onceiving is impregnating, and to bore is giving birth, and God breathing into the lifeless spiritless flesh is to be begotten of God. It had nothing to do with the first birth . Its the second birth that restores the soul. The Son of man begotten of the father came thousands of years later. Its not the first Adam or generation but the second the generation of Christ.Abel is typified as the second. Just as was Jacob . Esau saw no value in being born again like Cain they exchanged it for the things of this world.. pride.
To bear a pregnancy is to carry a pregnancy - yes, one will give birth at the end..

Ok wordsmith.
Then why wasn't the word begat used?

Interestingly, it also says Cain knew his wife who birthed Enoch.
But all other cases use the word begat.

"begat" did you read the passages I posted.Begat is all over it. I have always heard you can take a horse to water but cannot him drink. HUMMmmmmmm

Genesis 5:3-4....bunch of "Begats"

Be very careful, you speaking about GOD! and not in a good way!

You have not a clue in the way I speak, and I only acknowledged what I heard from the substance of your testimony.

17 It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true.18 I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me.
19 Then said they unto him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor my Father: if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also.
John 8:17-19

And neither does anybody else!

What is the point of "communicating" in a way, so cryptic as to not be understandable?

Interestingly the gospel was preached and mankind Adam andEve anticipated the coming of the Son of man to restore what was lost. Cain a word giving usthe idea "acquired possession" was there hope. Abel that means vanity shows theymust wait by faith. God had mercy and grace (favor) on Abel but not on Cain.Cain was given the mark of a restless wanderer( 666) natural converted man (.NoSabbath rest) Adam and Eve were required to walk by faith. The idea that Cain was the Son of man to restore them showed their vanity and need to walk by faith and not by sight, the cause of the fall .
.

Never saw this before....I don't believe it to be accurate.....God's grace is found to Cain...in fact twice....don't see where the gospel was preached but I do see a representation of it. Mortal man cannot redeem any one. Adam and Eve did not walk by faith.....abraham is the father of faith.
Sorry brother not buying it.

One of the worst things you could do is spiritualize this story. Adam was the son of God. Jesus is the only begotten. Adam was formed...Jesus always was.

It is Jesus that made Adam and everything else as well. The spoken word of God. People look a the bible like a fairy tale book. thinking everything just happened in an instant. They don't think about Eve bearing much pain while giving birth, her recovery from child bearing each time. The nursing by breast feeding each child, preventing sickness, the feeding of soft food. the bathing, the teething, the poop change, teaching them how to walk, and talk. Where cold that have gone. it happens today, and it happened back then. She was most likely the first to die young.

Cain can be considered son of God insofar as he was created by the Eternal. However, it is only truly the son of the Eternal who believes in Jesus (John 1:12).

Thanks for the reply brother. I will offer my two cents

I would suggest two kinds of grace. (1)The common grace that affects all of God creatures, a indiscriminative healing, a bright sunny day, rain for the just as well as the unjust and a saving grace (2) that goes beyond what the eyes see.

The mere fact that he corrupted the whole world as in dying a person dies graciously giving 70 or so years is a graceful thing .

He could of simply destroyed the first creation and then began the new immediately rather than waiting till the end that is ahead.

The fact that he had respect, not by works " And the Lord had respect unto Abel and to his offering"This I believe shows he had favor or grace on Abel.

After the Lord prophesied to Cain.. “Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen?” saying if you bring the proper sacrifice which speaks of the lamb of God you also by faith will be accepted as born again.

Cain discussed the gospel with his brother Abel but refused to walk by faith thinking the kingdom of God was of this world and it came by observing his own works of bring fruit of the field(walking by sight) .Cain killed the outward miss-perceived what he thought was completion, as in out of sight out of mind. The blood of Abel indicating he was given grace it cries out even today

Genesis 4 King James Version (KJV) And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the Lord. And she again bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground. And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the Lord. And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the Lord had respect unto Abel and to his offering: But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell. And the Lord said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen? If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.

In a attempt to kill the message of grace he killed his brother a messenger. He became the symbol of a marked unconverted man (666) as a restless wanderer. No Sabbath rest for those who know not Christ.

There are rumors that this is the case.

And if you interpret Genesis 4:1 of the KJV literally, it confirms the rumors.

"And Adam knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD"

It does not say Adam begat Cain and it says I (Eve) have gotten a man from the LORD.

Pretty simply put isn't it?

I wonder what the folks on these boards might have to say...
What I think is you found a way to talk to Christians about something that interests you like making doilies interest other people. You can talk with Christians without actually dealing with God himself. He's kind of like a lab animal -- something you can poke and prod, and get others to poke and prod with you, except for one major detail. He's not a lab rat. He's GOD! Creator of the Universe. Father of his people. Brother to the saved. Inspiration to his people.

When you want to really talk about him, rather than present some nonsensical thing that doesn't really matter to you anyway past maybe a lively discussion, then thought becomes relevant.

I'm pretty sure you knew what I meant.

Sorry if I messed up on any of the technical jargon.

I'll say Genesis 1 comes across to me as like building a city and Genesis 2 comes across like building a house within that city.

OK, then a house in a city is certainly in the context of the city, right? Like the house certainly wouldn't be in a different state or country than the city it's within.
So also ((which was your point in calling them different contexts?)) the God of 'chapter 1' is the same God in 'chapter 2'

Sure explains why the Jews acted the way they did in John 10:30-31
30 I and my Father are one.
31 Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him.

Read the rest of the verse; to the Jews ((why not to some of us?)) it was obvious He was identifying Himself as God Himself in the form of a man.

Gabriel, it is impossible to get your interpretations from this:
"4 Now Adam knew Eve his wife, and she conceived and bore Cain, and said, “I have acquired a man from the Lord.” 2 Then she bore again, this time his brother Abel." Gen 4:1-2

"Now Adam knew Eve his wife" - Adam had sex with his wife...
"and she conceived and bore Cain" - and she became pregnant and bore - gave birth to Cain...
"and said, “I have acquired a man from the Lord.”" - and then made a statement giving praise to God for the fact...
"Then she bore again" - a different event, a different pregnancy...
"this time his brother Abel." - and called him Abel.

If Cain and Abel really were twins it makes no sense to record a single event in the way documented - to bear a pregnancy is just that and two events are recorded...

All of this happened AFTER Adam and his wife were banished from Eden...

Please provide a reference to a different interpretation that 1) insists that Cain and Abel are twins; and 2) that what is recorded in Genesis 4 somehow took place before the events recorded in Genesis chapter 3...

Have toy tried google yet? This isn't an uncommon view that Gabriel is telling us. In other records of birth, each time it's stated 'and so and so knew his wife and she begat... '
There's no second 'and Adam knew his wife' before Abel's birth, so that is taken as evidence they are twins. There are also many striking parallels in their story to other Biblical twins.

Just so you know it's not totally out of left field... I'll let Gabriel defend it more if he likes.

Here is what I have to say in response to your conjecture:

Genesis 4:1 And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD.

Adam "knew" Eve and she conceived (became pregnant).

When Cain was born, Eve said "I have gotten a man from the Lord". The word "from" is the Hebrew word ’eṯ- and it means "with the help of". Eve bore a child with the help of the Lord.

And look at Genesis 4:25 And Adam knew his wife again; and she bare a son, and called his name Seth: For God, said she, hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew.

Same words as in vs 1 Adam "knew" his wife. A child is conceived.

In the record of the Generations of Adam (Gen 5:1 – Gen 6:8), we read that Seth was the son of Adam: Genesis 5:3 And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, after his image; and called his name Seth.

We also read in 1 John 3:12 that Cain was of that wicked one.
