There is a difference between constructive criticism and personal attacks.

One helps you grow and is often called exhortation in the Bible.

The other is only meant to tear you down...law without grace or forgiveness.
Would you have listened any other way?

Ariel, did you gossip about me in another thread? Was your motive to get others to side with you?

No I don't gossip about people. I speak clearly and directly to the person.

For some reason what I say seems to be hard for you to understand tonight.

We have a failure to communicate, but I will not bicker with you about it.

I will be more direct.

I believe p4t hates my guts.

Would my assessment be true or false based on what you have read him post to and about me?

I take his and the New guys attacks as personal attacks upon me. Would this be a true or false assessment?

I don't attack people. I point out and rebuke false doctrine and behavior that dos not reflect God's light and love

I am not perfect by any means. I can get anger and speak out of anger instead of love.

I can misread someone.

However I try and apologize when God shows me my sins

perhaps you are right, but you say I attacked you. I go to another thread to read, spiritual warfare, and you say there you are going to read in order to know why you were attacked.

Hard for me to understand sounds a bit condescending too. See how that works Ariel? We all can say things written and misunderstand because we aren't face to face.

So best for me to leave you alone, but that doesn't mean I won't post when I see error. Or what I perceive to be error.

You are asking me about preacher? I read nothing by him about you. Am not the one to ask.

Maybe he deleted it. I am not going to search for it, maybe God spoke to him.

Anyway...

This is the accusation made about me in this thread that you answered and appeared to agree with:

"

How should I deal with one who blasphemes the Holy Spirit and the church of God?"

The guy has leveled a strong charge against me personally.

Read his post again.

My question is do you agree with him?

Should I really ask for his forgiveness, when he is the one accusing?

I saw someone make a post just like that (the post ended with that question), but it was someone else... though I am not sure who it was aimed at; they were talking about their spirit filled church and everyone receiving the gift of tongues...

It would be inappropriate for me to say who, but I was wondering which thread it was in (I just looked for it but did not look in yours), and I had noticed as it was happening that your thread had gone off on the tongues'... detour.

Eh well one of the first unspoken rules about the bdf is that if you make a thread there is a good chance it will be taken over lol

Seek the kingdom is what Jesus said. He did not say seek love! Love sent Him, there's nothing to seek, it was given.
Just I was trying to say don't seek spiritual gifts but seek first God and a personal relationship with Him. Learn to walk with Him and live holy and righteous lives.

The gifts will be give. Your job of ministry in the church will be revealed but first we have to understand God's love and allow Him to transform our hearts and minds..get rid of strongholds and lies that enslave us, learn His truth and ways and humble ourselves and be willing to be taught...before we should try and work.

We start as babes drinking the pure milk, then learn to walk...when we are mature and firm in Christ. When we are adults then God reveals our mission.

Jesus spoke at synagogue at 13 but His miracles and sermons didn't really start until 30.

People often rush to the big events and don't realise how God works in our lives during the quiet time.

I hope that makes more sense.

Sorry for typos....little screen, bad eye sight not a good combo,

Yes it was Waggles.
Don't take kindly to other Christians blaspheming Pentecost
baptism of water and the Holy Spirit with the sign [not gift]
of speaking in other tongues

Read my posts
I do not trash Lutherans or Methodists, or others
I do not accuse others on this site as being of the devil as
I and Pentecost have been.
I stick to upholding and sharing the full gospel of salvation

Yet those not of Pentecost are very free with the slander and
the accusations of false miracles and signs through Satan.

Was this not this same accusation levelled against Jesus himself,
and what was his response?

I began questioninig Spiritual gifts when I was 14. It began with God growing fruits such as love and faith. You must absolutely have the love of God to have Spiritual gifts. My understanding in this is Jesus Christ.
I began with tongues...the Holy Spirit finding the words to utter to Christ in prayer when my flesh can not. Edification of self.
Next came prophesy. This was spoken in church to the congregation from God and interpreted by the pastor. Again...spoken from my lips by the Holy Spirit. This was to edify the church.
Then I was given the gift of healing. God has allowed me to help many people in pain. I'm not talking about miraculous healing. I'm talking about the ability to use my hands to relieve headaches, body aches and pains, to help relax the mind, and help people sleep.

Some Christians believe that the Spiritual gifts ended, but according to 1 Corinthians 13:10 and my personal gift, Spiritual gifts do not end until the Perfect...Christ returns.

I believe gifts can be faked and made to be a mockery.
There have been scientic studies done on the brain during someone speaking in the Spirit. Very interesting. See, I was told that you feel the Holy Spirit move and you begin to speak. That your brain can think of other things...you can count etc...because the Holy Spirit does not need to use the brain to borrow your body and mouth. This is true in my experience as well.
The Bible says that Spiritual gifts are not for everyone. I think that we receive them according to our purpose in His works that we walk in.

I apologise to everyone for the confusion.

I fell into the trap of commenting before fully praying and reading the other thread.

I realise now why Waggies accused me. Perhaps the other two did not realize the personal nature or reason for the accusation and had responded honestly and innocently to the statement.

I shouldn't have spoken out of hurt but prayed until my soul was at peace again,

However I will not agree with Waggies in condemning anyone who does not speak in tongues by telling them they do not have the Holy spirit and believe it wrong to judge others salvation by accusing them of blasphaming the Holy spirit by pointing out the error of a church who teaches this false doctrine.

So Waggies you are free to choose signs and wonders and tongues and stand for "Pentecost"

However as for me and my house, we shall serve the Lord.

We will choose the beggar from Nazareth, who preaches from the street who told His Apostles to that they had to give up everything to follow Him, who promised them not riches on this earth but perscution and suffer, who points people to a Heavenly reward and not an earthly one, who tells us that the blind man did not suffer because of sin of either him or his parents. I will worship a God who loves the widow and orphans. Whose disciples were often beaten, thrown in prison and even killed as in the case of Stephen. I chose God who loves us no matter what clothes we wear, no matter our past sins.

If your church worships the same God then good.

If however your church follows an Angel of light who dresses his ministers in Armani suits, who peddles candy coated ding in the form of "name it and claim it" where he offers false promises that if YOU desire it God will give it to you, instead of encouraging that you ALLOW GOD TO CHANGE YOUR DESIRES TO MAKE HIS. Then we do not worship the same God at all.

To be clear I do believe some people pray in an angelic language and that God hears and understands us when we do even if it's just a whisper.

I am not against speaking in tongues. I am against using God's gifts for monetary gain or power over other people.
.I am against people who condemn and oppress others and make them question God's love for them.

I know I have the Holy spirit within me. So such accusations don't make me question my salvation but it does make me angry on the behalf of young or weak christians who have just started walking with God.

Child abuse has never been acceptable to me. Telling a baby Christian that they don't have the Holy spirit because they don't speak in tongues upon demand is abuse upon a Child of God and needs to be spoken against.
