You won't find this philosophy in the Bible. Desiring God = desiring righteousness.
They are righteous. Righteousness is a gift. Or do you need to join the not by works thread too?

If they are using cards for anything it is wrong, for all power and benefits come from the Spirit.

The Holy Spirit guides us in to all truth, and shows us things to come.

God gives us peace,love,and joy.

We do not use physical objects thinking there is power there, for there is not. That is what people do of the occult, because they are in to nature worship.

And the thing with cards is you can do them over, and it would have a different outcome, but if it is truth the outcome will be the same every time.

Like tarot cards lay them out,get a prediction, shuffle them, lay them out,a different prediction, but if it is truth then it would be the same every time.

Cards are no better than a magic eight ball they shake and get an answer.

The new age movement interpretation of the Bible that is based on the occult, nature worship, exalts people, spiritual evolution through nature, and Jesus is not Lord and Savior, but a good teacher(1 Timothy 4:1-5),and the new age movement is the future for this sinful world, and the time they will not want to listen to the truth of the Bible, but according to their own lusts.

With the cards it has to start some time when people who claim Christianity start looking at things from an occult point of view, and one thing leads to another, and the Bible says they some will depart from the faith, and will turn to an occult viewpoint of the Bible, until it is standard procedure in all the world as a unified religious system.

We would use cards for nothing that has to do with Christianity, and there is no benefit,or power,or truth there, but a waste of time, unless they want to use cards to play Euchre,or Spades,or Hearts,or a card game like that.
Nobody is defending using the cards.

So many people want the chance to damn others. Jesus, while hanging there dying, wouldn't even condemn the very people who were murdering Him. What power we have assumed is ours......

Well, Ok, we see you cannot give a straight, simple, honest answer to that straight-forward question.

I find it commendable that Shrume could do it with one word. (I happen to agree with him) I wonder if anyone else can?

I'm off to church in a few minutes, but I am looking forward to reading when I get back.
but you weren't asking me dude!

you can go to church for a week of Sundays..those scriptures ain't gonna change

you have such a transparent way of trying to sound like you have solved the big questions....what everyone else does not even know how to ask

notice I said transparent

You know very well that I was not defending Tarot cards. (I even specifically said that in no uncertain terms in one of my posts.) I was standing against the damning of people who honestly do believe their warped understanding of Scripture is God telling them to reach this entire lost group of "very unusual" people by using methods of communicating with them that they can understand and relate to. For anyone to approach them at one of their New Age Fairs (where these Bethel people seem to go to find them) wearing a three-piece suit and reciting Scripture at them from a Scofield would be a sure way to guarantee turning them off to your message.

My God has not told me that I have the right to deliberately condemn either of those groups... the weirdo church people, nor the freaky New Agers. But, he did tell me to resist hatred in any form. And these websites are nothing less.
[/QUOTE]

Yet you took that right anyways. You condemned every site that exposes the sins of these groups, these absolute heresies. They did the right thing, whether for the right reasons or not, and you condemned them for it.

Neither have you said the least little thing against the obvious heresies of these groups, while a faithful christian would be angry over such false teachings.

That says volumes about you.

what he actually said, and we can all read so I am not talking about him behind his back and don't even use the pm feature here so anything I say is public....

what he actually said, was that we should not judge the practice because, you know, Gamaliel...

which is why I supplied the verses that illustrate the opposite of what he said

it would be so much easier if when folks are wrong they would just admit it and go on instead of trying to trip up people with questions while dodging having to answer any themselves

I mean if one is going to argue with scripture that says to test the spirits and ignore that we should actually know the will of God (not personal but general which I don't think alotta people seem to grasp) so that we will not be tossed to and fro and moan that we do not know?

nothing more to say...this entire thread has only got this far because 2 people cannot stand the thought of Johnson et al being less than holy ...which of course they are in their own eyes

nonsense. only God can damn.

you are imagining a view from a lofty place you do not have

none but God have that lofty place, however we can and should examine the teachings

Do you know what I call someone who go to graves to "seek the annointing"?

Rebels, because they try to skip past God & do their own thing.

right

Paul plainly states that it is God who decides who gets what gift

yet, there are 'schools' to teach you how to become a prophet .... they decide who gets that anointing

which explains the false prophecies that no one is accountable for...but God hears and sees it all and they are simply heaping condemnation upon themselves just like the false prophets to Israel

they pasture themselves on the sheep and muddy the waters and fleece so close the blood flows

God is not mocked.

