benher is promoting a "social gospel" on this forum. If enough people are involved with, "works" at the social level of our community we will rid the world of social "ills"; It took me awhile to understand his position, but this fits in with his world views.
One contradiction after another...........for sure......

I am always sensing that benher is always hiding something and being deceitful.

Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of Him with whom we have to do.

I would not think of replacing the baptism of the HS. I have experienced being born of the spirit. I was also born of the water just like Jesus told us to be.
How has being baptized with the Holy spirit changed your life?

How could someone fake being baptized with the Holy spirit?

And you want to declare the Christian church is one body?
Nope he doesnt,

You are mixing up posters and who said what,

No everyone who claims to be Christian are. Only the ones God has given His holy spirit to.

People may be at a different maturity level but God works His fruit in the hearts of His children, He chastens us when we wander away from His path.He gives us love and comfort when we feel discouraged. he shows us how to get along with our brothers and sisters to do His will upon this earth. He teaches us discernment.

All fluff, does Mailmandan believe that good works will accompany true faith?
The fruit...not the root

He believes all you need is the Root of Jesse to be saved....

Do you agree or do you teach that without fruit (which you claim is good works) you are not saved?

I was just responding to your statement that good works will not cover 1 sin. You were wrong according to Peter.
All the other stuff you brought up was fluff.
What then does the blood of Jesus cover?

I am puzzled at how your lens/veil allows you to see what you want in any scripture you read.,,

Read it again s l o w l y I did not call you blasphemous, but rather to say Christ was not born the son of God until immersion....

Another interesting fact: Jesus NEVER baptized anyone with water.

His disciples did, but he didnt water baptize anyone.

:( Is that really how we're to speak about a brother? Doesn't the word tell us we are to take our issues to them in private first?
What purpose does that observation serve for the greater good of the body of Christ gathered here?

If the HS is indwelling in you, then you are going to be engaged in good works all the time. It is a natural outgrowth of the HS indwelling in you. Am I not right?
No God doesn't work people ragged. You will NOT "be engaged in good works all the time"

There is a reason God says come to me all who WEARY and I will give you rest.

The natural out growth of walking with the Holy Spirit is fruit of live, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, goodness and self control.

It is a state of peace and love that is not a work but an extension of who you are in Christ.

To help others will be as natural as breathing.

To call it work implies you expect to be paid or its a chore or takes effort.

We have tasks, good works God prepares for us to do but not for reward or to earn salvation. Nor do we do it out of fear of punishment but to share the love God has already given us.

Do you understand the distinction?

If grace must go through faith in order to be applied to us then it is not "grace alone". This is simply the proper use of the words you are choosing. In other words you are fighting your own words.

If mankind is given salvation strictly by grace then faith or anything else is not unnecessary. Alone means alone.

JESUS DID IT ALL:

Ephesians 1:4-13 (NRSV)
[SUP]4 [/SUP] just as he chose us in Christ before the foundation of the world to be holy and blameless before him in love.
[SUP]5 [/SUP] He destined us for adoption as his children through Jesus Christ, according to the good pleasure of his will,
[SUP]6 [/SUP] to the praise of his glorious grace that he freely bestowed on us in the Beloved.
[SUP]7 [/SUP] In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace
[SUP]8 [/SUP] that he lavished on us. With all wisdom and insight
[SUP]9 [/SUP] he has made known to us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure that he set forth in Christ,
[SUP]10 [/SUP] as a plan for the fullness of time, to gather up all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth.
[SUP]11 [/SUP] In Christ we have also obtained an inheritance, having been destined according to the purpose of him who accomplishes all things according to his counsel and will,
[SUP]12 [/SUP] so that we, who were the first to set our hope on Christ, might live for the praise of his glory.
[SUP]13 [/SUP] In him you also, when you had heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and had believed in him, were marked with the seal of the promised Holy Spirit;

God bless you for your service to our country.
Thank you tourist, I always like your posts and stop to read them. My wifes home is 300 miles from the Viet-Cambodian border. There is now a modern "Super Highway" all the way through Vietnam going North to China. Most of our enemy contacts were from China. They were supplying troops and supplies to North Vietnam, think about that for a minute or two.

Love the Vietnamese folks a kind and generous people. I see you are 63yrs old, the war ended when you were just 18yrs old. :). keep posting.

God bless you!

Been reading some of this thread, and this is what the Spirit revealed to me in the Word of God...First of all, we are initially saved by God's extended grace. In this grace we are given the Holy Spirit, which is the seal of salvation, and the Spirit of truth so that you can have true saving faith. Our faith through the Spirit is what justifies us as the children of God. The Spirit makes us holy and without blame in the eyes of The Father. God's grace will proceed his Justice for those who love him.

Christ taught the truth. He explained some spiritual principals, and he set an example of the humble love that we can only accomplish through the Spirit. Not even slaves washed their masters feet. That was considered one of the if not the lowliest acts to even think of imposing on another.

He said what he said so that his would have joy, and their Joy would be full. He did what he did to confirm his diet, the one we need to believe in. He gave his life to save all who have faith in him as the Son of God, and the prophesied of Saviour.

Only when one lies fallen in the dust in complete humility can they clearly see that mankind everywhere is not primarily in need of an example, but a savior. I

As a typo master I just wanted to make sure you meant to say "diet"?

I agree with most of what you say..that statement was confusing. Also I would reword the one about washing feet for the lowliest slave was given the task of washing guests feet.
