What are things you enjoy doing on Earth that you hope you'll still do in Heaven? And what's something you aren't able to do or have trouble doing that you hope you're able to do in Heaven?

I heard some people talking about what they would do in Heaven. One said he would chip off a corner of one of those golden streets. One said he was going to soak his feet in the crystal river. Another guy said, "Hey wait a minute! I plan to get a drink out of that river."

I don't think I can really predict what I will do there. I've never been there. I don't think we will have to try to find entertainment though. I don't think boredom will be a major problem.

This thread title reminds me of a Jason Rapert song though:
After that first million years
I may get up and walk around
I may tour all over Heaven
In my robe and shiny crown
I may walk the streets of gold
See that river cool and clear
But I'm a-gonna praise Him
For the first million years

I think it's impossible to even guess what we might be doing in Heaven because the whole framework that governs our activities will be different.

On earth the primary motivation is survival. We work, we earn, we eat, we defend against, we struggle to achieve... striving is so integral to our existence that if we don't have anything to do we get bored! In Heaven there will be no struggle, no working just to survive. Our whole paradigm, our whole existence and means of perpetuation will be different.

It's like an earthworm trying to imagine flight. There is nothing to start with, no common ground that we can start from to extrapolate what we will be doing there.

I should mention that I am not trying to denigrate this thread. It's impossible to imagine it, but trying to imagine it anyway can be fun. =^.^=

That's a good question. I never thought of that. Sleeping in Heaven I've thought about, but never dreaming there. I have wondered if Heaven has a day and night cycle, though.

As the body of Christ, His hands and feet...I assume we would be with Christ wherever He goes. Doing what He will do...just being without anything negative I have experienced in this world because of sin. Perfection we can not fathom with the perfect Lord in a perfect place, doing perfect beautiful things.

First I'm going to take a nap and then I will go to McDonald's and get a Big Mac with fries and a strawberry shake. Gonna supersize it.

Sure there will be day and night cycles and change of seasons as well. There will also be sleep with dreams which will be unfulfilled ambitions which is the stuff that dreams are made of.

And the best thing about it is that you could eat whatever you want from McDonald's and never have to worry about getting fat or unhealthy. You could forget the documentary film Super Size Me.

I'm gonna shake, rattle and roll too. Your father may have missed the BIG events but he won't miss the MAIN event.

Just want to say:

Thanks for the reps and support, guys. I was kind of worried people would find this thread...well, stupid and unnecessary. But your warm reception to it really makes me glad I signed up here in the first place. Thanks guys. :)

Actually the Bible says there won't be such a thing as "night" in Heaven.

Will there be sleep? I dunno. I've never been there. Sleep is rest and recuperation from a hard day. I don't know that we will NEED sleep.

I believe that is mentions in Revelation that there will not be a need for light in the New Jerusalem but did not state specifically that there will not be night period for the new earth and the universe.

I'm hoping there will still be access to Cheetos Hot Fries.
but...they won't leave your fingers bright reddish-orange.

Imagine the possibilities. :)
