Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. Galatians 2:15,16

I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain. v.21

Amen.....and to try to blend the two is like oil and water.....it is impossible to be justified by faith and then completed by the works of the law........faith and faith alone is what justifies a man before God....

now watch James be yanked out of context in opposition to the truth!

James never said that works produce salvation, or that faith plus works can save. He said that good works always accompany true saving faith.

14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?

How does James answer this question?

Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. Galatians 2:15,16

I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain. v.21

Paul said we do not void out the law through faith, but we establish the law,and the law is spiritual, holy, just, and good, the moral laws, laws of love.

The Bible says that if a person hates sin,and does not want sin, then by the Spirit they can abstain from sin,for a Spirit led life will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh, for they crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts, and show the ways of the Spirit in which there are no ways of the flesh there, and God will not allow them to be tempted above what they are able, and with the temptation will give them a way to escape,so they are able to bear it.

A Spirit led life will not sin,so they are not under the law, which means the law cannot touch them for prosecution, but if they sin,or hold unto sin, they are under the law, until they repent of it,and mean it,and allow the Spirit to lead them hating sin.

The Bible says that by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified,no flesh, but by the Spirit we can establish the law like Paul said we have to do,for we are not following the flesh, but the Spirit being spiritual.

People should know when Paul is speaking according to the flesh, and the Spirit, and stop dragging when he is talking according to the flesh throughout their walk with God.

Paul said he could have all faith so that he could remove mountains, but if he did not have charity, love in action, than he is nothing, and said love does not think an evil thought, and does not sin by the Spirit, and is not arrogant, and not selfish, and not unkind, and only goes by their needs, and not their wants, and helps the poor and needy with their needs if possible.

A Spirit led life will not sin,and can establish the law, which is to live up to the law,not you are not under the law as some might think, but you are not under the law because you are not sinning,so the law cannot touch you for prosecution.

People that believe they cannot abstain from sin,and sin does not affect their relationship with God,and the prosperity doctrine,do not know truth, and it comes from the flesh.

By the works of the law no flesh shall be justified, not no person led of the Spirit will be justified, for by the Spirit we can live up to the law.

Like faith alone, and not saved by works, again Paul is speaking according to the flesh, which means it is faith alone, and not saved by works when we confess Christ, for that is all we can do for we have not received the Spirit yet,and our works are as filthy rags.

But after a person receives the Spirit then it is faith without works is dead, and a person is justified by works, and not faith alone, and if we lack then our faith lacks, which Jesus addressed 2 Churches in Revelation, and said their works lacked, and to repent.

Which Paul said according to the Spirit, have charity, works of love,or you are nothing, and you have erred from the faith, which he is speaking the same thing as James in the spiritual, faith without works is dead.

People have to know when Paul is speaking according to the flesh,or the Spirit, and stop dragging when he is speaking according to the flesh throughout their Christian walk.

1Co 15:33 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.
1Co 15:34 Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.

1Jn 3:7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
1Jn 3:10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

Our righteousness is as filthy rags when we are in the flesh confessing Christ, for we have not received the Spirit yet when we initially confess Christ.

But when we receive the Spirit then we have to have to do righteousness, which the Bible says it is an action,to be right with God.

How does James answer this question?

Faith that doesn't produce good works is not true faith and no it cannot save him.

Paul said we do not void out the law through faith, but we establish the law,and the law is spiritual, holy, just, and good, the moral laws, laws of love.

O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you. This only would I learn of you. Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh? Galatians 3:1-3

Tell that to a few on here who say they are required or you lose your salvation......which is false....

Your comment made me think of a church I joined once and we had an orientation class and people were asked to talk about their salvation experience. An elderly man and woman talked about the churches they had been members of. I was dumbstruck to say the least.

Yeah many are flat confused, blind to the truth or just adamently stand opposed to it because of pride or something they were taught or that so and so believed....I had a man once say to me that Goad would not send a moral decent person to hell and if that was good enough for his daddy it was good enough for him......tragic end for that man.....!

Like the saying goes: "The road to hell is paved with good intentions."

That's exactly what James 2:14 is speaking of, such is not true faith at all!

True, true faith needs evidence. The faith that justifies the believer is not his own faith, but the faith of Jesus Christ.

Galatians 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

Galatians 3:22 But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.

