"Even those white men." If we're going to be talking about stupid, racism is a place to start, but then again, I'm not a fan of using the word stupid as a derogatory term towards others.
If I understand your question properly (with multiple readings and going through the thread), I suspect you're asking why people go through issues in life, as opposed to not going through those issues? Whether it is for biblical reasons or mental capabilities?
If God did liberate us from such sufferings then it would be a matter of faith. Here we are speaking of God's providence and protection. Then of course there is also persecution, which people can experience to differing degrees depending upon locality. Some more than others, and in different forms. However if we are speaking strictly in terms of food and shelter, God has promises in His word. Blessings and principles to live by. This is a matter of practice, and faith.
God's word says that the issues of life come out of the heart (Proverbs 4:23). So we should guard our hearts. Do not let circumstance change your heart towards the Lord, because He delivers us. He provides. This is important also the words we speak, because again, it reveals what is in the heart. How careless people can be with their words, speaking death and curses instead of life and love, goodness and hope. Words filled with grace and faith.
What can be done, as you asked, is to read God's word, and believe. Pray that the Lord gives you wisdom and understanding.
