Maybe this would be better off in the Ladies forum, but then I came to think of that men also could use a fashion advice or two (some other day, though:p).

Okay, today I’d like to give a shout out for the cowgirls style. This is a heavily underestimated style that should have been brought back to the limelight.

I’ll put up some pics later, but I don’t know to post pictures from this unit.

Anyways, my favorite is a not too dark colored cowgirls hat and a jean jacket. Put on a not too long/not too short skirt (a dress is good too, of course, and will even save you the shirt) and a shirt that’s a bit country, and some light brown cowgirls boots with moderately high heels, and you’re good to go:).

The makeup can be kept to a minimum wearing this outfit. No strong colors, except from maybe the lipstick that can be full red.

Oooh, fun! Can I jump in?

Don't forget to add a detail or two (chunky bracelet, bandana around the neck, western vest, leather belt, string tie...use your imagination). Don't add TOO many details...having all these things tends to look overdone.

Don't wear diamonds and other cut stones! It doesn't give the rugged impression. If you're wearing jewelry, go with metal tones and maybe some turquoise or something faintly westerny like that.

Go with the long-sleeved western shirts. The short-sleeve ones look far less authentic.

I agree with the minimal makeup thing, for sure! I'm not a red lipstick kind of gal, but I like a little black mascara when I dress cowgirl style.

Don't forget your hair! Loose curls look great, or for a less fuss option do one braid. Two braids tends to lookclichéd.

I agree that I-at least-would probably benefit from fashion advice, but I don't think I could do the cowgirl look justice, or even the cowboy look, for that matter.

Totally agree about the braids. Two is like a German October fest;) We don’t want that to interfere with the cowgirls style:p, but it’s perfectly good in Germany, and *blush* it’s a cool outfit too:p. But loose curls looks great under the hat.

I’m not the rhinestone cowgirl type either, that looks like city slickers on the loose lol.

What color is your hair? On me (ginger to strawberry blonde) brown mascara is my daily treat, but black is nice on a Saturday night lol.

City slickers on the loose! lol yes!

My hair...my hair is...my hair is kinda...I think it's...I...hate that question :p. Kinda golden blonde? Ish? It has a lot of different highlights and stuff, so it looks quite different depending on the weather and lighting. I've always used black mascara because all my older sisters are browns or brunettes, and then whoops! Blonde. I never thought about it until I was about 17, and by then I had been wearing makeup for a year and didn't care to switch. But I've always been intrigued by browns or black browns.

I’ll fix him an outfit, but I ain’t gonna tell him whether it’s the cowgirl or cowboy style before he gets to see for himself in the mirror:p.

There’s another style I’m a bit into, and that’s long hippie skirts and shirts:p. And a hat! This outfit can handle both boots and open toed shoes...depending on the season lol. But remember that even though you’re going for the hippie style, don’t overdo it. You don’t need somebody to actually think you ARE a hippie:p. So feel free to add some makeup, no hairy legs, and comb your hair properly:).

Please be aware that the hippie style doesn’t look good on men. It’s a no go zone. Lol:p;).