And yet Elisha went directly to Elijah to ask for the anointing the elder had.

when are you going to read the New Testament?

things are different now

Luke 11:9-13

[SUP]9 [/SUP]“So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. [SUP]10 [/SUP]For everyone who asks, receives; and he who seeks, finds; and to him who knocks, it will be opened. [SUP]11 [/SUP]Now suppose one of you fathers is asked by his son for a fish; he will not give him a snake instead of a fish, will he? [SUP]12 [/SUP]Or if he is asked for an egg, he will not give him a scorpion, will he? [SUP]13 [/SUP]If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?”

I love my husband! :)

I just presented this whole thing to him and asked his opinion if this could be God.

And he said, " I think they are just being all things to all people. Yes!

1 Corinthians 9:22 To the weak I became weak in order to win the weak. I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some of them.

1 Corinthians 9:23 I do all this for the sake of the gospel in order to have a share in its blessings.

Are you really gonna pull this card? [pun intended]

Not once, when Paul was confronted by people in the occult did Paul ever become one of them to win them. It was always the opposite, he took his authority in Christ and dealt with them.

Acts 13:4-12

[SUP]4 [/SUP]So, being sent out by the Holy Spirit, they went down to Seleucia and from there they sailed to Cyprus. [SUP]5 [/SUP]When they reached Salamis, they began to proclaim the word of God in the synagogues of the Jews; and they also had John as their helper. [SUP]6 [/SUP]When they had gone through the whole island as far as Paphos, they found a magician, a Jewish false prophet whose name was Bar-Jesus, [SUP]7 [/SUP]who was with the proconsul, Sergius Paulus, a man of intelligence. This man summoned Barnabas and Saul and sought to hear the word of God. [SUP]8 [/SUP]But Elymas the magician (for so his name is translated) was opposing them, seeking to turn the proconsul away from the faith. [SUP]9 [/SUP]But Saul, who was also known as Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit, fixed his gaze on him, [SUP]10 [/SUP]and said, “You who are full of all deceit and fraud, you son of the devil, you enemy of all righteousness, will you not cease to make crooked the straight ways of the Lord? [SUP]11 [/SUP]Now, behold, the hand of the Lord is upon you, and you will be blind and not see the sun for a time.” And immediately a mist and a darkness fell upon him, and he went about seeking those who would lead him by the hand. [SUP]12 [/SUP]Then the proconsul believed when he saw what had happened, being amazed at the teaching of the Lord.

Acts 16:16-18
[SUP]16 [/SUP]It happened that as we were going to the place of prayer, a slave-girl having a spirit of divination met us, who was bringing her masters much profit by fortune-telling. [SUP]17 [/SUP]Following after Paul and us, she kept crying out, saying, “These men are bond-servants of the Most High God, who are proclaiming to you the way of salvation.” [SUP]18 [/SUP]She continued doing this for many days. But Paul was greatly annoyed, and turned and said to the spirit, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her!” And it came out at that very moment.

Acts 19:11-19

[SUP]11 [/SUP]God was performing extraordinary miracles by the hands of Paul, [SUP]12 [/SUP]so that handkerchiefs or aprons were even carried from his body to the sick, and the diseases left them and the evil spirits went out. [SUP]13 [/SUP]But also some of the Jewish exorcists, who went from place to place, attempted to name over those who had the evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, “I adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preaches.” [SUP]14 [/SUP]Seven sons of one Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, were doing this. [SUP]15 [/SUP]And the evil spirit answered and said to them, “I recognize Jesus, and I know about Paul, but who are you?” [SUP]16 [/SUP]And the man, in whom was the evil spirit, leaped on them and subdued all of them and overpowered them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded. [SUP]17 [/SUP]This became known to all, both Jews and Greeks, who lived in Ephesus; and fear fell upon them all and the name of the Lord Jesus was being magnified. [SUP]18 [/SUP]Many also of those who had believed kept coming, confessing and disclosing their practices. [SUP]19 [/SUP]And many of those who practiced magic brought their books together and began burning them in the sight of everyone; and they counted up the price of them and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver. [SUP]20 [/SUP]So the word of the Lord was growing mightily and prevailing.

