God can and does work on the believer over the course of his/her life. He can and does change the hearts and minds of His people.

I understand you claim husband of loverofJesus82 is an unbeliever based on his action of leaving the marital home. However, do you personally know the husband of loverofJesus82 well enough to claim without a shadow of a doubt that he is an unbeliever?

loverofJesus82, who lived with her husband, claims he is a believer. loverofJesus82 also acknowledges her part in driving him from the home.

I believe loverofJesus82 when she says he is a believer.

I believe God can work in the hearts of both husband and wife to bring healing to the relationship. However, as I have stated, it will take work on the part of bothhusband and wife to make this relationship work.

The marital relationship is such a blessing and both husband and wife have to work to keep the relationship strong and vibrant. My husband and I started dating when I was 17 and he was 18. We married 3 years after we started dating. We were married for 38 years before he passed away in 2014. I know what I am talking about when it comes to having a strong, vibrant relationship. However, both husband and wife must turn their hearts to the Lord, keep Him as the focus of their being. Then all the other relationships in this life will fall into place.

I don't need to know the man personally to know he is an unbeliever reneweddaybyday ... His actions speak for themselves ... I don't say loverofjesus is any liar when she says her husband is a believer ... The evidence here indicates it was just another lie of his and she has been deceived ... Just another lie to add to his long collection of lies ... A believer does not abandon his ultimate responsibility to his children and walk out on them ... A believer does not cheat on and alienate his wife ... A believer does not create his own mess and then run for the hills like a coward ... How much more evidence do you need to see in order to know that the man is no believer ? ...

When one has true faith in God, He will not only change your mind, but He will also change your heart and your soul ... It is a transformation that makes your entire being much more aware of what is true and what is false ...

No quite frankly he was expressing how your "advice" of "shopping" for a father for the Op's children was rather "ridiculous" idiot isn't a "curse word" and a word is needed for "ridiculous" advice givers seriously you would have been better off leaving your advice at "they need both a mom and a dad" concerning the children instead of suggesting "shopping" for a dad and Tommy wasn't the only one "expressing" that your advice was "poor" the member "Hungry" gave a "thorough" explanation of why your advice wasn't good.

Yes it is a very bad habit that can lead to "marriage issues" I ought to know my adopted father "talked" to other women in "private" on the internet behind my adopted mother's back and it lead to "division" in not only household but marriage and even "relocation" of me and my two adopted siblings.

I read the context as that in which, when God does change minds, it is when each individual personally submits themselves to be renew by Him. For example, I don't see him changing my husband because I want Him to, but if He does change my husband, it is because I've asked to be changed in a way in which I am more effective in reaching him. And this is what I believe Tommy379 had been speaking in terms of in the referenced post.

He may not but I do,"The entire book of Jonah" is a testament of how God doesn't simply "change people's minds" he tries to "teach us" what is right to do and even "endures" some degree of "disobedience" seriously if you read the whole book of Jonah God could have easily "killed" Jonah but he instead "impeded" his attempts at "rebellion" hoping to have Jonah "realize" that what God was ordering him to do concerning Nineveh was "good" to do and in the end Jonah "didn't have his mind changed" toward Nineveh he only "told God he'd do what he ordered and did so".

Actually that's the "problem" the "debating" we are to be "fellowshipping" and "discussing" not "debating" and while I agree with Tommy's side of things I direct this at "everyone here" not any one person because as I understand it this is against the "rules here" heated discussions is one thing but as I've been told "debating" is "discouraged" here.

I do not know whether husband is a believer or an unbeliever.

I do know that the wife of husband claims he is a believer ... and your opinion of that statement is that husband lied to loverofJesus82 (again, a statement made without personal knowledge on your part).

Unless you know husband personally and know that he is, in fact, an unbeliever you are in no position to state that he is an unbeliever.

You can state that husband is behaving like an unbeliever and I would have no issue with your statement.

I have a right to my opinion ... You are not the only one that has an opinion my friend ... If you don't like an opinion it does give you or anyone else the right to slander another ... Apparently you've not read what God has to say about slander even though I posted His words right here on this thread ... You and others can slander another all that you want, but it will never make you right by JESUS to do so ...

Obviously discussing the Bible with varying opinions is debating ... There are no two ways around that ... If there is no debating then there is no discussing ...

The mere talking to a married woman in private is not forbidden anywhere in the Bible ... It is the context and words themselves that determine whether it is right or wrong ... Are we now to go by your rules and discard the rules within the Bible ? ... I think not, I believe I will stick to His rules ... Nothing whatsoever wrong with speaking to a married woman in private when the conversation is kept Godly ...

I was talking about that it can be at the least "questionable" even if found to be "harmless" because remember it is written "women submit to your husbands,men submit to your wives" as well as once married being "as one" all meaning that anything said to either person married ought to be "known" to each other promoting "honesty and humbleness" and discouraging "secrets withheld".

Unless you know husband of loverofJesus82 personally and know for a fact that he is an unbeliever, your statement that he is an unbeliever is your opinion based on a claim of which you have heard only one side.

Without input from husband, you have no clue whether he is a believer or an unbeliever.

Heads up --- believers are known to behave like unbelievers at times.
