So I got this call from "career advisor" saying they had jobs for me. They asked what my name was, my zip code, and my email. I gave them that (only an old zip code) and once they hung up I tried to recall and it said the number was not in service. Then I tried to call another line and it was clear it was a recording. So....

I didn't hardly give them any information so hopefully I don't get like my identity stolen or something. But fortunately I have no cards. Still.....

Scams are so prevalent these days; it is clearly a downside to this new-fangled modern technology of ours, which makes it easier for people to perpetrate fraud of all kinds against the unsuspecting. I would advise against giving out any personal information on the phone to unknown callers.

Personally, I would never give out information to an unknown entity that calls suddenly out of the blue. I don't believe that the certain info you provided will lead to identity theft, more likely you will be bombarded with phone calls and emails from the place that called you trying to sell you their services. They certainly do not have any jobs to offer. Be careful in the future. It is best not to give out info period over the phone unless it was a call that you initiated from a company or individual that you know and trust.

NEVER ever give out ANY personal info over the phone. Definitely sounds like a scam to me.

Yeah I'll be more careful. But I have noticed a big big big influx of emails for jobs on that mail so it's possible that it was KINDA legit...?

So, I'm doing some searching of my own, and so far all the info I've found, says that career advisor is most definitely a scam.. :(
