See the man without a hat! That's a city slicker. You can pick 'em out.

My mother was born in Big Springs Texas, so I'm half Texan by birth. I drink Shiner Bock, and my favorite chain restaurant is Texas Roadhouse.

What does that get me?

I'm not so sure how genuine, red-blooded, born-and-raised Texans are going to feel about hybrids...

I'm not sure about anything. Virginians don't mix with Texans much. We are in competition as to who executes the most murderers. Texas may have executed more, but Virginia has a higher rate of executions.

I do prefer Carolina barbeque.

I read this as, "I... prefer CATHOLIC barbecue."

I'm pretty sure this could be the start of a whole other set of threads in the BDF.

Catholic barbeques probably have a whole lot more booze :D

Or, did you mean roasting up the Catholics like they used to roast Protestants?

This should be a thing. The thread, I mean. Because I’m really unsure what Catholic barbecue would entail...

They would not need any Mari-nading. They are drenched in Mari-ology already

I should state for the record, that I did not in any way mean to disrespect or insult Catholics.

I've had many Catholic friends and a Catholic boss whom I believe protected me from a few questionable situations in a workplace. I also had a good friend in college who was a Jehovah's Witness and attended a Kingdom Hall meeting with her because I wanted to find out more about what she believed, and why.

I had nothing but love and respect for these people, and my prayer for them is always that God will bless them and reveal His personal relationship (and salvation) to them as well.

And now, I would like to offer my apologies to Susanna for the derail--I'm very sorry for going off track--but I just wanted to emphasize that I was just trying to make a joke, and I'm sorry if it offended anyone who may happen to identify with Catholicism.

Quite a few of us have come out of her. The RCC, not Susanna ;)

I loved Texas. May end up living there again one day. Only God knows for sure, but I have awesome friends there and miss them dearly. I have a few I have yet to meet face to face.
