You are never too late to start anew. Colonel Sanders was in his 70's (?) when he started KFC, and Grandma Moses was in her eighties when she started painting and Georgia O'Keefe was active very late in life. (80's and 90's, I think.)

So, God willing, you could possibly have another 20 to 30 years of productivity. If you act like it is possible, it is more likely to happen.

BTW, what career are you considering, brain surgeon, extreme athlete, gardener, POTUS?
I want to get back into manufacturing in some capacity. I like to make stuff and think that it's a fascinating process from beginning to end and all points in between. Yes, all of this providing God is willing and I have the desire and determination.

Thank you Mel, and thank you for the recent rep, which you must have left anonymously  Thank you also for the lovely visitor message you left the other day :) I wrote the following for another thread, but never posted it, because the thread in question was causing too much confusion among others :(

Mel joins our community, a rare gem in a landmine of skirmishes. Not only does she stick around, she shows herself to be of excellent calibre: playful, Lord-loving, humorous, kind, communicative, and not holding back when it comes to shoring up her brothers and sisters in Christ with kindness, grace, and grit.

:)
I agree with the author of this post!!!

I confess, when I was 11, I’d hangout near the cafeteria to get free food from the kitchen lady.

8/10 times it worked.

I confess I have been a jerk all of my life and I am so ignorant, I didn't even realize it.

Now I realize I am a jerk. So that is a little wisdom gained at any rate.

I use to be an atheist who read the bible. I know therr are more out there.
Yeah, even the devil is an expert on scripture. Of course, he doesn't apply it properly but twists it, wrests it, omit words, add words, anything that he can do to distort the truth. I'm glad that you are no longer an atheist but now have blessed assured hope in your salvation through the death of Jesus dying on the cross for your sins.

Of all the posts I ever made this is the most recent.

Actually, I am just posting nonsense so I can get this on my "Subscribed" list.

Not being in denial anymore is actually a major step forward in your spiritual journey. You may have been a jerk, and so was I at times but you certainly aren't ignorant. Like is says in Isaiah, "Come now, and let's reason together...line upon line, precept upon precept. A little here, a little there...". Christians take incremental steps forward in a positive direction. I am sure that you have come a long way and probably wouldn't recognize the person that you were 15 or 20 years ago.

I have to admit life is pretty cool at the moment. Until I stop procrastinating and get serious with my finals, that is.
You have ambition, determination and perseverance and these are excellent character traits to get ahead in life. You have many admirable qualities and are also very brave as you always try to press forward despite your trials. You are what I call a 'survivor type'. I don't say that about too many people but you are one of them.

It comes with a price. And I am tired of fighting. One thing that was good to learn this spring, was that both my boss and the union fought for me. Without them I wouldn't have secured my job next fall. I am blessed having people that spoke up for me. I was too worn out to do it myself. Am I a survivor? I don't know. I just fight the fights when they come and play the cards given as best as I can. If Jesus asks me how I have handled the five talents given to me, he can't say I didn't work hard to make use of them. Were they invested wisely? That is still to be seen.

Yeah, fighting can wear you out. You can only struggle so much. Playing the cards given as best as you can do is all God really expects out of anyone. Sometimes though I have asked me to deal me another hand as I felt like folding the one that I was holding.

This morning I erased another couple members from my friends list as part of my editing project. They rarely have posted and there was no interaction between us. There will be a few others as well.

Blaine will remain as one of my honored friends because he is one of the most real persons on this site who has a deep heart and feels the pain of those that are hurting because he has hurt too throughout his life but in spite of this always remains positive and upbeat in any situation or circumstance that he finds himself in.

BillG also stays on the list because he has been a dear friend to me and has overcome much hardship in his life and with the grace of God has become a better man because of it. He is truly inspirational and spiritually edifying for me. He is an outstanding member of our community.

Maybe I should do that too.
My goal is to just have on my friends list those that I truly consider my friends and show an interest in who I am as a person. I also believe that the more fair weather friends that you have diminishes the ones that are truly your friend in good weather or bad.
