1. The believer lays up treasure in Heaven by fruits of righteousness.
2 The believers heart believes unto righteousness.
3 Belief of unrighteousness in another gods treasure.

Philippians 1:9 And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment;
10 That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ.
11 Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.

Romans 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Luke 16:9 And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when ye fail, they may receive you into everlasting habitations.

2 Peter 2:15 Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;

Jude 1:11 Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core.
12 These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;

2 Thessalonian 2:10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Luke 4:5 And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.
6 And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.

This is a general reply to all your posts...

Tithing is of the old covanant, period. It has no place in the new covenant.

Tithing and voluntary giving are not the same thing at all. Conflate them and you will make many errors of interpretation and judgment.

Tithing has nothing to do with laying up treasure in heaven.

Tithing is of the old testament. Tithing has not ended, neither has any part of the law. When God does things, His commandments are everlasting, especially unless it is told that part is no longer necessary, which a man has no authority to refute, unless he can show the words directly.

The rich man lacked one thing, the necessary giving away of all he had, not a choice. Your heart still is where your treasure is, and never will be in both places. We will receive exactly according to our work, because all you do decides all you receive..

Psalm 119:144 The righteousness of thy testimonies is everlasting: give me understanding, and I shall live.

Psalms 111:7 The works of his hands are verity and judgment; all his commandments are sure.
8 They stand fast for ever and ever, and are done in truth and uprightness.

Psalm 119:152 Concerning thy testimonies, I have known of old that thou hast founded them for ever.

Psalm 119:160 Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever.

Ecclesiastes 3:14 I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him.

Matthew 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

Proverbs 24:11 If thou forbear to deliver them that are drawn unto death, and those that are ready to be slain;
12 If thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not he that pondereth the heart consider it? and he that keepeth thy soul, doth not he know it? and shall not he render to every man according to his works?

Job 34:10-12 Far be it from god, that he
should do wickedness, and from the almighty that he should
commit iniquity. For the work of a man shall he render unto
him,and cause every man to
find according to his ways.Yea surely god will not do
wickedly,neither will the almighty pervert
judgement.

Jeremiah 32:19-24 The great,the mighty
God,the lord of hosts is his name, great in council, mighty in
work:for thine eyes are upon all ways of the sons of men:to
give every one according to his ways, and according to the
fruit of his doings

.Isaiah32:8 The liberal deviseth
liberal things, and by liberal things he shall stand

1 John 3:17 But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?
18 My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.

Proverbs 21:13 Whoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be heard.

Proverbs 28:11 The rich
man is wise in his own conceit.but the poor that hath
understanding searcheth him out

Proverbs.28:22 He that hasteth to be
rich hath an evil
eye,and considereth not that
poverty shall come upon him.

The principle of tithing was exampled by Abraham before the old covenant.

Jesus quoted from Malachi yet did not tell us that tithing is a thing of the past and is no longer a principle. Tithing, like all other areas of the bible, can be turned legalistic and that was never it's intent. It is not a law of salvation, never has been.

Consider the tree in the Garden of Eden. God said that Adam and Eve could eat freely of all of the trees (let's just imagine 90%), but that this one tree, the tree of the knowledge of good and evil they are not to partake of (let's just imagine 10%). The point is that We are to enjoy that which God intends for us and to abstain from that which he does not intend for us.

Tithing is a principle that is not about money, but about oh so much more than that.
I have heard it said that "God does not need your money". This is absolutely true, but on the same level as with unforgiveness, the person who wronged you does not need your forgiveness. You forgive somebody and YOU get the most benefit from it. When you exercise discipline in an area of your life, and you choose to bless and to honor God by taking away from yourself and "giving to God" YOU are the one who gets the most benefit from it. This is one of the reasons that God gave us the challenge in Malachi and actually even told us to "Test Him" in this area, to see that He would respond and we would grow and receive benefit from our choices.

A tithe is 10% - that is actually the meaning of the word. It is not a law, it is a principle. Similar to sowing and reaping (which also has not been repealed).

I think it is easier to just hear Christ than peoples ideas. The scribes payed tithes, but they did not fulfill the greater matters of the law. Mercy and judgment and faith, so Gods mercy endures forever, it is far greater than the Pharisees, and in the law of Christ, which is written in the heart by the Holy Spirit, how much does a person feel compelled to give, less or more than the scribes...

Matthew 23:23 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.

Matthew 5:20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousnessshall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Hebrews 7:5 And verily they that are of the sons of Levi, who receive the office of the priesthood, have a commandment to take tithes of the people according to the law, that is, of their brethren, though they come out of the loins of Abraham:

So all are laws, the law of Christ is in bearing one anothers burdens, which means all principles..