Now please show us where Paul became an occultist to win the occultist?

I think you are simply trying to be cute and spiritual to one up a fellow woman poster you highly dislike. You do this and butcher God's word and implicate you and your husband at your own risk woman. God is not mocked, you need to repent.

You know Shrume, I don't drink, have never drank alcohol before I was saved, never did any illegal drugs, was raising babies while finishing high school. Married young.

But...when visiting the mother of a friend of my husbands, she offered me a glass of wine. I would of said no, but Holy Spirit spoke to me and said take it, she will be offended if you don't. So I did.

Wish I had remembered this earlier. :)
Comparing drinking alcohol, which is not a sin unless the Holy Spirit says it is sin for you, is not even in the same league as giving the powers of darkness masquerading as angels of light an free and complete pass.

Are you really this misguided and tone deaf?

Best to do what you hear in your Spirit.
No, its best to do what the Holy Spirit leads and Tell's you do to. We never listen to our own spirit, we listen to The Spirit bearing witness to our spirit and then comply with instant obedience.

Te Holy Spirit is not behind tarot card reading pagan, claiming they are full of light.

Matt 6:22-23 perfectly describes Christ-alignment people and maybe even some condoming them like Bethel

[SUP]22 [/SUP]“The eye is the lamp of the body; so then if your eye is clear, your whole body will be full of light. [SUP]23 [/SUP]But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light that is in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!

I call them zealous for God. Right or wrong, they desire God.
Yeah so did this guy:

Acts 8:14-24

[SUP]14 [/SUP]Now when the apostles in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent them Peter and John, [SUP]15 [/SUP]who came down and prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit. [SUP]16 [/SUP]For He had not yet fallen upon any of them; they had simply been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. [SUP]17 [/SUP]Then they began laying their hands on them, and they were receiving the Holy Spirit. [SUP]18 [/SUP]Now when Simon saw that the Spirit was bestowed through the laying on of the apostles’ hands, he offered them money, [SUP]19 [/SUP]saying, “Give this authority to me as well, so that everyone on whom I lay my hands may receive the Holy Spirit.” [SUP]20 [/SUP]But Peter said to him, “May your silver perish with you, because you thought you could obtain the gift of God with money! [SUP]21 [/SUP]You have no part or portion in this matter, for your heart is not right before God. [SUP]22 [/SUP]Therefore repent of this wickedness of yours, and pray the Lord that, if possible, the intention of your heart may be forgiven you. [SUP]23 [/SUP]For I see that you are in the gall of bitterness and in the bondage of iniquity.” [SUP]24 [/SUP]But Simon answered and said, “Pray to the Lord for me yourselves, so that nothing of what you have said may come upon me.”

One up another? No, that's not my intention. It's finding truth. You did say one thing in a post that I agree with though. I find it very unChristlike for anyone to judge the ministry of Bill Johnson. Not saying those under him, but he himself. And I've always heard that if we criticize others ministry, we will never have our own.

Unless you can find blatent sin in a life, I would be careful in this matter. Before our own master, we all stand or fall. It's my opinion that God is judging many right now in all areas of life.

So you dont know me at all. And I suspect you are still angry with me. That's your problem.

Every word that Jesus spoke while he was alive, was during the "Old Testament."

so do we keep the commandments then?

see how that goes?

quite dodging questions and telling us we should answer YOUR questions

Jesus has ascended to heaven. Which testament do you live under?

so we should become a drunk or a prostitute or a murderer or a rapist?

better think twice on that one

obviously that scripture does not mean what you are trying to make it mean

if Paul says he becomes weak to the weak, does that mean he is weak Christian?

the context does not support what you are saying. Paul makes the point that he has liberty in Christ...but then he also states that we should not offend those who are weaker

think about that

what he is saying, is that even though he is free, he will not use that freedom if it means hurting someone

he is not saying do what sinners are doing or join them to win them

yet aren't you of the belief that we are no longer under judgement?

or do I have you mixed up with someone else in the 'not by works' thread?

how are we under judgement if we are no longer considered under judgement?

thought there is now therefore no condemnation to those who are in Christ?

are we saved or not? who is God judging exactly?
