Okay I admit i didn't get through all of Leviticus last night and this morning. However, I did come away with three thought:

1. Thank God for Jesus and the fact we don't have to sacrifice animals for sin and burnt offerings.

2. There is a lot about washing and bathing and the importance of water for purification. Which reminds me of John the Baptist and Jesus talking about giving living water and having water flowing from our hearts...maybe a different thread.

1. Why a burnt offering and a sin offering? What is the difference? I know Jesus is our sin offering, what is our burnt offering? Our life works?

I got half way through page 12 and remembered what I was thinking to write before bed last night.

For anyone to understand my points about how we can keep the Sabbath EVERY DAY! You have to understand and agree with some basic premises. If you don't agree, then we can either discuss it or you can go about your business because you won't get anything else anyway.

1. Sabbath refers to MORE than the seventh day of the week in the Bible.

For example God uses the word to describe the Year of Jubilee when the fields get a "Sabbath".

Therefore the Sabbath is more about Resting in God than a day of the week.

2. We are priests of God in the New Covenant. Priests work and profane the Sabbath and are held blameless.

3. Our bodies His Holy temples/tabernacle because we house the Holy spirit. Therefore we don't need to go to a building to worship God but need only two or more gathered in prayer and thanksgiving and God promises to be with us.

4. Keeping the Sabbath or any day Holy is to turn from doing our own thing and seeking to do God's will. We should do God's will every day,

5. Keeping the Sabbath, is about not speaking our own words but speaking God's in love. Why can't we do that every day?

6. When we work we are to work as if for God, therefore even when we do seemingly mundane task if we dedicate our labors to God Then we keep the Spirit of the Sabbath EVERY day.

Some people think their job isn't that important and if they aren't preaching in front of the church they aren't doing God's work. Its not true you can be a waiter or a janitor and still do God's work. Janitors keep people from getting sick and often help teachers move things and make their job of teaching kids easier.

I believe every person who has the Holy spirit within them has an important task God has called us to do.

We may not always see how our current actions aid God's kingdom, but sometimes God leads us to do things so we can grow and be ready when He does call us for our missio,. We should pray and listen and find Rest in Jesus every day.

Going to go back and finish reading the thread now.

Where is it given to MAN to esteem one day above another over GOD ??? it really is an 'effrontery to do so and negate what GOD has decreed.
People are MISunderstanding Paul when he says that some people do this....WE are to follow Paul as he followed Christ !!!
You still missing the point.

Some people chose to eat meat, others don't.

Some people chose to keep a weekly sabbath, others chose to worship God every day like they do on the Sabbath.

God says both choices are okay and not to judge the other person.

If you condemn people who don't keep a weekly sabbath on Saturday, then you are NOT FOLLOWING THE BIBLE but judging people based upon man-made traditions and understanding.

The same type of understanding of scripture that condemned Jesus for healing on the Sabbath or telling a man to pick up his mat and walk.

.you can find scriptures where people were stoned for carrying anything on the Sabbath,

If you keep EVERY day Holy and set aside for God, then you will keep the seventh day holy also.

I don't understand why people have such a big issue with me saying you should keep every day Holy.

.you should seek to speak God's words and not your own.
.you should seek to do God's will and not you own every day.

You should seek to fellowship with your brothers and sistera, pray, worship and give thanks to God every day.

Sabbath isn't about meeting in a building. Its not about rituals,

It's about resting in God and doing the works He has called us to do.

Shats wro,g with trying to do that every day of our lives on earth?

Isn't that what God calls us to do?

Yes start with one day, but I hope the Holy spirit leads everyone every day of their lives.

You hit the nail on the head! :)

I agree with you... there is 'much good we can do on the Sabbath today which was not allowed in the OT which was totally legalistic.
However this freedom in Christ does not allow for 'impurities or iniquity in man/woman....since He is in the process of ''purifying a peculiar people for Himself Tit 2v14.