Philippians 3:9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

Romans 3:22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:

Where's the evidence of Christ's faith? Christ's obedience unto death, even the death of the cross.Philippians 2:8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain. v.21
Galatians was written to settle the issue of whether sinners are justified by grace through faith, or by the works of the Law. And as stated above, if righteousness could be established by the works of the Law, then Christ died in vain.

It looks like the lessons which were taught in this epistle have failed to register with a lot of people who continue to promote the idea that Torah observance can make a person righteous in the eyes of God. Or salvation must be a blend of grace + works.

The truth is that it is very difficult for human beings to believe that God actually gives the gift of eternal life to those who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. The basic premise is the worldly notion that "There is no such thing as a free lunch", so why in the world would God give the most precious gift to unworthy and undeserving sinners?

On top of that, in the eyes of some it is preposterous that God will actually declare a sinner as "Not Guilty" and go even further and declare him as "Righteous" for simply repenting and believing on the Savior. That is just not "fair", since people need to work for their salvation, and earn their way to Heaven (according to human wisdom). And this is why Paul had to battle the Judaizers in the apostolic churches. But they are still around today and simply cannot accept Gospel truth. They must add something to what Christ has already accomplished, whether it is baptism, or circumcision, or the sacraments.

It is 100% faith in the grace of Jesus
But when we are judged some that believe will not be saved.
Knowing about Jesus and knowing about the gospel isn't the same as having faith. So what makes the difference?

I would think not.

If we continue to follow faith of as belonging to God and not faith in coming from us a result of hearing him. then James will be reconciled . Showing us if we were to have the faith that exclusively belongs to Christ (of)in respect to men (in) seen we have committed blaspheming of the Spirit .

Therefore it reconciles Ephesian 2 with James 2. Both saying the same.Do not violate the first commandment.

From my experience many refuse to recognize whose faith is in view. Many say God does not need faith, so they change the rendering into faith in towards God rather that His faith of ,towards us.

Jam 2:1 My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons.

the conclusion...

Jam 2:7 Do not they blaspheme that worthy name by the which ye are called?

Sadly we have modern day Judaizers. It drives me up a tree when they avoid using the name “JESUS” which is the Anglicized form of the Greek “IESOUS” used by Paul. Incidentally, “IESOUS” has been verified in a plethora of ancient manuals, the earliest manuscripts dating c.125. Instead, JUDAIZERS refer to Jesus as YAHSHUA or Yahoshua Hamashiach. When the Philippian jailer asked Paul and Silas what he must do to be saved they said "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house." Acts 16:30, 31 They didn't tell him he had to become a Jew to be saved.

I think one of the most profound things Paul said about the Jews was when he was talking about the Jews future restoration Paul said "As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes." Romans 11:28a

14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?

How does James answer this question?

James answers that Saving Faith produces works, as does Paul in Eph 2:10.

NOWHERE does James or Paul suggest that the works produced by Saving Faith will be works of the Law.

The works produced by Saving Faith will in fact be works of the Holy Spirit.

That is true, and love is the fulfilling of the law, which we can only love perfectly if we are led of the Spirit.

Out of faith, hope, and charity, love in action, charity is the greatest.

Charity is greater than faith, and faith works by love,so if there is a lack of love there is a lack of faith.

Paul said he could have all faith so that he could remove mountains, but if he did not have charity, then he is nothing, and out of all that we did on earth, only love will continue on forever, for hope, and faith, and knowledge, and prophesy, and tongues, are not needed in heaven.

Paul said if they did not have charity, then they have erred from the faith.

James said if they do not have charity then their faith is dead, which is why he pointed out if you say to people be warmed, and filled, but do not help them with their needs if possible, then your faith is dead.James was speaking of having works of loving people, and loving God,which Abraham was justified by works when he obeyed God concerning Isaac, and Rahab was justified by works when she helped the 2 Jewish men, which we are led of the Spirit, and do what God wants us to do,and help people.

John said if they do not have charity then the love of God does not dwell in them,so do not love in word only, but in deed and truth.

It is about being led of the Spirit, and showing love to people, which includes helping the poor, for faith to be active in our life.

Paul said if any person believes that God blesses with money, and material things, for their wants,to withdraw yourselves from them, having food, and clothing,be content.

Paul,James, and John, say the same thing,be led of the Spirit and have love towards people.

We see a lot of people that lack loving people like they should, then their faith would lack.

The laws we go by are the laws of love, moral laws,by the Spirit.
