Are you aware that in Galations 6:2 it does actually mention that there is a 'law of Christ'? Do we know what that law is?

You asked me that question on another thread to which I gave my answer.
If memory serves me you answered with another question.

Would you mind telling us what the law is Christ is to you?

If I missed that on the other thread please accept my apologies.

did I say obedience is required to retain, maintain and entertain salvation?

no I did not

YET you respond as though I did

but if you love Him, you WILL obey Him

quite a quandary

if God sent Jesus, can you explain why we would not obey what He tells us to obey?

do you actually think God is looking for lip service?

now tell me that is not what you mean

your turn

and thank you for exemplifying what I said in living color

Tell me please, in detail, what all we are required to obey.

And what would happen if we didn't.

Disagreements are fine, we all have them

slander and false accusations is a sin.

Legalism is dangerous, far more dangerous than OSAS, it places the onus on men, and takes it away from God.

I am neither, so thankfully I may be safe.

Thanks for the thoughtful reply.

Post the exact scripture from Galatians where it plainly says a saved person can lose their salvation.

Or any Scripture for that matter that clearly says that.

Tell me please, in detail, what all we are required to obey.

And what would happen if we didn't.

May I add, how do we bey them? What he s our motivation or root cause?

you continue to falsely accuse me

i dont know if you think thats love

but i can assure you it is not

anyways you asked

and i replied

if you dont like my answer that i did indeed give to your question

and seem to wrongly assume i did so for others approval

maybe stop your false accusations against one of Gods children and actually talk

ok
ill try again

i wont add too much scripture which you keep trying to admonish me for posting

you > "can you express in YOUR words what you think the commandments of Jesus really mean and how we keep them?"

Matthew 22:36-40
36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?

37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

38 This is the first and great commandment.

39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

i believe this mean to put God first before all things
at all times in love

every moment of every day

and i believe to love our neighbor as ourself

is to want the best for them to the point of sacrifice

(which is why i posted the verses i posted that support this)

and how we "keep" them?

well we examine ourself and pray constantly to see if we are walking according to the spirit

and our performance in this i believe represents how fruitful we are as His children

really?

a disagreement only becomes a lack of love when one person HIDES behind what they say they believe

I did not admonish you for posting scripture. I asked you to answer which is not the same as posting a wall of text

posting a wall of text is what I can read for myself; asking someone for an answer is asking the person about their understanding or thoughts. that is not an admonishment and it would help if you stop flinging up remarks trying to indicate you are under some sort of attack simply because someone disagrees with the usual verbage used to defend OSAS ESPECIALLY since I never mentioned it at all

I doubt you can correct anyone on this forum regarding love when no one is perfect in love here. we striving for what follow...the Bible calls it contending for the faith. as you cannot seem to grasp what it is I am addressing, you are hardly in a place of correcting me

I object to the use of the word performance as we are not graded

I don't find fault with what you are saying, worded in your own understanding, but what I am trying to get across here, is that the love Jesus speaks of is the fulfillment of the 10 commandments

and how we "keep" them?

well we examine ourself and pray constantly to see if we are walking according to the spirit

and our performance in this i believe represents how fruitful we are as His children

this is not so. the ONLY way we can begin to address what Jesus says, is being filled with the Holy Spirit and in obedience to what is revealed through what Jesus says and what Paul and the other writers of the NT flesh out in correction and deeper understanding

we cannot love as Jesus commands anymore than we can keep the commandments for righteousness

that is what I am saying

that is why we have the Holy Spirit; that is why Jesus told His followers to WAIT...not get ahead

it's not a performance issue at all. we are not under judgement

thank you for answering

Who?????

you gnre much of pauls words and want to throw this strawman out?

dont argue with a point that can be used against you, it is fruitless

I'm sorry you feel that way EG.

I thought we just had a disagreement about what Paul says. Which you said was OK. I don't believe I have "ignored" Paul since I quote him all the time and study his words.

I think maybe your accusation that I ignore Paul is not accurate. I just have a different understanding of his words than you have.

