It's easier to address me as Jon, since that's my name, and in Hebrew, the name John means...Yahweh is gracious.
Anyhoo...I haven't decided what to do when I am done with school. I've worked in industry before, I've taught classes, and I've been a consultant. Each job had it's good and bad, but none of them was what I thought I should be doing with my life.

A place where I can be weird great -_-.
So i have a weird mind where i think of things into extreme detail like dreams that feel like reality if you understand that. Anyway i have these fantasies where I'm dying yup to me it's one of the most important parts of my life my death. I think about being persecutedfor my faith. My last day being my most glorious the day when I'm the closest to Christ the day when i can look up to my Father and honestly say I've faught the good fight and I'm gonna end it in suffering, in pain, one of my worst fears. Sharing even the most painful and scary parts of Christ life. Not only that but willingly too. I want to get there and be ready to die for Christ i want to love him so much at the end of my life that im glad to die representing him with my life. Thinking of looking at everyone even though im in pain even though im suffering I'd be smiling ready to see my Father happy to suffer for his sake. I look around at the crowds of people that hate Christ that hate me for identifying with him and then i look at my family them sending me off in a way. I think of it and I'm filled with mixed emotions of joy and fear, sadness but a sort of peace. I love people and i am extremely fearful of pain yet there's a part of me that craves suffering for Christ not that he needs me to but just getting to a point where im no longer scared of the pain or the people but im so in love with God that i count it all worth it to the point i encourage pain so that i can understand him and his love for me. As i slowly drift away i think of my wife and children of her being happy for me but still kinda sad and my children looking up at me thinking that their father was a man of God and wanting to please Christ themselves and after im gone i think about people being confused at my life. They see me smiling while in pain and can't help but think that there has to be a God or atleast think about it and thetr would be people who were saved by the grace of God because only He could make someone as scared, as useless, and disgusting as me something different something useful and they would glorify God because there would be no question that something divine something amazing happened to me because if he didn't exist, if he didn't change me, then i would be scared i would be sad depressed or i would be the one doing the persecuting. And it all ends with that final moment of truth those words i long to hear "Well done my good and faithful servant" as im on my hands and knees with my face to the ground with streams of tears coming from my eyes and an extreme feeling of happiness and fear. And the Lord looks at me and smiles. I cant even begin to explain how much i want to hear those words yet how far i am from being that man. And it disgust me yet gives me hope because Christ can get me there. Im done i might've explained too much.

Sometimes I think the singles should be for singles only. But then I think of all the encouragement and good words I have got from married people here, and I truly appreciate them participating in the discussion.
I am very happy this forum is mostly good humored, non judgmental and an encouraging place to be. A place where we can share our silly things as well as the serious ones. I love that, and I love the people hanging around here. Last night I was moved to tears by some of the deep felt comments given here. Never have I experienced such love and compassion in a fellowship. And I pray that it will be kept that way.

I'm taking time this weekend to put together the survey for the last portion of my data collection. Prior to opening it up for responses from the population I've identified, I'd like to test it, and I'm asking any of you who reads this post and are willing to help me, to take the survey.

I think that is how they "prove" to you that whatever they are responding to hasn't got them to "lose their serious composure/cool", and that they have laughed it off. At least in real life these characters will smile and remain unresponsive when they feel out of control and don't know how to react.
I left a couple of notes in the answers.
1. I finished the survey and I'm STILL not sure whether you meant politically-correct safety as in "safe place" areas or job safety.
2. The question that references supervisors had far too many modifiers. I don't remember the exact wording but it was the second question, something like "Do(es) the supervisor(s) do his/her/their job in a way to promote work safety?" You could probably pare it down to "Do the supervisors do their jobs in a way to promote work safety?"
3. None of the questions was leading, and all the questions required better than a yes/no reply. Except for that/those question(s) with all the modifier(s) the survey could probably serve as a corporate survey for HR to use on the staff.

As for what I mean by safety...that's up to you and why the first question is asking for YOUR definition, so it frames all your subsequent responses. My job will be to figure out what people mean from what they say.

Overall; I provided generic answers on the survey itself, so ignore them.
Q1: Some minor wording corrections; “a safety climate” or “the safety climate” rather than simply, “safety climate”.
I assume your audience is familiar with the concept of a safety climate; I had to read through a couple of sentences to catch the gist. Perhaps a general topical introduction would be appropriate?
Q2 suggests less familiarity with the concept; it's not a term my workplace uses.
Q3 and Q4 “What do you feel” is a fuzzy question. Do you mean literally what are people's emotions on the subject, or what are their thoughts?
Q5 I suggest you reword to the following: “Please describe how the reliability of a supervisor's communication influences the safety climate. For example, does he or she change wording over time or with different audiences.” I'd also recommend a book by Stephen Covey Jr. called Building Trust in the Workplace. It addresses “communication trust”.
Q6 good
Q7 closely related to Q5; I'd suggest you focus on actions rather than words in Q7.
Q8 add an 's' to 'influence'
Q9 suggest change to “impacts” from “has an impact on”
Q10 Too touchy-feely; suggest change to “In what ways does your paycheck impact your perception of safety in the workplace?”
Time: About 10 minutes. I'd suggest it's a 15-minute survey, not an hour.

I'm not willing to introduce the term "safety climate" because I do not want to push respondents to think of it on MY terms, but their own. Safety climate can be thoughts, feelings and perceptions, so asking somewhat vague questions is needed so I can capture whatever is being given to me without trying to influence a respondent's answer.
