It's a bit of a puzzle in it's self. In verse 4 the first thing he does is warn them that it would be easy to deceive them because of what they were asking. Then is something else puzzling to me in verse 5 about those doing the deceiving Matthew 24 Interlinear Bible ...

What do you see him as saying in verse 5 is he saying that they would say "they were the Christ" or would they come and say that "Jesus was the Christ and deceive many"?

Jesus quoted what the deceivers would say concerning themselves.
Namely...Iam Christ.

Note: that is the spirit of antichrist, and it is found in the new age teachings.
To discern new age teachings in the churches all we essentially need to understand about those teachings is that they take the things that are found in the body of Christ and simply apply them as if they exist outside the body of Christ.
Thus the spirit of antichrist denies that Jesus Christ came in the flesh.
That is, they deny that Jesus is the only begotten Son of God.
For, if they confessed that Jesus of Nazareth is the only begotten Son of God, in whom God is well pleased, then they can't reason they are, as they claim to be, christs also.

However, it can be a bit harder to recognize the antichrist spirit in the churches because they present the "Iam Christ" lie initially by claiming to be anointed of God.
They fail to teach that the anointing of God is upon the head of Jesus, and not upon the head of another man.
As I said, they take the things that belong only to Jesus, and apply it themselves, outside the body of Christ.
Consider the doctrine of Simon the Magician.

Galatians 16I am astonished how quickly you are deserting the One who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— 7which is not even a gospel. Evidently some people are troubling you and trying to distort the gospel of Christ.8But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be under a divine curse! 9As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you embraced, let him be under a divine curse!

2 Corinthians 11:4 You happily put up with whatever anyone tells you, even if they preach a different Jesus than the one we preach, or a different kind of Spirit than the one you received, or a different kind of gospel than the one you believed.

1 Timothy 4:4 Now the Holy Spirit tells us clearly that in the last times some will turn away from the true faith; they will follow deceptive spirits and teachings that come from demons. 2 These people are hypocrites and liars, and their consciences are dead.[a]3 They will say it is wrong to be married and wrong to eat certain foods. But God created those foods to be eaten with thanks by faithful people who know the truth.

Hope this helps, There was warnings about not listening to those who came preaching a different Gospel, or a different Jesus Christ, that was not the same as the Apostles where teaching, to warn them about the deception around them, to keep the truth faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, who came, died, and raised again, and wait patiently for Him to come back (cause He was going to come back and gather His church, but they needed to stay true to the Gospel that was the Truth, and not a false hooded Gospel. Like those who told those it was wrong to be married, and wrong to eat certain foods.

there may be a few other scriptures I forgotten.

I will it say it has no effect on me believing the Lord Jesus Christ Return already. Because I believe in fulfillment escatology. End time has been fulfilled, these are just captured memories of things said to the believers back then and they have application in them for us spiritually to understand that we can marry, and eat foods, and live a life in the spirit in freedom of condemnation for those who beleive in the Lord Jesus Christ who came down, died, rose again by God. Loving God and others!

But it is there for a warning for them back then because of those who would come doing such things.

You can help someone who doesnt understand fully to to make them understand the Truth in the Lord Jesus Christ.

God bless thanks for your time.

That depends how you see Matthew 24:3 where they ask about the end of the "age". If one age ends and another begins then is there something that you can be judged for in the age that comes after the one in Matt.24:3 ? In Matthew 12:31-32 Jesus says that there is something you can be judged for doing so even when the age in Matthew 24:3 ends/ended and the next comes/came then there is an judgment spoken of to follow either of the two...

Matthew 12:31-32 32 And whoever may speak a word against the Son of Man it shall be forgiven to him, but whoever may speak against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this age, nor in that which is coming.

This one. I don't think anyone see Jesus Christ doing miracles anymore and say that it was from the devil, like when He was walking around that they did.

looking deep as I can, the age that was then was the Age of Moses/Law. The Age to come is Messiah, and the new covenant.

My only question is, can a person go there whole life no matter how they lived it, accept the Lord Jesus Christ in their life on there death bed and be saved?

Maybe that is not the right question but I believe that I did give the right answer. I don't know. It is a good question though... Even though I do believe in total reconciliationism.

Any way you look at what your saying you are seeing it as though that in the "present age" that you can be saved or not be saved based on doing or believing something so you see judgment in a future tense.

