Oh yeah, that reminds me. Dino was right, the whole thing didn't even take a quarter hour, much less a whole hour.

Unless you're expecting to get MUCH longer answers...

I edited the opening statement to say it should take no more than 15-20 minutes.

Hi Jon,

I took your survey and thought it interesting. The questions and answers seemed a bit theoretical and nebulous, and consequently, the answers had to be theoretical and nebulous. Is that the kind of information you are looking for? What are you trying to analyze with these questions? What is the application?

What happened to the research on Qbit data storage? Did you make a complete change of your dissertation?

My committee would not approve my study where I was proposing the fractal data storage unless I took many more math classes, so I changed my study to another topic entirely.

Yes, the data is nebulous, and that's what I am trying to capture to back up my overall statement for the topic of "it's not entirely appropriate to try to quantify things like thought, feelings, and perceptions, and to do so means a lot of potential data streams are not being examined and conclusions are being drawn from flawed hypotheses"

As for application, there is none. This research is totally useless, but it's rigorous enough to get me a PhD.

Sometimes it strikes me how small marginals there are between a perfectly normal day and a major catastrophe.

Today I drove the University as normal. I looked at a field on my right side, and there I saw a moose moving towards the road. Luckily I saw it on the field so I had time to break down and the catastrophe was avoided. If I hadn't let my eyes in that direction, I probably would have crashed.

 And moose/car crashes are not cool...like, at all. And they don't seem to be afraid of cars, either!

I'm glad you are ok, Toinena.

To me, that sounds like a much-needed line of research. I think there is at least one book in it. I've seen far too many nebulous and poorly-worded survey/assessment questions. One can prove anything by the responses to a nebulous question... just look at politics! :)

Does the whole “no shave November” also apply to women?

Asking for a friend :)

Sure, why not?

Pit hair, hairy legs, and all the others...let that junk go native. If a man can handle snuggling up to a woman when she has a butt that feels like a frozen turkey in the middle of the night as well as freezing cold feet that get placed on him at the most inopportune times, a little (or a lot) of body hair shouldn't matter "if he really loves you".

Ice cube feet, frozen turkey butt, monkey girl. You betcha! Throw away them razors. Ain't nobody got time for that shaving junk.

XD I don’t believe I’ve laughed this hard at a comment on this forum in awhile lol.. but man! Hahaha!!!

I don’t have cold feet at night and I damn sure don’t have a turkey butt! lol but i can’t say I won’t have monkey legs every now and then... I’m just lazy and don’t care to shave all that much. Besides... it’s fall and about to be winter, ain’t gotta show off my white porcelain legs for anyone any time soon! Lol

For some reason I started humming an old song... "Did I shave my legs for this?"

Just as long as they're not singing, "Did I shave my back for this?"

If I heard someone singing that to themselves (male OR female), I would "back" away slowly.

On second thought, forget the slowly.

I would probably just run!

You know what’s weird...?

Having dreams about your ex... you both are married with families... and are still friends. But one keeps having dreams about the other. This is weirding me out!

4 times I’ve had dreams about him... and i don’t dream about guys often. O_O

Just read about the possibilities to get a scholarship to take a term in the States fall 2018. How can I justify going there? Should I rethink my topic for my thesis? (It has snowed this morning, roads are slippery, it is getting dark at 4. I hate Winter and I really want to get as far as possible away from it)

Good news. I received a grant today for my studies. I think I can take some off work now and concentrate upon my studies.
