I hate them... I had to get a cat-scan with iv-contrast; they poked me 5 times hit the vain 3 of the 5 and every time my vein blew before they could get the contrast in. So I had to reschedule and go for round two. I could not be an IV user if I wanted to. I have one decent vein between my two left knuckles, if I hold my hand just right, to draw blood.... What's "funny" if I am type 1 diabetic and get blood test every 3 mo for the past 38 years....lol....

Sorry, there's a poll. I just put it up.

I can't edit my OP anymore =(

So, for more information, I mean blood test as in when someone inserts a needle into your vein and sucks blood out of ya.
Oh... I should change my vote then. I don't like getting a needle stuck repeatedly into the crook of my elbow. If the blood sucker could reliably hit the vein the first time, I can tolerate it. After the 2nd "miss", I'm usually done. I was going to give blood not too long ago, and the "nurse" tried 3 or 4 times in my left arm, then got another nurse, who tried 2 or 3 times in my right arm. I stopped them, and left.

I apparently have veins that are difficult to locate, in my arms.

Now, I just tell them to use a vein in the back of my hand. They are prominent enough that even I could hit one of them first try.

Hmmm, something I never considered. When getting an epidural, the patient is supposed to roll on their side and roll up in the fetal position or lie on your stomach. How do VERY pregnant women do that?
They had me hold a pillow on my lap and bend as far forward as I could.

Once, when I was in a military hospital, they were trying to draw blood from this very large (big) guy. Apparently they really had to get blood from him, because after several tries, they called in a doctor with two nurses and drew blood from his jugular vein (the big one in your neck). Quite an involved and risky procedure, but they got the blood they needed.

I much prefer having the needle stuck into my eye. I occasionally tell them to jam the needle into my neck, if my eyes are watery that day

I had holes poked in my retinas. And, one of the things they can do for wet macular degeneration now, is shoot you with some kind of medicine -- right into your eyes.

They aren't opposed to needles in your eye.

Read this book in english. This woman was addicted to needles. She gave up when she had no more places to poke herself in her arms (i suppose).
