So which is it? This is the reason I started the thread do I remain saved no matter what? Or am I forfeit if I screw up?
Even those who believe you can lose your salvation do not believe you lose it by "screwing up".

They say it's only possible if you turn from God and forsake Him. Kind of like the "ex Christian" on the forum claim to do.

Fear he is a liar.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=1srs1YoTVzs

Don't be afraid. God loves you and is willing to forgive and teach you how to fix any mistakes and overcome your sins.

like I said the way my mind works is I think 4% sounds like good odds one minute but the next ..not So much
When "not so much" happens think about 96% chance of success instead.

I can't give you scriptures supporting OSAS because the bible says you can lose your salvation- to have it and then have it no longer. ("But if you sin willfully there no longer remains a sacrifice for your sins.") If à christian décidés to start living for pleasure by going back to living in sin, then Christ's blood no longer covers them. They can however come back to living for God, like a prodigal son. But the one who leaves God to worship a false god can never return, ever.
Show me where the Bible specifically says, "lose your salvation." In regards to scripture supporting OSAS: How long are His saints preserved? - Psalm 37:28; of all that the Father has given Jesus, how many will He lose? - John 6:39; who can snatch His sheep out of His hand? - John 10:27-29; how long are believers sealed with the Holy Spirit? - Ephesians 1:13-14; 4:30; and whom He justified, how many will be glorified? - Romans 8:30.

I see that you are still stumbling over Hebrews 10:26. Now in regards to Hebrews 10:26, To "sin willfully" in the Greek carries the idea of deliberate intention that is habitual, which stems from rejecting Christ deliberately. This is CONTINUOUS ACTION - A MATTER OF PRACTICE. Now we don't walk along our daily life and "accidentally" fall into a pit called sin. We exercise our will but, the use of the participle clearly shows a CONTINUOUS ACTION. The unrighteous practice sin - (1 Corinthians 6:9-10; Galatians 5:19-21); not the righteous, who are born of God - (1 Corinthians 6:11; 1 John 3:9).

Hebrews 10:26 (AMP) - For if we go on willfully and deliberately sinning after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice [to atone] for our sins [that is, no further offering to anticipate].

In verse 39, the writer sets up the contrast that makes it clear to me that he was referring to unbelievers, not saved people: But we are not of those who draw back to perdition, but of those who believe to the saving of the soul. Those who draw back to perdition do not believe to the saving of the soul and those who believe to the saving of the soul do not draw back to perdition.

Those who are truly born of God do not leave God to worship a false god.

When I was reading through the old testament I saw time and again how God brought wrath upon the enemies of His people. But I also saw how He brought wrath upon His own people when they stopped obeying Him. And in Revelation He speaks of the eternal wrath of the prostitute, and He warns "Come out from her My people or you too will share in the wrath coming to her." It is possible to lose your salvation.
Christ came in the fullness of time and by the fullness of His grace he paid the full eternal wage .Again not in part but the whole

In the Old testament it was the call of repentance calling his born again children out from them that will face final wrath his enemies. Repentance isthe first work of God that works in us all the days of our new born again lives. Our confidence is Christ .

If he has begun the good work of salvation he will finish it till the end of time. When we do sin in unbelief by denying Him Becausehe has paid the full wage of our sin ((eternal damnation) He cannot deny he has not.

He is faithful not faithless . His three day labor of Love(work of faith) was enough to appease our Father. He did not earn a portion of Grace as a unknown amount and call that a living hope.

That the kind of non-grace you find in Catholicism . They are required to finish the work of a undermined amount of missing grace, for a undermined amount of time in a unknown place called purgatory.

It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with
him, we shall also live with him: If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us: If we believe not, yet heabideth faithful: he cannot deny himself. 2 Tim2

The seed by which we have ben born anew is incorruptible. Why marvel wavering between two opinions as if it was not?

1 Peter 1:23
Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
The seed that was planted started to grow in type #2 soil in the Parable of the Sower but could not be sustained there, so we know that the seed being incorruptible does not mean it will always remain in and grow in a person's heart. It depends on the soil.

That's why it is important that we continue to believe.

Believers don't leave God. Ex-believers do.

Saving belief in Christ continues and is not some shallow, temporary belief that has no root, produces no fruit and withers away. Those who leave God never to return, demonstrate that their belief was never firmly rooted and established from the start.

