If one is capable of responding to this question...actually two questions, he will have no prolem understanding the truth on the fabricated issue of the Sabbath of the Lord.

Who gave mankind the Sabbath of the Lor (hint, whose Sabbath is it), and Who designated it to be the Seventh Day?

Man or God?

Who changed the s Seventh Day gift tothe first day of creation day?

Man or God?

Nofurther discussion necessary.

The Sabbath was to commemorate a finished creation.
The first day of the week is to commemorate a finished redemption.

You have to understand something...
God's laws that were obeyed physically under Moses are now obeyed spiritually under Christ. This is why we no longer take adulterers outside the city and stoned them to death, or sacrifice a physically perfect lamb by a high priest, pay for certain things with certain animals instead of money, or perform physical circumcision for religious reasons.

...Or physically rest on a physical day. Our sabbath is now done spiritually, and is called "The peace that surpasses understanding."

(ROMANS 7:1-4)

No contention, no controversy., not from me.

The concept of the op is overall and simple, the Who designates it.....

As for the day of the weekour Savior was risen, this is a tru interrogative.

Answers:

1. Moses

2. Church

----

You have two errors in your question:

A) It was not a change, Sunday is neither a new Sabbath nor its replacement.

B) Sabbath was not given to mankind, but to Israel.

And who said the sabbath was made for man and not man for the sabbath?
Man or God?

It is a personal gift from our Father........He has not changed that status.

Now, stop the contention.

Isaiah 66:23 And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD.

These are His statutes , according to the order of His ruling.

It's a trick question.
How can it be that an honest question which can be easily replied to if reading the Bible is the quickest solution.

Here is the response.

In the Word the only Author of it gave the Sabbath of the Lord.

Nowhere in the Bible has it been amended by the Author, only by conventions of man, and no convention, not even a majority vote will ever change the will of our Father.

What is tricky about that?

how about that new moon festival, though?

why are we ignoring it?

It is true that certain physical observances have been replaced by the 'spiritual in the NT...but you can not spiritualise away a DAY that has its ROOTS in TIME ITSELF....you would have to rip it out of CREATION.
God hallowed and sanctified that particular day/period of time 'in keeping with HIS OWN ETERNAL BEING and a way for man to enter it ! We have to start simple and humble bearing with what GOD has established for our opportunities to JOIN WITH HIM ! What is HOLY to GOD has to become HOLY to Man...or we are not being conformed to HIS IMAGE !

And God ordained his Son m, Jesus to be our ( Jew and gentile) path to salvation. His laws replace the old outdated ones. That includes replacing the sabbath.
Looks like we hit a home run on this thread!!

The first day of the week is to commemorate a finished redemption.
Can't say it any better than this IMO.

The command to observe the sabbath was to teach Israel to know the lord by setting their minds and hearts on the things above by not laboring for the things of this world on the day that commemorates the eternal rest that GOD entered into on the 7th day of creation.

The 1st day is to commemorate the death and resurrection of the lord who has secured eternal rest for everyone and given us his holy spirit as surety of that rest so that all know him in their inward parts. As it is written:

But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. Jeremiah 31:33-34

God is spirit; spirit doesn't rest because He doesn't get tired- And Jesus said to the Pharisees that His Father works on a sabbath.
The rest being spoken about means completion of work and believers enter His rest after completion of salvation work.
The sabbath was made for man and not man for the sabbath- so that we can extend our love to the bond servant/the beasts of burden/ the land by letting them rest on the seventh day and this is love- didn't Jesus say all commandments are about love??

Here is from the Word.

God gave us the Sabbath.

Men changed the Seventh day of creation, that day of rest God gave us to share with Him, to the first day, not God.

All who wish to define the Sabbath beyond what is given us should start a thread on the subject for discussing it here is a hijack.

God works on the sabbath and we also need to work every sabbath. Please move on.

John 5:16 Now because Jesus was doing these things on the Sabbath, the Jews began to persecute Him. 17But Jesus answered them, “To this very day My Father is at His work, and I too am working.”

You have no idea what it means 'rest'

Thanks for proving it was a trick question, or a leading question to continue with your jewish roots dogma,

No one changed the sabbath until sunday, we do not go to church to celebrate the sabaath or the day god rested, we go to celebrate his ressurection (our great salvation)

The sabbath is on saterday, yet paul demanded we not be divisive or judge people over sabbaths, thus why are you judging people (and wrongly i may add)