Brother Iamsoandso,

Yes, pretty much that is what I am saying, anyone can accept the Lord Jesus Christ now, and instantly have a relationship with God now, now matter how much they may have reviled Him before, they can come to the knowledge of the Truth in the Lord Jesus Christ in a change of mind of the direction they once where heading being saved in this life and have a relationship with God now instead of having to go through Hell/lake of fire.

Which I believe some may have to go through, but they will end up coming out to the knowledge of truth in the Lord Jesus Christ, and come to repentance even then.

Confessing Jesus Christ is the Lord for the Glory of the Father. Which I am sure He gets satisfaction when any of His creation, come to the truth and finally accept willingly, and not forcefully. They may not have been children, or a son or a daughter of God, but can still be reconciled, because I don't think He would leave anyone in Hell forever, or the Lake of fire forever.

God bless.

Revelation 20 Interlinear Bible
Revelation 20:10 would then be a problem

Romans 6:23: "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Death is death, not everlasting life in a fire.

I believe Satan and the fallen angels also will die, when God is done with them. I base this on the following scripture: “Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto him, thus saith the Lord God; thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty. Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: The workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created. Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: Thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee. By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: Therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: And I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire. Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee. Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee. All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: Thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more” (Ezekiel 28:12-19). The king of Tyrus, referred to here, was obviously Satan. He was the only covering cherub that was cast out of God’s government. You see, it was God that gave the fallen angels the immortality—He can also take it away.

God is in the process of removing evil from the universe. God is a God of love. If He allowed the evil being to continue anywhere forever, that would be most unkind to them. Would not a God of love let anyone, that couldn't quite cut with Him, be destroyed instead of tortured forever. Some people are going to turn evil despite any influence acted upon them.

Originally I was going to add also, the Devil/Beast/False Prophet. Excluding them from being saved.

But for everyone else, I see differently.

I don't even know what cessationist, and continuist are! Time to look it up and get a fix on what you're talking about here friend. :)

It's regarding whether you believe the gifts of the Holy Spirit have ceased or continue to this day. There are those here who believe they have ceased, and that any manifestation of them today is the result of a demon (especially when the topic is tongues).

Then Revelation 20:15 would clear up the rest I would think...

You are very in-depth brother MarcR. I love your knowledge of History here. But I don't know about the whole Israel rebirth thing that just sounds like a way to keep this claim that Matthew 24 wasn't fully functional when He said it the first time, when He talked to their Generation and only that Generation. :) God bless, all in this site and your families.
The Generation that was alive when spoke Mat 24 did pass with many elements of that prophesy unfulfilled.

I believe that at least one person who was alive on 11/17/1947 will live to witness the Lord's return.

Yes, but the lake of fire can be seen as a purification purpose for God, because I find this verse here intresting that if anyone was to go to the lake of fire, they would be in front the Lamb and His holy angels.

Revelation 14:10 must drink the wine of God's anger. It has been poured full strength into God's cup of wrath. And they will be tormented with fire and burning sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and the Lamb.

It speaks to me about a burning away, and only drinking a cup of God's wrath, It's not like it says God's endless wrath upon them.

I find it interesting this view, and I still stick to total reconcliationism.

Romans 6:23: "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Death is death, not everlasting life in a fire.

Sister God bless you, and your heart. I wouldn't want anyone to be destoryed maybe the beast/false prophet/devil but I understand what you mean. Jesus Christ has his feet on top of Satan, everything has been placed beneath His feet, and God in control now from the way I see it my dear friend.

Oh I see, yeah demons are moot. No reason to even worry about all that, but I believe the holy spirit does still work in and through believers, and the tounge thing, uhhhhh I'm not all for it but if someone wants to believe it go for it.

How so?

Rev 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Rev 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

Do you think that the new heaven and earth John sees is different from Isaiah were John is getting this from?

Isa 65:17 For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.

We see that in contradiction to the futurist literal view that there is still death and sin:

Isa 65:20 There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days: for the child shall die an hundred years old; but the sinner being an hundred years old shall be accursed.

lol, Now we could debate over to see it literal or spiritual but the length of it's duration explained in Revelation 20:10 will still remain the same.

Can't be dogmatic about anything, but we are allow to express views, and discuss the things we find in scripture, by the holy spirit that indwells us all.

:)

Thank you Father in heaven for everything you have done, and your son our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, bless all these men and women here in Jesus Christ name, amen.
