sometimes people think putting a smiley emoji makes it okay to say, but there are many posts that sound quite hateful and are difficult to read, I do not think you overstated.

Seriosly? Are you new here? plenty of hate in this forum on a daily basis - pretty much anyway. Ok maybe the word "hate" was a little strong on this thread but really I've grown tired of people doing their best to bring down those on the public platform who are working for God and i happen to think that searching the net in order to dish the dirt on a brother is wrong and cruel. Im sorry if you think i overstated it

Wait a minute here!
YOU are the guy who has been the prime culprit in dishing up all the internet gossip as apparent evidence for the prosecution.
It is your ignorance and bigotry that has driven this thread due to the ridiculous unsubstantiated allegations that you have made...

Sometimes people think putting a smiley emoji makes it okay to say, but there are many posts that sound quite hateful and are difficult to read, I do not think you overstated.

I think your remarks would be appropriate if when I criticized the post in question, Speak2Me had responded hatefully or defensively. His response indicated no intent to do harm. That can hardly be described as hate. He seems to have had a legitimate concern about the use of the salutation 'Dr.' That which he posted was ugly and slanderous; but when called to his attention he responded appropriately. Perhaps it is time to give his motivations the benefit of the doubt.

You didn't watch the video, did you? I thought as much. BTW, if anyone wants to find out more, just google "Doctor Ravi Zacharias" with quotes, and you will find what you're looking for.
Now, graceNpeace, since you decided not to be polite about it, I'm putting you on ignore. You can rant all you want, but I don't have to look at it.
May the Lord lead you by His Spirit & show you His ways.:)
Marc, this was his response to my criticism of the same post.
He accused me of being impolite and ranting when every point I made was actually objective and truthful.
He also went on to justify his actions by alleging that where there is smoke (all the Google search results about RZ) that there must be fire.
Frankly, if that is the standard of evidence, then something is very wrong.

Also, I have not seen a post where he has apologised for slandering a man who did him no wrong.
I am still prepared to report him for his behaviour if he does not desist from slandering Ravi Zacharias.

When I read this thread, I realized I didn't know anything about RA. the more I searched, the more about his claims about being a "doctor" surfaced.
Honest, I wasn't looking for this, I stumbled onto it. There are several sites that bring this up.
Sorry, guys, I wasn't trying to slam the man. This is just what's out there.

That is the basis for my recent post

That is the basis for my recent post
With respect I directed him to the RZIM website where he could read RZ's biography in his own words.
All the information about his qualifications and honorary degrees are there - all he needed to do was read it.
He does not refer to himself as Dr.
No dice.

I strongly suggest an unqualified apology on this thread to Ravi Zacharias from Speak2Me!

that would certainly be appropriate; but I personally believe he has responded appropriately already.

I agree with you and it's unjust. It's done a lot here by some very mean people who say the most vile rotten things about other Christians who don't agree with them. Some actually believe they have a right to judge and condemn others openly saying just whatever comes to their mind based on their opinions.

One lady here says she is protecting the unsaved and the unlearned from me and my posts and my "false teaching". A
nd then another lady says I'm self righteous and want pity from people when I say this behavior is wrong.

So what do we do with something like that? Just because I don't come back at people here with the same nastiness and vengeance doesn't mean I think they have a right to say such things. But there really is nothing I can do about it. I do believe these people should be ashamed of their behavior but they actually believe they are doing God's work. When people get that far into condemnation there is nothing going to stop them.

Good grief! Ravi Z certainly has a good reputation and has more than earned the right to be respected by his brothers and sisters in Christ. An anonymous person sitting behind a computer in their living room has no right or authority to spout off condemnation and judgment against the life and work of Ravi Z.

My apology for the clutter. I only intended to post that biography once.

I agree that he responded appropriately and many do, but I was speaking in general on CC, not just this thread

Sometimes there is little room for doubt when one mocks and belittles another even after a person is banned.