OBEDience to God is as important today as ever it was for us to receive HIS Holy Spirit by and through whom we can communicate and understand each oither !!! Acts 5v32; Heb 5v9.

Any DISagreement with God is not going to work in our favour no matter how attractive it appears to us....and keeping Sabbath every day is one of them. It's not that it would be wrong but that WE/man is not yet conditioned to DO it in this fallen world and is therefore a pointless suggestion as we would fail miserably....even just ONE day seems impossible ! look at how people refute and reject it, mix and merge it with other UNholy worship ie sunday or other days. They are not considering what is important to GOD but only to themselves !!!

Allow God to 'purify you...that would be the answer to your prayer !!!
Nothing is impossible with God.

People tell me praying without ceasing is impossible but it's not.

I am not saying that I am perfect and worship God every single moment as I should.

What I am saying is that it's God's calling for us to do so.

Why do you condemn people for worshipping on Sunday?

Is it because the Bible condemns it or because you have listened to the teachings of men?

Read the Bible yourself and you will see that Jesus diciples gathered and worshiped on Sunday and Saturday. In fact you will see they worshipped whenever they could.

Did Jesus only preach on Sat?

What are we as Jesus diaciples called to do?

Biblically does Sabbath refer only to the seventh day of the week?

You will find it does not. It refers very often to that time but means God's rest. Sabbath points us to trusting God for our food, trusting God to provide even if we don't labor.

However like Jesus God still calls us to work even on the Sabbath, even while our souls find Rest our temple may be at work.

Yes it seems OT teaching would consist of 'MOSES' law and is not really appliccable to the letter in the NT which is SUPERCeded by Christ's teaching of the Spirit !
But why should a 'change of law mean a change of GOD's Holy Day ? Jesus never even hinted at such a thing. He is not known as 'lord of sunday but is today as He was yesterday and for ever...LORD of Sabbath, which is 7th day (NOT meaning SDA).
Jesus is Lord of Every day.

Those are God's law given through Moses.
.Moses didn't make them up.

Take some time to read through Leviticus yourself.

If you read the Old testament, you will realize how radical Jesus truly was. The Pharisees had the law down pat, the things they accused him of doing did go against the written law.

However If you read the Old testament you will see many of God's prophets being told to break the written law.

God did it to shock his people and hopefully reveal how sinful they truly were. For example it goes against the law and common sense to marry a know prostitute, yet God ordered Hoses to do just that.

As I said before the Sabbth is not just the 7h day of the week.

IT IS ANY DAY FOD SETS ASIDE FOE REST...,sometimes it's a whole year...like the year of Jubilee.

You have a contrast between the written law on tablets of stone (ten commandments)

And the law of the Spirit written upon our hearts.

Some people say they are the same, but it's a lie.

Do you know the difference?

One is just words..,, the other is the Holy spirit living in our hearts and guiding us through this life.

We can't approach every situation the same. We have to stop and pray and ask God what to do.

For example you see a homeless person on the street. Do you stop and talk to them? Give them money? Or continue about your business?

What if your business is to hurry to school to pick up a sick kid?

We have every day choices that God can help us make. He teaches us right from wrong.

Everything is not as clear cut as tablets of stone.

The Law written on our hearts is love, agape love.

I wonder how many people actually know what that means?

How many people understand the depth of God's love for us?

Then I ask again, why can't we keep the Sabbath EVERY day? Why can't we turn from our ways and do God's will every day?

Why do people condem others for worshipping God any day of the week?

Grace does not give us license to sin, but not observing the sabbath day is not sin. It was sin under the old covenant because it was a law of that covenant. Moses' law is not the law of the new covenant. We can't be charged with breaking a law that doesn't exist.

I have never said or believed that "grace makes us free to sin"

Some of these posts make no sense at all.

The Sabbath Day is more than just 'a REST....GOD's people were commanded to ASSEMBLE BEFORE HIM on the Sabbath Lev 23...to receive INSTRUCTION from HIM personally !!!