Galatians 6:2 Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law ofChrist.

The tithe may be a tenth, now increase it to ten times ten, 00% if you do this..

Mark 12:33 And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.

Jesus spoke to the scribes under the OLD covenant. Christ's death began the NEW covenant. Those who have placed their faith in Christ have no obligation to the OT law; for them, it is fulfilled.

Christians are not required to pay tithes. There are no Levites or priests to receive tithes. Just as Paul explained to the Galatians that both salvation and sanctification are by faith without circumcision, so salvation and sanctification are by faith without tithing.

Do not mix up the two unrelated concepts of old covenant tithing and new covenant giving; they are absolutely distinct. Tithing was a requirement, not an option, and was a set percentage (or count). Giving under the new covenant is based on freedom in Christ; there is no set percentage.

If you believe that Christians must pay tithes, then you must explain why tithing was not included in the Acts 15 list, and why none of the apostles taught it as required in their letters. By the way, "Everyone just knew it" is the wrong answer.

You're suggesting that tithing has not been repealed. That is incorrect. Malachi spoke to those under the old covenant, not the new.

Under the new covenant we are to give cheerfully and not under compulsion; tithing was compulsory, which his why God could rightfully state that Israel was robbing Him. It is not compulsory for Christians, for Christians are not under the Law.

To all readers, consider the principle that Paul taught the Galatians: "If you allow yourselves to be circumcised, you are obligated to obey the whole Law." This applies to tithing as well. The Law is not a buffet, but an all-or-nothing requirement. That includes laws for ritual uncleanness and stoning adulterers. See how that goes over on a Sunday morning.

The OT tithe was not even money per say, But of the crops. Jesus spoke of the pharisee, who tithed of his small herb garden that he planted for the sole purpose of being seen as a man who obeyed the law.

A church who requires a member to tithe has issues, If a member tithes and can afford it, God has blessed him dearly. If not. but the family gives of their heart, God will bless that just as much.

There is a gospel to the uncircumcision and to the circumcision. Christians continue all laws, including circumcision, as we are the circumcision, in putting off the body the sins of the flesh, worshipping God in the spirit, and no confidence in the flesh, and if you are uncircumcised, you break the law, but if you keep the righteousness of the law you are circumcised in the heart, and then you fulfill the law.

Galatians 2:7 But contrariwise, when they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision was committed unto me, as the gospel of the circumcision was unto Peter

Colossians 2:11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of

Philippians 3:3 For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.

Romans 2:25 For circumcision verily profiteth, if thou keep the law: but if thou be a breaker of the law, thy circumcision is made uncircumcision.
26 Therefore if the uncircumcision keep the righteousness of the law, shall not his uncircumcision be counted for circumcision?
27 And shall not uncircumcision which is by nature, if it fulfil the law, judge thee, who by the letter and circumcision dost transgress the law?

Romans 2:12 For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law;
13 (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.
14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:
15 Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)

Now it is the law of Christ, Christ abides a priest forever, naturally still receiving tithes, because they were paid to Him, and we are bought with a price..

Hebrews 7:6 But he whose descent is not counted from them received tithes of Abraham, and blessed him that had the promises.

Hebrews 7:23 And they truly were many priests, because they were not suffered to continue by reason of death:
24 But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood.
25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

Freedom cant be used as malisciousness, it is freedom in Christ, but at the same time, we are servants of Christ., doing what is our duty to do, either obeying Chridst to be HIs disciples, or disobeying and insisting we still do right, as for Acts 15, yes it is a list, and the rest of the list is contained in the Gospel of Christ..

1 Peter 2:16 As free, and not using your liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God.

Luke 17:9 Doth he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded him? I trow not.
10 So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.

Luke 14:16 Then said he unto him, A certain man made a great supper, and bade many:
17 And sent his servant at supper time to say to them that were bidden, Come; for all things are now ready.
18 And they all with one consent began to make excuse. The first said unto him, I have bought a piece of ground, and I must needs go and see it: I pray thee have me excused.
19 And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them: I pray thee have me excused.
20 And another said, I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.
21 So that servant came, and shewed his lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor, and the maimed, and the halt, and the blind.
22 And the servant said, Lord, it is done as thou hast commanded, and yet there is room.
23 And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.
24 For I say unto you, That none of those men which were bidden shall taste of my supper.
25 And there went great multitudes with him: and he turned, and said unto them,
26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.
27 And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.
28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?
29 Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him,
30 Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish.
31 Or what king, going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand?
32 Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an ambassage, and desireth conditions of peace.
33 So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.