Mine will take 10 to twelve hours it's not simple surgery.
I am officially praying/worrying for you all day. At least this time I'm up on how long to worry. And you? You, thankfully, will be sleeping the entire time I'm worrying.

And when you come back to read this, you'll be snickering at me a little bit for worrying when the Lord had you covered the whole time. Enjoy the snicker. It's worth it.

I joined this site in 2015. (First time.) I left it six months later, in small part because all that most people did was argue over OSAS. Argue, argue, argue, because why not? It's not like it was really significant to anyone. It was just a fun thing to argue about.

But this is Monn's "I'm afraid" thread. It was significant to him when he asked. How about not turning it into "another fun place to argue about something that's not so important to me" thread?

I have read verses in the bible that's giving me mixed feelings (which is why I don't read the bible often) But I want to read the bible but my brain is so full of double I'm scared can someone give me bible verses and explain them in context supporting once saved always saved?
Look at it like this,
If you lived in the garden of eden and you ate from the forbidden tree you rejected God and in return God rejected you. You became seperated from God and spiritually you died.
If you lived in the time of the mosaic law then you were under The Mosaic law and if u broke that law you rejected God and in return God rejected you.
If you are a christian you live under the law of Christ and if you break that law you reject God and in return God rejects you.
So dont be like Eve and listen to the serpent when he says "you surely wont die"

Monnakai, I am praying for you. Remember, you did not save yourself, God saved you! He loves you, and has promised he will never leave or forsake you.

When you recover from your surgery, my suggestion is to memorize some verses that God gives you, that help you understand God, and that help you learn to trust in God instead of your own works.

I went through a stage where I realized I was trusting myself to “stay saved” rather than truly trusting God for my security in salvation. This was the verse God gave me. I meditated in it daily, till I stopped leaning on myself.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not to your own understanding,
In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths!” Proverbs 3:5-6

Always ask for prayer, but perhaps read the Bible, asking God to show you some verses that will show you his faithfulness, rather than worrying about yours!

PS I get about those nagging voices. Learn to banish them, and ask God to replace them with God's Word. It is possible to do it, I am living proof of the Holy Spirit’s transforming power!

this is by far some of the most ridiculous doctrine of men ive ever heard

Galatians 5:18

“But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.”
------
Philippians 3:9
9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:
-------
Galatians 2:16
16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

Isaiah 53:11 - He shall see of the travail of his soul, [and] shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.
Romans 3:22 - Even the righteousness of God [which is] by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:

Romans 1:17 - For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

Romans 4:5 - But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

30 What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith.

31 But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness.

32 Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone;

33 As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

romans 10

10 Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.

2 For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.

3 For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.

4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.

5 For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them.

6 But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:)

7 Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.)

8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;

9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.

13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Believers don't leave God. Ex-believers do.

Your wrong

people who have faih in God do not leave God. Because God never gives them a reason to lose fath.

people who do not have fath, never knew God, although they can play church for awhile, they will eventually leave and deny, because their faith never took root (it was dead)

This person wants to put us all under law.

We are saved not by works of righteousness which we have done. We can never be food enough, no matter what law we try to obey.

Jesus said:
The seed is the word of God. 12 Those along the path are the ones who hear, and then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved. 13 Those on the rocky ground are the ones who receive the word with joy when they hear it, but they have no root. They believe for a while, but in the time of testing they fall away. 14 The seed that fell among thorns stands for those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by life’s worries, riches and pleasures, and they do not mature. 15 But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop.

nope

thats a strawman i never said God doesnt punish the children of perdition with hell
or chasten HIS children (born again belivers)

but if youre suggesting a born again child of God already rooted in Christ can lose salvation

you havent yet learned what grace means
the spirit of adoption
being born again

being made new

having His righteousness and not my own

sealed and kept by the power of God

and it goes on and on

again

romans 9-10 is about those who believe their works according to the law is what maintains or earns salvation

and those who say Lord lord then boast of their works

those He NEVER knew (not once saved and lost it)

we are not OF THEM who fall back into perdition but BELIEVE unto the saving of the soul

those who go out from among us WERE NOT OF US or no doubt would have continued with us....

hebrews 10

35 Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.

36 For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.

37 For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry.

38 Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.

39 But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.

john 6

28 Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?

29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.

39 And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.

40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

1 John 2:19
19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.
