When push comes to shove, there is no way to define normal because "normal" is based on each individual's subjective opinions rather than an objective baseline. "Normal" is going to look very different from one culture to the next.

What? You never wanted to pet a whale??
My daughter and I petted a dolphin once at Sea World in Orlando. Shamu was a riot also, he jumped in the air about 20 feet and the splash rained down one everyone watching. Went snorkeling with sharks at Typhoon Lagoon in Walt Disney World but didn't pet any.

That's awesome!! :D I went to sea world when I was a kid and saw shamu too, but we were too far up to get splashed on. Didn't see any dolphins or sharks though :(

I think its so sad that they are getting rid of shamu and his friends forever :( All because of that movie blackfish.

Yes it's sad. Those orcas were amazing. They would lift the trainers into the air by the tip of their nose and jump through hoops and roll over and beg like doggies, etc... and they were almost as big as a house. The kids today will never see anything like it. :(

Just what is normal? If I met somebody who was truly normal, would that be normal or weird?

Is "normal" a matter of what the majority is doing? Being pro-gay seems to be popular these days. Does that make it normal?

If there was a row of four soda vending machines and three were out of order, would out-of-order be normal? Is normal something that should be fixed, left alone or sought?

What would a really normal person be like? Would it be a person who wraps himself in the ever-shifting standards and opinions of society and is very careful to always do and think what the majority does and thinks? Would that be normal?

I have to ask this because I started thinking about theanointedsinner's post and I have become convinced that if I ever met a true "normal" person I would find him very, very weird.
I think "normal" is someone who lives as the Bible says. The rest is different. Just because something is the majority does not make it normal. And yes, us guys who live the "normal" life are always found to be weird. We are fine with it because we think the rest of you are :)

Yes I understand. And a lot of people blame Sea World, but if they were to build big enough tanks and spend enough on maintenance and equipment and staff, they'd probably have to charge everyone 4 times as much for admission.... maybe even more than that.

Yes I did. :( I remember that Sea World did increase the size of the tanks and also did more training and took some dangerous stunts out of the show, but it wasn't enough to appease the protestors. :( I was really shocked to find out that Tilikum was the same whale I saw when I was a kid. (I visited Sea World again in 2010)

Wow.. Guess when trainers die cuz lack of knowledge bout the whales history..frustration from being hurt every night by other whales and only getting out for a short period of time every day....makes that time bomb situation a no win for ANY trainer and im sure thier ins went through the roof..however if seaworld had done things at the VERY begining or taken responsibilty at the very begining instead of making excuses..might have been different...imagine being in a small room ..dark..with 20 women who are all PMS ing at the same time etc..and you couldnt get out..how would you feel? Lol