I notice Dino when discussing following Christ gives no example of the Gospels, only of giving cheerfully, so we are right when we ignore the entire Gospel of Christ and blindly grab at one scripture and cover our ears to all others. That is the modern twisted way of being "right"

"Galatians: "If you allow yourselves to be circumcised, you are obligated to obey the whole Law." This applies to tithing as well. The Law is not a buffet, but an all-or-nothing requirement. That includes laws for ritual uncleanness and stoning adulterers. See how that goes over on a Sunday morning."

From your own words then. Yes we are obligated to be circumcised in the heart, so we are obligated to fulfill all the law in the heart. Thanks for clarifying from your own words all of that. As for uncleanness, yes we are to have all things clean to us, as for stoning adultarers, we are to do this way instead for Gods judgement..

Luke 11:41 But rather give alms of such things as ye have; and, behold, all things are clean unto you.

Matthew 23:26 Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also.

Romans 12:20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.

The OT tithe was not even money per say, ...
"...if that place is too distant and you have been blessed by the Lord your God and cannot carry your tithe (because the place where the Lord will choose to put his Name is so far away), 25then exchange your tithe for silver, and take the silver with you and go to the place the Lord your God will choose. 26Use the silver to buy whatever you like: cattle, sheep, wine or other fermented drink, or anything you wish. Then you and your household shall eat there in the presence of the Lord your God and rejoice."-Deuteronomy 14:24-26

Exchange your tithe for silver. Then buy whatever you like (steak, chops, wine, etc.) and eat it before the Lord with rejoicing.

I'll attend a church that tithes like that! The Biblical way!

That's right, we are to give an offering to the Lord, not sorrowing at the thought of giving, but a pure offering, and rejoicing to turn to weeping in sorrow

Malachi 2:13 And this have ye done again, covering the altar of the Lord with tears, with weeping, and with crying out, insomuch that he regardeth not the offering any more, or receiveth it with good will at your hand.

Malachi 1:11For from the rising of the sun even unto the going down of the same my name shall be great among the Gentiles; and in every place incense shall be offered unto my name, and a pure offering: for my name shall be great among the heathen, saith the Lord of hosts.

Joel 2:12 Therefore also now, saith the Lord, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning:
13 And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the Lordyour God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil.

James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
9 Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.
10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

Ecclesiastes 7:2 It is better to go to the house of mourning, than to go to the house of feasting: for that is the end of all men; and the living will lay it to his heart.
3 Sorrow is better than laughter: for by the sadness of the countenance the heart is made better.
4 The heart of the wise is in the house of mourning; but the heart of fools is in the house of mirth.

Psalm 126:5 They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.
6 He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.

Luke 6:20 And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed be ye poor: for yours is the kingdom of God.
21 Blessed are ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed are ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh.
22 Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake.
23 Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets.
24 But woe unto you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation.
25 Woe unto you that are full! for ye shall hunger. Woe unto you that laugh now! for ye shall mourn and weep.
26 Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.

Speaking of the old testament and of the Hebrews, they are an example who did not rejoice correctly, they were all left in the wilderness. Could not endure what was commanded, so we fear God greatly, because He is a consuming fire. Tithing is not enough, the new testament excels the old one, does not give less if it so chooses, it gives the same as Christ, it gives its entire life, and, many give nothing, but they also have nothing to say..

Hebrews 12:25 See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven:
26 Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven.
27 And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.
28 Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:
29 For our God is a consuming fire.

James 2:5 Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?
6 But ye have despised the poor. Do not rich men oppress you, and draw you before the judgment seats?
7 Do not they blaspheme that worthy name by the which ye are called?
8 If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:
9 But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.
10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
11 For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.
12 So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.
13 For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment.
14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,
16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

There is a gospel to the uncircumcision and to the circumcision. QUOTE]

If you're claiming that there are two different gospels, that is incorrect. There is one gospel. Paul preached the one gospel to the uncircumcised, and Peter preached the one gospel to the circumcised.

As to the rest, giving long quotations of Scripture without direct, relevant application is going to result in your posts not being read.

Interpreting any verse or passage correctly requires understanding its context. The Law is not the Gospel, and the Gospel is not the Law. The Law did not point us to Christ so that we could follow the Law. It pointed us to Christ because only in Christ can we be righteous before God.