Thanks again for your thoughtful reply.

I may have, but this time I was asking 'troubled65'. So let him answer, thank you.

You do not understand

you said people ignore paul or something like that

i said the same could be said of you

thus that line of reasoning is useless.

Your right we disagree in what we think paul said, that fact is we both think we agree with paul , so say8 g the other does not listen is not a real god argument is it?

maybe stop your false accusations against one of Gods children and actually talk

this is what I consider rubbish

why are you so defensive? I made no accusations. I simply asked a question and now you have answered it

one of God's children? so then if someone disagrees with you or words something differently, they are what? NOT saved?

choose your words with the thought in mind that disagreeing does not disqualify another from salvation even if you think so

I may have, but this time I was asking 'troubled65'. So let him answer, thank you.

Ok given that then I'm asking you.
You asked me, I responded but you did not clarify. In fact I'm sure I asked you "What do you think?

So What is the law of Christ?

Tell me please, in detail, what all we are required to obey.

Jesus

what do you suppose happens when people ignore Jesus commandments?

do you suppose we should address what Jesus says about love as suggestions?

I would suggest that if people ignore Jesus commandments, concerning love, then they are not saved

how can we say we love God, if we cannot love the ones we see with our own 2 eyes?

and in no way do I suppose that to be some sort of instant gift...even in God's economy, it took some few thousands of years until His words to Adam and Eve were proved to be true with the 'gift' of His Son to us

love is proved over many times in the course of our lives. above all, love is an act not a feeling

you know, Jesus did not 'feel' like going to the cross, but He was OBEDIENT even to His own death for our salvation

love fulfills the commands

now maybe you can tell us how that indicates anything of works or self righteousness?

frankly, I don't see how someone can derive that from Jesus' commands

We know that Christ fulfilled the law of Moses with his sacrifice.

Paul seems to be telling us that we can fulfill the law of Christ by taking care of each other (bearing one anothers burdens). So maybe that is a hint.

Which I said to you in my response.
To which you replied "Is that all? Or something like that.

My original response included the above along with the law of love which Jesus summed up in two commandments.
Love for God, our neighbours and also our enemies.

How do you bear one anothers burdens? By putting thier needs above yours (love your neighbor)

the law of love is the law of christ

So, your detailed answer is "love"?

Okay, got it.

thank you for answering

no problem
;)

a disagreement only becomes a lack of love when one person HIDES behind what they say they believe

eh?

i believe when you go outside of wanting whats best for someone then its not in love

(not hiding behind what i believe... trying to explain it to you ... then posted scriptures to prove it)

this is what I consider rubbish

sorry if i seemed defensive to you

but silly statements like

"so then if someone disagrees with you or words something differently, they are what? NOT saved?

choose your words with the thought in mind that disagreeing does not disqualify another from salvation even if you think so"

is what i consider rubbish

because i never once suggested that if you dont agree with me you arent saved

that comes off to me like youre suggesting i DID say that

and you have made a LARGE number of silly claims like this today

that border in between false accusations and strawmen

where i dont hold the position you SEEM to attempt to impute to me

so then you have nothing against being called out for the same reason?

well good then!

do the words of Paul supercede Jesus?

no?

then we had better jolly well keep the commandments of Jesus

yes? no?

what are they and how do we fulfill them?

good on yah that you will not let false teaching go...but first hang onto TRUE teaching...begin and end with Jesus

sorry It took me so long to answer , had some work to finish up :)

No they dont " supercede " , they are Jesus's words
Paul says to imitate him as he imitates Christ

My WHOLE world begins and ends with Jesus , he is my everything

Jesus's commands to us are to love God , and to love our neighbour

Love for God, our neighbours and also our enemies.

So do these NT laws fall into a legalistic nature or are they above legalistic and are required by Jesus for eternal life?

For instance, if we ignore our neighbors needs and do not take one anothers burdens upon us, are we not fulfilling the law of Christ and is our salvation in jeopardy?
