Being psamed? I do not know what you mean by that, sorry Becc  Oh the movie The Shining yeah no I could not stand it. The element of the supernatural added a layer to it that made it unbearable for me. I laugh to think to myself, yeah, I only like friendly ghosts, and then my thinking goes to the supernatural and how people think it is harmless to explore and it is all shiny and attractive and draws you in and people get sucked in thinking oh how cool is this when Satan is behind it all deceiving people. Oops. Detour
The four kids and it. "It" being a psammead (spelling corrected). A psammead is a magical creature that (if i remeber correctly) comes out of the ground and grants 3,maybe 4 wishes to the person that finds it or so.
Just checked the author... jacqueline wilson (no surprise there)

I used to be an avid reader and would read a book a week. The last few years I haven't read hardly at all but last year I did manage to read 3 books. I supposed that if I gave up CC for awhile that would free up a large chunk of time to devote to reading again. The thing is I love this site and being with my peeps here.
A book a week is respectable :) I powered the device up before lending it, because it had not been used for years. It was interesting while showing her how it worked, to see the books I had read on it. I put Richard Wagamese's Indian Horse on it for her to read, and recommended a few others that were on it for her also, such as Cutting for Stone by Abraham Verghese, The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver, The Weight of Water by Kathryn Bigelow, and State of Wonder by Ann Patchett. The first book I ever read on the Kindle was Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged; it was my sixth reading of that book. The mistakes in the tech copy were plenteous :p LOL and so bad at times I had to check a PDF version to find out what was really being said

I once downloaded "ub" on my granny's phone but it's not theor now. I don't have a bank account even worse... i don't spend dollars so i had to download free books on my ub shelves and all of stephen kings book were not free except excerpts.

When i had time, a book per week meant i was busy... i usually stayed up late at night to make sure i finished the book in a day except extra large ones.
My biggest book is the talisman.
Have you read/heard the historian by elizabeth kostovan? I read a little then left my mum's place and when i went back there for the holidays it was gone...... i never got to finish it and it still bugs me

We use to have spanish language class in the old days when I was not born yet. I wish they would bring it back. Spanish language is elegant, so is Italian and French. Everything's in europe is really nice and classy.