The thing is that MAN(kind) is to GROW in the Grace and Knowledge of GOD....NOT just rest like Babes and Infants all their lives ! People are missing that point when they fail to MATURE from milk to Meat ! This happens when they move away from the Sabbath and God's instruction because NO OTHER DAY will advance their knowledge.
You see it's not a DAY that advances knowledge but the presence of the HOLY SPIRIT.

In the past people had to go to the Temple to be in God's presence....TODAY our bodies are HIS TEMPLE and we have the Holy spirit to teach and guide us.

Put a better way - we can't be charged with breaking a law that doesn't have authority over us. Gentiles have been and never will be under the authority of the law of Moses. Even if they were, those in Christ are dead to the law of Moses. Law exerts no authority over dead people. Go try to charge someone lying in a grave with a crime and see how successful you are.

I am not advocating everyone to do as I do but I wanted to answer How God has lead me to keep every day Holy into him.

Or HOW he has helped me.

For years I was okay with attending church whenever I had time. Then God laid it on my heart to attend every week, then even more than that.

Recently God has moved me to set aside time every day for Him and His work.

In that manner find Rest with Him every day.

It's been a blessing for me and I get to see God working in the world around me. i have more peace and not through listening to Him each day.

Like I said, not being legalistic about it but God tells me I should share.

.even though I am some what reluctant because this forum can be quite cruel at times.

So in Jan the pastor was preaching about Time and Talent forms and pleadging not only money but time, talent and prayers to help the body grow.

It had me thinking about tithes and how it's been 10%.

There is 24 hours in a day, we should spend 10% of that in service to God. Two and half hours a day.

It was a challenge for myself to dedicate two and half hours to God in the beginning but not so much anymore.

God has shown me how to give more and more each day in service to him instead of to myself and my desires.
.it's why I started this thread.

Twofold.

First to silence those condemning others for worshipping God on any day.

Second to encourage everyone to worship God every day.

I made a list of five spiritual practices I would do for at least 30 minutes each day. I will list them in my next post

I found I spend more than 30 minutes on some but try to spend at least 30 minutes in each one because they have helped me grow spiritually in different ways.

The five spiritual disciplines:
1. Worship
2. Prayer
3. Bible reading
4. Study
5. Outreach and service.

I can expand upon each one and each day is different.

1. Worship

My personal favorite. My worship of God takes many forms: music, dance, taking a walk in nature, just sitting outside and watching the birds or the sunset.

The idea is just to rejoice and rest and be refreshed. This is when I receive the energy to continue walking this earth. Its when I am reminded of God's love by the bueaty of His creation. Its when I listen and see how wonderfully made we all are and feel how much God loves us.

It's when I focus not on doing, but just being in God's presence.

I could spend all day in worship of God, but God calls me for more.
.If worship was manna, I would gather too much, yet God gives me just enough to make it through the day.

2. Prayer

It's when I speak with God about life, my worries, my fears,my joys. What I am thankful for. Its when I listen and seek His answers.

I do it all throughout my day but try and spend 30 minutes with just God and myself alone in prayer.

It's a private thing that I don't talk to many people about, but I include folks in this site in my quiet prayer time with God. Along with all my loved ones and others I have meet.

It's amazing to see how God answers our prayers.

3. Bible reading

This is pure bible.

I read through the Bible from Genesis to revelation at least once a year and listen/ read the Bible for at least 30 minutes each day.

It's kind of integrated as part of my life.

I did the math, I have read the Bible over 20 times now. Yet every time God shows me more and more. I don't understand it all but I understand enough to carry out what God has asked me to do at this time in my life.

4. Study

I have a library of Christian books I am reading and spend more then 30 minutes most days but try and spend at least 30 minutes. If i am short on time I may push this one off for another day and read for two and a half hours straight for the whole week.

There is always reading material for Sunday school class or disciple one class or the Stephen ministry.

However when I have time I like to read daily devotionals like the Upper room, Jesus calling or the Daily bread.