I think your remarks would be appropriate if when I criticized the post in question, Speak2Me had responded hatefully or defensively. His response indicated no intent to do harm. Having read the book what exactly is your issue with it?

Hello graceNpeace: Why is it the I feel no matter what I say, you are not going to like it?

I have listened to Ravi Z and believe he is soft (to say the least) on his teaching of apologetics. When speaking he reminds me of a politician telling those who are listening what they want to hear regardless of whether it is the truth or Not.

His beliefs includes: believing in the Roman Catholic Church, however he does not comment on the 'Mother Mary'.
When asked about His RCC beliefs, he refers the person to a substantial number of books (on his website) for the answer instead of giving his own beliefs. I have a lists of these books that he recommends but have not read them all yet to see if they are steering unaware 'Christians to be' into a situation where they would be believing in something that is false.

I think someone posted a 'statement of Faith' from this thread. I forget the Post Number? My Bad......However, being a good Berean, I looked it up and what is posted is correct.

He also believes in the 'communion of the saints' which in my mind is a non-starter. Only God can create saints and I doubt very seriously (if they are in heaven), they will hear any prayers that are directed to them.

I listened to him in a speaking engagement at the Mormon Tabernacle and at BYU. As for their breakdown, I will leave that to you, should you decide to watch them.

I use several apologists who are not always in agreement with I believe to be. While their style is different from Ravi's, they are more direct and keep Jesus's gospel and the Bible connected. They also have far more substance in their teachings than Ravi does.

One Apologist that I use is John McArthur and I have included a short sound byte on his take of the Mormon Belief.

Compare this with Ravi's teachings and/or beliefs.

NOTE:
Now don't get me wrong. I am not trying to steer anyone away or to Ravi which is why in my first post I simply said RUN! There are many more apologists out there that in my opinion would be a better pick than Ravi Z.

Have a Blessed Day....

What is above is unbelievably hypocritical!

If you had just said RZ is not my cup of tea or some other neutral characterisation then yes, maybe that is acceptable.
But you, by your own admission said RUN!
The context cannot be any other than danger or evil - that is why one tells a person to run.
I am sorry your exact purpose was to "warn" people of danger and evil - and to RUN from it!

There is nothing about RZ that justifies your stance...

You have severely misunderstood the meaning of 'communion of the saints'. It is not a reference to the dead in any way or praying to the dead.
It is simply a reference to believers meeting together (church, home groups etc etc)

This phrase is present in many Evangelical churches statement of faith and it is understood in the way that I have explained it.

You are trying so hard to malign the man yet his beliefs are boringly orthodox.

Also I have viewed the videos that you post - there is nothing wrong with them yet you imply wrongdoing on the part of RZ.

Like I said, did not think you would like it...... your not going to like this either.

I said RUN so that people reading that post would STOP!!!! and maybe investigate Ravi quals out a little further. So many do not use Acts 17:11 and simply accept or not-accept what they are told. (I'll not go any further).

That is up until you and another ask me for my opinion. Thus, I have given you my opinion on why I do not use him in my studies and it is fine with me if I am the only one who feels that way. It will not ruin or rain on my day.

now again, I hope you have a very Blessed Day SIR!

This second explanation is not any more convincing than the first!

As for the investigation and research part - well if "communion of the saints" causes you problems then you have not done your research - you are condemning RZ based on your ignorance (what you don't know) rather than what you do know and can prove...

Maybe you can read the above article in Wikipedia about 'Communion of Saints.'

In my opinion if he is indeed connected with the RCC, then YES, YES, YES, His teachings are at the very least suspect and need to be checked out before one commits to his version of Apologetics. The RCC is a false Religion of its own and will lead many many people to Hell.

Now if you are Catholic,,,I am sorry if the truth hurts. Are we supposed to tip-toe around the RCC and their soteriology and eschatology in fear of hurting someones feelings. Are we to just let them fall unknowingly.
