I'm sorry. I've tried. But believing in all this hokey pokey Jesus stuff I can't do. I've tried very hard. But the more I read and the more excuses I get for things like hurricanes happening the more I realize that's it's just all one big fairy tale lie. I feel like you are all brain-washed. I'm glad you all have something that makes you happy. But for me it made me more confused and more depressed. Everything is so inconsistent it's really pathetic.

examples:

The Earth is only 6,000 years old, I was told the age of trees, icebergs, rocks, carbon dating, etc.. is all wrong. Though they all match and state the earth is billions of years old, they are all wrong because a long time ago the seasons were different and it got cold-hot-cold again several times a day, whatever.

Hurricanes occur to bring people together. OK - sure. So an almighty god that can do anything preaches nothing but love, then uses death and horror to bring people together. Better yet - hurricanes punish people. ok - sure.

I belive Earth is 4.7 billion years old. I have no problem with any scientific dating.

Slavery is in the Bible, not as a recommendation, but as a fact of those times, yes. Also polygamy is and many other things.

Gays are very bad and most of them will not get to heaven. Heterosexuals are also very bad and most of them will not get to heaven.

God did not give us the free will in the way most lay people use this term.

Well, one sinless Man came to earth, and they killed Him.

I'm sorry you feel that way, even if you don't believe in all of this I hope you can find at least a few people here that you can befriend and enjoy conversations with. Although I applaud you trying to understand I am afraid that if you are not receptible or unable to receive this then you simply will not even if you try.

For you to understand why we believe what we do you have to reach a point in which you are truly able to receive it and that only happens when a change inside occurs sometimes it's through life's hardships and we reach out to god not even knowing if he is real or will answer other times it's a change in a person that happens from life's happenings not always the bad kind either.

It's like trying to get a person to understand science or math, if they simply are not that into it but like the idea of it they still cannot truly receive what is taught or given to them. But your path may not meet the cross roads of receiving and understanding what we do for a while but we also never know what the future holds, my advice is to be the best person you can be and move forward in life while also trying to remain open to the though of Jesus, if anything else I know that I used to be a horrible person who was mean to others but in following God I am not the same person

(1) Im not aware of a verse in the Bible that actually tells us the exact age of the planet?

(2) The Bible tells us that man has been ordained to die once, and then into judgement. Every single one of us will die one day, this physical life is not where we are intended to be. God can use hardship to bring His creations to Him, yes.

(3) Here are a few verses about slavery-

Exodus 21:16 “Whoever steals a man and sells him, and anyone found in possession of him, shall be put to death.

From Leviticus 25-
39 “‘If any of your fellow Israelites become poor and sell themselves to you, do not make them work as slaves. 40 They are to be treated as hired workers or temporary residents among you; they are to work for you until the Year of Jubilee. 41 Then they and their children are to be released, and they will go back to their own clans and to the property of their ancestors. 42 Because the Israelites are my servants, whom I brought out of Egypt, they must not be sold as slaves. 43 Do not rule over them ruthlessly, but fear your God.

The slavery mentioned in the Bible is not the same as what was used in the US, dont believe everything an atheist critic tells you about the Bible without looking it up for yourself. That took me very little time to find. There have been voluntary slaves throughout history who had nothing and exchanged their services for shelter and food.

(4) There are pleanty of Christians who deal with the issue of same sex attraction, you are reading the post of one right now.
Homosexuality is no different than any other form of temptation, and just like any other sexual urge, it can be ignored and denied. For those of us who have fallen to it, He is more than willing to forgive us of our sins if we are willing to repent.
Also, mentioning the sins of others doesnt justify giving yourself over to another.

And idolatry was given the death penalty as well, but even in the OT God tells the idolaters in Israel to repent and come back to Him, that He would forgive their sins and accept them again. Even in the OT, we are told His will is mercy. The law exists to make us conscious of sin.

(5) It is up to you whether or not you come to Him and trust Him, or follow your own opinions and do what you want to do. Its the entire point of this life.

And you can keep your dollar, Im more worried about what will happen to you. I came to Christ from the LBGT life cuz I was shown what was going to happen to me when I died. so I know without a doubt that everything weve been warned of is true. I pray that you let go of your pride and wisdom and seek Him.

#1. You can see that there are different teachings within the Christian churches and so you are going to get a variety of responses from Christians from different walks of life. This forum is not united in teachings but united in belief in Jesus Christ and that God raise Him from the dead. FYI

#2. Stop trying to figure out everything in order to believe In Him that God raise Him from the dead. Even the Bible says we prophesy in part and we know in part until we meet Him face to face one day.

#3. Ask God the Father for help to reveal His Son to you so you can believe in Him to be saved.

Now if you want to hear about Jesus then most here can help you with that. There are many cold hard facts about our savior that might prove quit intresting. There may be some misconception on what you have come to know and the truth of Gods word.

I can tell you, that it is not a matter of you trying very hard, for scripture states that "no man can come to the Son except the Father draws him."

What it is about, is you hearing that Jesus paid the penalty for all of your sins, took upon Himself the wrath that you deserve and met the righteous requirements of the law on your behalf. What He is looking for is your response to all that Jesus did for you. What is your answer to this? Either you recognize this amazing gift and you respond by receiving Him as Lord and savior or it has not value to you and you continue on the road which leads to condemning judgment.

Everyone who comes into the world is guilty of sin and the reward for sin is death, which is separation from the presence of God and eternity in the lake of fire. Because we are all sinners, we are already on our way to condemning judgment. But, once a person has faith in Christ for the payment of their sins, then the God sees Christ as the One who was held accountable for them. Otherwise, everyone who rejects Him, that individual will be held accountable for their own sins when they stand before God at the great white throne judgment.

It's not about all those other things that you mentioned above, for those are just excuses to continue living in the sinful nature. So the only question to you is, what is your answer to God regarding the Lord's sacrifice for you?

Our sins are forgiven and we have the promise of eternal life through faith in Him as the One who provided salvation for you. If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord and believe in your heart that God the Father raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

I pray that God will reveal His Son to you in your spirit, that you may be saved.
