LPT - I'm not sure why it did that. I just copied link and pasted it. so there is no ill intent on my part - nobody is being scammed, its a real youtube channel dedicated to defending the text of the new testament - my site isn't monetized - I took on one of the most popular critics of the new testament and you guys are up in roar about a link.

I think what might have happened is when I copied the writeup from a facebook post that I sent to sam harris on his facebook page just earlier, that's what may have included the extension.

Just as it's really not good form to make derogatory comments in a scholarly debate,
it's also not terribly good form to make derogatory comments toward those you've asked to watch the debate.

Maxwed, I don't believe I made any derogatory comments towards anyone - there isn't any attacks on anyone. I wasn't aware there was a problem with the link - for that I apologize

Did you ask Bart Ehrrman for legal permission to publish content from his personal blog?

That could very well be and goo explaintation and I apologize if I came across harsh but on today's internet is so much wickedness and evil happening in the Internet and gets worse every year, we don't even know where it comes from their are getting so high tech with all the hacking and piggyback riding etc. one has to be on guard all the time.

again I apologize for being harsh I'm just concerned I don't want to be hacked nor anyone else.

Dr Ehrman personally emailed me and asked me to move my challenge over to his public blog. He was aware of the animations I have already done on his theories. He had no complaints about anything. I have a paid membership on his blog.

Thank you for your kind words LPT. I really appreciate it, and understand your concern, because it is a real threat out there. I'll be better to ensure due diligence when ever I post links on this site again. God Bless you

It doesn't matter if the conversation is in a private or public blog, as long as Bart Ehrman owns the website in which the conversation appears. As long as he owns the website in which the content appears, he can dictate the precise terms of use for that content.

So, in a nutshell...
you didn't actually get permission to use content on his blogs to create derivative works, you're just assuming that since he hasn't sued you yet, it must be alright?

I would sincerely caution any Christians reading this to be much more cautious and circumspect.
Although I consider Bart Ehrman a blight on humanity, there are still legal ramifications, as well as a host of basic proprieties to consider when dealing with an opponent who is so well respected by such a hostile opposition.

your welcome my friend and surely it was a fine debate, you were responsive with tad bit of humble pie with your post and I respect that with all my heart.

God bless brother and I wish you well on all your endeavors. :)

MaxWel, I didn't realize that your the copyright police on here. Bart Ehrman is a public figure who has been popularizing his conspiracy theories against the New Testament Text. I openly challenged him on his public blog, and exposed his theories for what they really are. If he was naïve to think I wasn't going to put it animation, knowing full well that I have already taken his comments and used them in my videos that I posted on his blog making fun of his theories, I'm sure he is not too worried about the videos. My question Maxwel, is why are you so concerned? Plus I don't think you understand the fair use law and how parody works - are you a copyright lawyer? - because my cousin actually is - this wasn't his posting, but my actual conversation with Dr Ehrman...

IS this the video?

The video was quite fascinating indeed I enjoyed it and liked the animations good job. IMO the four are liken to the garment the soldiers tore into four pieces.

Thank you LPT - the animations took a while to produce, but I had so much fun with this project. Sam Harris recently had Dr Ehrman on his podcast the other day, which I was I sent the video to Sam Harris. I'm hoping Sam Harris is willing to sit down with me. I have also had similar debates with Muslim apologists like Paul Williams who also openly attacks the credibility of the bible. God Bless my friend. Thanks again for your comments.

The link goes right to the youtube video not my facebook page. the link is youtube.

*shrug* maybe you copied the video link from an embedded fb post, instead of from the actual youtube page -- and although the text of the url looks just like youtube, fb had their 'stuff' embedded in the address.
so it would be fb being sneaky, not you. though i suspect fb doesn't do stuff like that intentionally; it's just optimal for their database management not to use resources to strip their internal pointers from within their own site. if that makes sense. if you were on a mobile browser, and went through facebook to get the link so you could post it here, that's probably exactly what happened; the youtube app used the facebook launching point as its link, because it just called a variable that stored the address that launched youtube, and in most cases that would be a plain youtube link, but fb app has all it's own internal addressing built into links.

but nice video! you've done a lot of work, and it's really cool how you followed your inspiration with the effort :)

Thanks for the explanation - I think you identified the source of the issue. I'll definitely be more aware of this going forward. I also appreciate your comments on the video. It was allot of work putting this together, from the back and forth conversation with Dr Ehrman to then putting everything to production and animating it. God Bless
