Is using contraceptives a sin against God?

Nowhere in the bible does Jesus say "And thou shalt not use contraceptives!". And on that note nor does he say not to use condoms either.

Well I said there's never a need for contraceptives but that if someone chooses to use them they should look to use what is least invasive and harmful to the body

Someone mentioned learning about a woman’s cycle and contraceptives won’t be needed. The thing is many women have an irregular cycle. Birth control pills help regulate a woman’s cycle.

I agree but I think God can do an even better job if we pray about those things but I think that's what it means by taste and see that the Lord is good meaning we should go to God for those things that we want changed or improved in our lives.

On a more serious note....I think God can do as He wills. Rather we use birth control or not. I also think he expects us to use wisdom and not cause extreme harm to the body....a lot of birth control methods do that. In some cases so does pregnancy...I don't consider this a black and white cut and dry issue. It's a personal matter...and up to personal convinctions as God leads us..

Right there with you, but I certainly hope that this is the sanctification process that we're in and that the refining will occur at some point as God is the one doing it.

It's interesting that most of your (mis)quoted Scripture verses address what women should or shouldn't do. How about accurately quoting what the Bible says to men?

You conclude that contraceptives are against God's will without a single verse to back up your position directly. You're welcome to your opinion, but at present, it seems that's all you have on this matter.

The scripture does not say anything explicit about pedophilia either.

Well, if sin is anything contrary to the will of God then one must consider that contraceptive is not within the will of God since God says children are a gift from Him.

This is the same logic that leads the Church of Christ to avoid the use of musical instruments in worship... if something isn't explicit in Scripture, we have to conclude that it's forbidden.

Here's the logical end of your position: if two people are married, and find themselves in a life situation incompatible with or unwise for having children, they must sin, either by denying each other, foolishly proceeding with having children, or using contraceptives.

I was not referring to "natural family planning" that is generally not regarded as birth control by doctors.
