Nah, they just got messed up by your religion. Which Christians have a hard time accepting that is possible.

In truth, my life, mind and soul is better since I left the religion behind. Nothing will convince me to turn back to a fairytale, since I have transformed into something better. Better than I was when I was a Christian.

Christianity isn't a religion, you were never truly converted and you're worse off: 2 Peter 2:21-22.