I recently heard a sermon on tithing at a Reformed Baptist Church, where I have applied for membership.
The pastor made it clear that we are all to tithe because that's what God wants us to do. He said, if we don't give generously of our finances that God will not bless us.
He presented many Bible verses showing that it is Biblical and that God expects us to obey it.
We can't claim to be believers, then only pick and choose the parts of the Bible that suit our lifestyle and ignore the parts we don't like.
Below is a link listing 20 Bible verses showing that tithing is something all of Gods people must do if we are to be obedient to His Word

https://echurch.com/20-bible-verses-about-tithing/

I know that nobody will argue with Gods Word, so this is only a reminder of our obligation to tithe. I will say in advance that anyone who tries to argue against it is arguing against sound Biblical teaching
***I have been a Christian for over 40 years. I have tried tithing and not tithing and found God's Word to be true. Part of the blessing of tithing is the things God does for us we can not even see like rebuking the devourer (the devil). Many people will try to distract you from tithing, but it is a good starting point, for if they gave 10 percent under the law it is certainly a greater blessing to be under Grace. The trend these days is for God's people to misuse Grace and try to be underachievers instead of overcomers---finding Grace to help in time of need (not just for our sins).

You do realize that OT tithing was fundamentally an income tax? There was no secular government. The priests functioned as governors, judges, medical staff and a charity. The tithes supported all that, just as modern income taxes do.

Tithing has nothing to do with voluntary giving. The two are not synonymous. Tithing is of the OT Law and is not required of Christians.

I don't want anyone to read the long lists of quoted scripture, they back up what I say, it is enough.

I spoke as the scripture said, the Gospel to the uncircumcision and the Gospel to the circumcision, Gentiles and Jews, it is self explanatory.

The law is what it says it is, Gods judgements, statutes, all of righteousness. Also what is all scripture? It is instruction in righteousness, and in our heart, faith, is to believe in righteousness..

How can the law not point us to Christ, when the law is written in our heart, the law is not gone away, the law has become within us..

Deuteronomy 4:8 And what nation is there so great, that hath statutes and judgments so righteous as all this law, which I set before you this day?

Romans 2:29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.

Isaiah 42:21 The Lord is well pleased for his righteousness' sake; he will magnify the law, and make it honourable.

Hebrews 8:9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.
10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:
11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.

2 Timothy 3:15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

I give lists of scripture, you give your own words, Christ is the word, your word is not Christ. You still have nothing to say, here is your wisdom, if you cant begin to obey God and speak as oracles of God..

1 Peter 4:11 If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Job 13:5O that ye would altogether hold your peace! and it should be your wisdom.

Ecclesiastes 5:5 Keep thy foot when thou goest to the house of God, and be more ready to hear, than to give the sacrifice of fools: for they consider not that they do evil.
2 Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter any thing before God: for God is in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few.

Tithing is not required of Christians, it was OT law. What is required of the lukewarm Christians is to do much less. What is required of the hot Christians, is to lose their life to find it again. Definately not as the Jews would say, to tithe, or to disobey God and be cast away, and not as the modern seducers especially, who say to do even less than the ones who were cast away. But, do as Jesus says, Luke 14:16-33 Mark 10:18-30, unless you forsake all you have you cannot even be His disciple. Should hear God or man, let all decide..

Matthew 10:39
He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.

Matthew 16:25
For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.

Matthew 19:29
And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.

Mark 8:35
For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it.

Luke 9:24
For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.

For all the non tithing rich men,

James 5:1 Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you.
2 Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are motheaten.
3 Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days.
4 Behold, the hire of the labourers who have reaped down your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, crieth: and the cries of them which have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of sabaoth.
5 Ye have lived in pleasure on the earth, and been wanton; ye have nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter.
6 Ye have condemned and killed the just; and he doth not resist you.

1 Timothy 6:17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;
18 That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;
19 Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.

Yes, you said it right enough, they don't know what it means to overcome this world, but guaranteed, the over comers do all there is to do, and the ones who fail did the least, or did even nothing, and believed their increased goods came from God, and didn't know it was the devil, the devil does not want people to pay all they can to the poor, he says don't need to tithe, which in a real Christian sense, is to give and give spare not....

Revelation 3:15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

Luke 6:38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

Proverbs 12:10
A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.

Mark 8:33
But when he had turned about and looked on his disciples, he rebuked Peter, saying, Get thee behind me, Satan: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but the things that be of men.

So the life does not consist of what you possess, it consists of what you do not possess, so many warnings, and so many who ignore them..

Luke 12:15 And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.
16 And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:
17 And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits?
18 And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.
19 And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.
20 But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?
21 So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.
22 And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on.
23 The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment.
