Hello, I am actually not Christian and came here to try to understand one thing, which my parents hate me for. Why is wrong to be gay according to the Bible ? Now before you attack me I am talking about some individuals who think so. Not trying to argue with anyone. I just want to understand.

Hello Felix, welcome to CC! I hope you find satisfactory answers to your question. People will want to know if you are gay, or are just asking out of curiosity. Asking out of curiosity is not wrong, but may come across a bit trollish on a site where the overwhelming majority will be vehemently against gay relationships, since Scripture calls such an abomination.

And the Lord God said, “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.” Out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the air, and brought them to Adam to see what he would call them. And whatever Adam called each living creature, that was its name. So Adam gave names to all cattle, to the birds of the air, and to every beast of the field. But for Adam there was not found a helper comparable to him.
And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place. Then the rib which the Lord God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man.
And Adam said:
“This is now bone of my bones
And flesh of my flesh;
She shall be called Woman,
Because she was taken out of Man.”

Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.
And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.

Genesis 2:18-25 NKJV

This is the groundwork that God laid for marital relationships.

Yes I understand that, but that doesn't say anything about two guys not being allowed to be together as a couple.

Hi, Felix! :) God loves gay people and wants a relationship with them.... that's all I know! So my goal is to be a loving friend to anyone, LGBTQ, and keep the doors of communication open. Probably reading the Bible, and most importantly, PRAYING, is the absolute best thing a LGBTQ person can do... they have to figure out their relationship with their Creator, it's the most important thing they can do for themselves. <3

Scripture speaks against homosexuality in quite a few places, both old and new testaments.

Your relationship with your mother should be one of unconditional love, but that does not mean she is required to support you in any activities or behaviors that she views as immoral or wrong.

Welcome here you can discuss with bible smart people and possibly make new friends, hope you like it here!
Attack you?
Nay that holds nothing for me.
Biblically God considers man laying down with man or woman laying down with woman,an abomination(opposite of what is right to him)
in the new testament even puts it as 1 of 7 deadly sins that are abominable to him(sins he is against because they go against the natural order he set up)
understand that this does not mean that anyone is right to "attack you" for considering to act upon such desires,it by no means makes anyone a supposed freak,it is wrong but not unforgiveable only 1 sin is unforgiveable and that is to blaspheme the holy spirit,so say hypothetically that you do go after the gay lifestyle made in modern times, does this mean that you cannot be saved by one day repenting of (choosing to go away from)the gay lifestyle choice and seeking to do right for God?
No you at liberty anytime to seek God for forgiveness and seek your soul to be saved and through doing so no longer desire such things, don't let any foolish person tell you otherwise choosing abominable lifestyles doesn't mean you can't still be saved,it's when you have no remorse for your actions and stay in them that one such as myself would be concerned more for you.

I am sorry I have never read the new or the old testament. I did not really get to do that. My mum didn't make it easy for me and people on my village didn't want me in the church.

Two men together, or two women together is wrong, unnatural and an abomination to God. Man was made for woman, and vice versa. Also, this subject is inappropriate for the new members forum. It would be better answered in the Family forum.

Okay, that's gonna break my heart... but honestly.... probably your mother has a hard time letting go of her expectations for her son. The expectation of a wife, and grandkids (although these days, gay couples have kids all the time!)... for her, she's letting go of personal dreams she had for you. It's sad, and it kinda sucks.

Ultimately, with time, she CAN come around and love you as you are, and be supportive... and honestly, the best thing for you to be doing is to pray about it... you said you're not a Christian, have you tried talking to God about this? Pouring out your heart to Him? He made you, He knows your heart perfectly, and He loves you more than you can imagine.

If your mother is a believer, then her views against homosexuality would probably stem from her aligning with what Scripture says on the matter. Since you have not read what the Bible says on the matter, perhaps someone will provide the verses. Homosexuality used to be illegal, and still is in some places, with the death penalty being exacted upon those who practice such.

God condemns sodomy very explicitly in Romans chapter 1.

Romans 1:24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

For the cause of Christ

Simply put, probably for the reasons that Jenizona gave, but also because your mom expects that like any other normal healthy guy, you're supposed to like GIRLS..

Stupidity is what I call it,people can be cruel, though I see gay as wrong I don't look down on such people as if somehow I am superior that's another "Lie" in this world, people going about pridefully declaring they are for God but they have a proud look(another deadly sin out of the 7)it's not how Christians should be,we are to be guiding role models not judgemental ego maniacs.

It's a disruption in the natural course of life. In order to procreate you need a woman.

Some , without regard to religion will oppose anything that's not tradition. By tradition I mean the way things should go.

If uve no desire for heaven, then by all means stay the same. You'll have to grow thick skin because as you are allowed to choose what you like, so are others. If your lifestyle isn't what they like then they shouldn't be faulted.

Not that I want you to miss out on heaven but it's not my place to tell you that you have to change. Because you don't if you don't want to.
If you're ever curious about learning what's at stake, I'd read the Bible.
