In my opinion most of the posters on this thread are conservative and not liberal. You do take a rather liberal slant in your interpretation of certain passages of scripture though.
Your mind is operating in reverse my friend. Liberal is twisting the scripture to meet your own agenda. Conservative is believing it exactly as it is written. I believe it exactly as written, which is conservative. What is liberal is trying to excuse believing it in some different way, or not believing it at all, just as you and your friends have done. You may "think" your friends are conservative and they may think so too, but when it comes to this topic they have proven to be liberal thinkers.

It is also extremely evident that no one here is required to use any of their common sense either, as that is all it takes in order to figure out those scriptures. No interpretation required. Crystal clear.

1 Corinthians 14:34 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but [they are commanded] to be under obedience, as also saith the law.

1 Corinthians 14:35 And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.
Crystal clear that there's too much doubt about who wrote those verses to justify being dogmatic about them.

There might possibly be an element of truth in what you have said. I will have to give this some considerable thought.

Nobody is obligated to accept your definitions of "liberal" and "conservative" either.

The element which one hopes to conserve would determine the 'truth' of the conservative, here, whether it be the letter or it the spirit.

Loyal disciple, with respect, I agree with the scriptures. I don't agree that you are in any way neutral in how you choose to present them. If you're not a misogynist, you certainly seem to act like one. I suggest you read 1 Corinthians 13 to understand what gives all knowledge it's significance. Paul's letters to the churches were full of instruction on how we should treat younger brethren. I have yet to see any of his instruction in the way you continue to conduct yourself here. You may not agree with me, but if everyone is calling you a dog, maybe it's not because of your bark, but maybe your bite.

Obviously, you have missed several of my posts. I am not any misogynist, and not even close. I simply prefer to believe the Bible "exactly" as it is written. I do not let modern day teaching warp my mind. I tell you exactly why they call me a dog. It is because they hate the truth that I deliver. I don't rest on any worldly opinions, I have given the precise word of God in the scripture. That's what they don't like. It is the "bite" of the truth they don't like.

With respect sir, I even agree with you on the scriptures. I beseech you to consider the other things in scripture I pointed out to you. The reason I used the dog analogy was because it's simple for all to understand: Bark being the thing you said; bite being the way you presented it. If you can't at least consider that it's not the scripture that's offensive, but rather your presentation-then I will leave you to your self. The Word of God can, and does, offend: This should not be taken as permission to be rude or offensive in presenting it.

Go way back in these pages and you will see that I simply presented the truth of the scriptures. It was after that fact, that I was attacked for doing so and I defended myself and the word of God. I didn't present the scriptures on a bed of roses nor did I present them in a heap of fire. I simply presented them as truth. It was then that people became angry and upset. The scripture WAS OFFENSIVE to many here and that is exactly why they began their attacks upon the messenger. The truth itself was offensive to them because they do not wish to go by it.

First you say "the word of God can and does offend", then you say I presented it offensively. You contradict yourself here. If the word itself is "offensive", as you say, then how is one to present it and not be offensive ? I don't agree with your assessment that the word is offensive at all, nor do I agree that I presented it offensively. What I suggest is that the word of God is never offensive and anyone being offended by it is merely searching for a way not to obey it. Now, you are free to sit there and defend the attackers all that you wish. However, that does not alter the facts here one bit. All one can do is to present scripture. They cannot make anyone like it, follow it or prevent them from becoming upset over it.

I didn't say it always offends, only that it can and does.

I'm not defending your attackers, sir, merely hoping you'll consider yourself. If you absolutely refuse, then I will allow you to do so with no further comments to you, sir.

This thread has gone so far off the rails that it probably should be shut down.

Perhaps you're right. I've said what I wanted to communicate twice, and I'm good.

Look Didymous, I completely understand what you're saying. However, I didn't present the scriptures any other way than they are written. I didn't scold anybody with the scriptures, I simply placed them on the page. It was after that point that the very long attacks ensued. People claiming the scriptures were merely my opinion, people making jokes involving my name, people slinging around all sorts of insults trying to get me mad and much worse making jokes about the Bible itself. I am perfectly fine if they shut this thread down also. But, as long as I am alive, I am not going to be attacked without defending myself and I most certainly am not going to watch the Bible being attacked without defending it.

The loyal disciple has shown repeated indifference to scriptures posted. Lloyd you have an unhealthy obsession with 2 verses and simply brush off others which have been posted. You are very selective in the posts you respond to. Anything you cannot answer you simply ignore then claim you are a victim if you are not permitted to focus exclusively on your own obsession. You claim to be interested in pure scripture. Why then do you disregard so much of it?

BTW demanding eternal victim status is a VERY LIBERAL ploy. ;)

So, no singing praises, no talking to other women, no telling the kids to "shush".... Just ZIP IT LADY!

Yep.... crystal clear.

astounding obstinance over a misunderstood passage.

I don't see how you can manage to type on your keyboard, because I'm certain you have no right hand. I'm sure that at some point in your life, your right hand has caused you to sin. And I'm also sure that you immediately cut it off...... right? I mean, the scripture is crystal clear about that....
