Pretty confident all of us are saved, guys. We must remember God is much bigger than what we can see. There's no need to question anyone's salvation.

I haven't had time to look at the sermons yet.

Pretty confident we're not all saved, but I've taken quite sometime talking to people before coming to that conclusion, so it's okay if you still think we all are. :)

No one has questioned anyones salvation Jair. This is a diversion to avoid answering to the verses....God alone is the judge...

the sermons are clear and helpful, take notes and enjoy them!

Solid post... we are all trying to help people come to truth.... we are not the judge God alone is.....
I have seen this many times where people would like to mute voices that differ from them....they try and put words in your mouth and suggest you said things that you did not say...

Has God predestined/ordained that some people are born to go to hell?

Predestined for hell? No! Absolutely not.

The balance view of the Bible regarding hell is that it is not intended to men originally so I concur that God did not predestined /ordained some people to go hell. Their rejection to Christ and his gospel brings them into the burning hell.

I did not attack anyones salvation...i stated the biblical truth that any truth is revealed and concealed....that goes for both believers and unbelievers....
No, what you did was quoted a Scripture passage which applied directly to UNBELIEVING PHARISEES AND ENEMIES OF CHRIST. That is the context, and you applied that directly to me (and by extension others who reject Calvinism).

It is those who rejected Christ who were blinded and were not allowed to understand the meaning of those parables. So if that is not an attack on my salvation and that of others, then of course you can pretend to make anything mean anything else.

As to my posts, I expose the fallacies and errors of Calvinism (just as I expose the false teachings of others), but I do not attack Calvinists. So when I said that your comment sounded Rosicrucian, it was the comment that was attacked, not you. I could say the same about other comments and say "That sounds Catholic" or "That sounds Christadelphian". It would be a comment on what was posted.

Well...allow me to offer a more reliable source;
This sounds like Jesus to me;
11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
12 For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.
13 Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:
15 For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

Hi Sir,

What are you trying to prove in here? Just asking asking..

Thanks

Sure thing, the passages were understood to be applied to those Pharisees who have rejected Christ teaching regarding the mysteries of the kingdom in the fulfillment of what Prophet Isaiah says.

At the time Jesus spoke those words, Saul of Tarsus was still persecuting Christians, he was unable to receive the truth. Truth comes from God. I do not need you putting words in my mouth and offering your thoughts on my motives.
i have given other verses that demonstrate the same truth....in other contexts.

It is those who rejected Christ who were blinded and were not allowed to understand the meaning of those parables.

Correct...and why could they not grasp it at that time...IT WAS NOT GIVEN TO THEM

Only God knows a persons heart...I am quite capable of telling someone what i think of them, but that is not what i am here for. Your wicked suggestion is a diversion for you to avoid direct responses to the issues at hand, I have seen it before so do not play the victim here. I have read several of your misguided posts to several others on here, and you accuse many of following false teaching.

As to my posts, I expose the fallacies and errors of Calvinism (just as I expose the false teachings of others),

In your mind you do. In reality you attack caricatures and try and put words in peoples mouths{posts] that they themself did not say. You post what you want...i would not censor your posts at all. Your error makes the truth shine forth, like that black velvet backround shows a pearl necklace.

but I do not attack Calvinists
.

That is your point of view, but many do not share it. We just do not whine about it...we let the scriptures answer your foul posts. I do not have thin skin...you can say whatever you want about me or my posts...just let me say what I say...you say what you say. If I need a spokesperson or press secretary I will let you know.

So when I said that your comment sounded Rosicrucian, it was the comment that was attacked, not you.

You posted what you posted....I did not whine about it did I? take your best shot, say what you want. I would rather respond scripturally....with direct quotes or principles from the scripture itself.....but again...I do not believe in censorship.
I could present stronger biblical arguments against the doctrines of grace than any I have seen you attempt.
If you have sincere questions rather than snide comments and strawmen... I am sure many here would help you, as I would attempt to do...but all truth comes from God, not me....I can just remove some obstacles for you.

No matter how you slice the pie..it is all the same....in other words....if I suggest your posts sound like the objections Satan had...that would be peachy keen???
You might be shaving a little bit too close.....If you are going to come after the Calvinists or anyone else on here...do not be shocked when they answer you according to what you offer to them. I have not seen you be accurate yet in speaking of what cals actually believe.....again....i do not whine about it...just answer...nice to chat with you:(

Hello Fredo.....

All truth that anyone receives is God given.....anytime a sermon is preached..truth is revealed, or concealed;
17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
here is post resurrection with disciples;
25 Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken:
26 Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?
27 And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.
and again;

31
And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight.

32 And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?

There are many such verses....again;

25 At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.
26 Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight.
27 All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.

But why did Jesus said this one? Since this was concerned of spiritual realities then no more can a fleshy mind can received such truth.

This carries that we need to expound the scriptures. You know I’m not fond of listening to a You Tube or taped messages. I love written messages. If you want to get across of the Baptist Confession of Faith then you may somehow relay this in a written form in a brief or simplified for discussion. For sure that will be nice.

Okay, but you are only giving me verses with no chapters and books. Is this the way you are trying to reveal truths? Yes it seems you have many verses for what? What’s the purpose of having bold and glaring colour red/blue verses? I don’t see any relevance on the topic on hand for it can be easily be done the same to anyone including you.

Example: Jesus said “Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures…” I can simply use the verse to turn this to you personally. Doing such Ad Homo is really bad and perhaps those who are doing it are already running out of gas. I personally believe, however, that you’re not yet out.

God bless

Ok awesome! All your replies have been helpful so far.

I want to ask some questions about Total Depravity. From the initial sound of it, it seems a bit redundant at first glance. Correct me if I'm wrong but the idea based on the definition of the words is that as we are born into sin, we are totally depraved. In other words there's not one good bone in our body. Not one inkling of goodness because of our fallen state. My question is, does that matter? Because of God's Holy nature, what does any 'amount' of depravity matter? Whether we are totally depraved, partially depraved, or have a speck of depravity on us, none of that can be acceptable to a Holy God. So why the emphasis on total?

Please don't misunderstand me. I do not ask these questions to challenge your views nor do I seek to 'convert' anyone to a non-Calvinist view. But I am genuinely curious and hopefully can gain a bit more understanding into these views. :)

Total depravity says, not that we are totally and completely depraved, but that every part of us is affected by sin. There is no part of us that does not fall short of God's perfection.
