God created one heaven and one earth in the beginning.
Later he created two additional heavens.
Now there are three.

This does not reconcile with either the Hebrew or with the English. In Genesis 1:1, the verb is bara - "created". In verse 7, where the "firmament" appears between the waters, the verb is wayya'as - "made", not "created". They are different concepts. Further, the firmament between the waters is where both the birds and the "great lights" are placed. God only made this one "heaven" - the one between the waters. That leaves two....

[/FONT]So you see it clearly on the same page, the translators left notes which are included in the margin or at the bottom of the page. You are told that some manuscripts differ and how. It seems an honest way of doing it.

Because the author of Hebrews confirms that the Septuagint reading is the correct one, the KJV got it wrong in the OT, IMHO.

I found it is the only bible listed on biblehub.com that uses "body you have prepared for me" in the psalm, but on other places it seems to go by masoretic readings.

Which is a strange mixture. It seems that they used masoretic text generally and corrected it in "important" prophetic places.

The King James is not the original manuscript. And so, King James is still a translation and can have translation errors.

As to your question, since there is no doubt whatsoever that the Hebrew Masoretic text has mine ears hast thou opened, the only thing left for us to do is interpret it in the light of what is shown in the NT.

The only way to interpret that properly is to note that that phrase indicates a DIVINE IMPERATIVE that there was no alternative except for the Son of God to take human form and become the Lamb of God who would take away the sin of the world. "Mine ears hast thou opened" indicates that Christ was FULLY AWARE of the need for His incarnation even before the foundation of the world. So the Holy Spirit interprets this for us in Hebrews 10:5 by showing us that the meaning of "mine ears has thou opened" is that Christ already understood that it would mean " a body hast thou prepared for me".

Well, the concern of Joseppi is in the beginning when God created the heaven and the earth. As I posted in number 1597, that even the NASB translators believed that the Hebrew rendered as in the KJV can be used as singular and plural so that in this case the context determines the true renderings of the text and the KJV is correct.. Genesis 2 accounts is said to be the finished creation after then God rested so that the Translators of the 1611 Holy Bible, the KJV is not ignoramus of using singular and plural Hebrew word.

More nonsense. For over 300 years that was the leading & sole English language Bible all around the world. But if you wish to ignore the most faithful and accurate translation that is your loss.

As to "God's message to mankind" the Trinitarian Bible Society has made it their mandate that every language will have a translation which is equivalent to the Authorized Version. They are unequivocally committed to the traditional Hebrew and Greek texts as well as the KJB. They have also published dozens of pamphlets exposing the corruptions in the modern versions.

Not every, but most. And the reason is simple, most of English translations use masoretic text as source text.

As you said in another post, this error is in most of English translations, so I am attacking a perfectness of NIV, ESV etc too.


And if you "reject all modern Bible versions", then I am uncertain why you use them as a proof that the Psalm is OK in the KJV.
