We should all find a spouse. Sure. Problem is, there is usually a lot more people we would like to marry, than would like to marry us.
You for yourself

It's an internet forum. People are here cause they lack options.

Woah Tommy.

I was trying to be funny given your quote above.
As in speak for yourself, as in more people want to marry me than I want to marry (as I'm married it is past tense)

I have obviously failed and I certainly have not meant any harm or distress to anyone here.

Sorry

They might as well masturbate. Most dudes on an internet forum, all the time, will never know the warmth of a woman. They are too scared to ask one out on a date, let alone marry one.
If masturbation is a sin, maybe they should do what Jesus said in Matthew ch 19, and become eunuchs. That is, if they can't control themselves.

I'm tired of wanker threads. This is why I dig up old threads. Why repeat the same thing, over and over. Look back a few pages, you'll probably find what you're looking for.

That being said, since pornography gets brought into this, I got something to say, in case their are people here who don't find a biblical reason not to consume it.

I know technically, all the porn sold at the gas station magazine rack, or filmed in Van Nuys is supposedly legit, and all those featured in it is there by their own accord, but they are exploited nonetheless. You got to understand the abuse most those females suffered to get them on film, having relations with a stranger. Growing up mentally, physically, sexually abused. Treated like a semen dumpster by people in their lives, that were supposed to love them the most. Some learn from their own fathers, that their value is in the sexual pleasure they can give a man.

Look at their bios on Google. A lot runaway as teens, show up in Southern California with an ID saying they're 18, and the abuse and exploitation continues. They are a fresh face, until 6 months later, they are used up and doing scenes with Ron Jeremy for $200 a day. They stay high all the time, addicted to drugs.

Laws have been repealed or left unenforced. It wasn't that long ago, the LAPD kept libraries of pornography, just to help identify runaways. They made Dragnet episodes about it.

Then there are the ones that have a loving family. But for whatever defect in their mind, go off to this industry. Remember that those females on your phone, may have a father with an aching heart somewhere. I know one right close to me.

Y'all should watch some documentaries. I watched the 'After Porn' one on streaming. It has some graphic scenes, but you can tell that these retired porn stars are suffering. A lifetime of never being able to make a connection with anyone.

All this barely scratches the surface of the nefarious world of pornography. I know there are ministries trying to recover people from the porn industry, but this is also an issue for secular society as well. Western Society is at stake. People of the younger generations are finding satisfaction from their computing device, and never forming romantic relationships with real people. The birth rate is dropping. there are dangerous people in this world, who have no problem making babies though.

And something else, I found an old thread awhile back. It proposed the question: Does masturbating to the thoughts of another, real life person, like someone you met, or went on a date with; is it paramount to rape? I think there may be something to that also.

I was told once by a preacher, there are two ways to look at a woman. one is as a beautiful rose, pleasing to the eye, attractive and enjoyable to see. second is like a tall cold glass of water on a hot day, refreshing and satisfying. You decide.
in Christ name, Amen
there's nothing wrong with a beautiful rose, it's delightful

however, a tall cold glass of water, this would really risk sinning, as in ...

am I understanding this correctly?

Hi Dpecheur10,

I am interested in what you said in Post 39 because I know it is a common problem, and not often talked about.

This is not a favorite subject of mine but I worked for some years as a teacher and counsellor in a Christian Rescue Mission, with recovering alcoholics and drug addicts. After some came to accept Christ and we were teaching them the Scriptures, there were many questions for discussion.

You said, quote: “I want love. It's the only thing I want from this life.--- But a life without any love, it's pretty sad and depressing.” --- “But what's killing me inside is the loneliness. The lack of connection. The lack of possibilities.”

Somebody said, “There are three things we need in life: Something to do, someone to love, and something to hope for.”

If you are able bodied, you are no doubt working, but perhaps at a job that is not too stimulating, if there is an overriding obsession with something else. --- (Something to do)

And as a Christian, we have the hope of eternal life, but if we don’t have the ‘joy of the Lord’to sustain us, --- we may feel little comfort from a hope, which is far off. --- (Something to hope for)

So it comes to love, relationship, interaction with others, on the level of friendship. --- (Someone to love)

Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 7:1 “Now concerning the things of which you wrote to me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman.
2 Nevertheless, because of sexual immorality, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband.

(And the ideal marriage is one man and one woman for one lifetime.)
But we don’t live in an ideal world. So we will check some options next.

Matt 5
27 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’[e] 28 But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.29 If your right eye causes you to stumble, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. 30 And if your right hand causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell.

That is what Jesus says about it...

.

It's all in your mind and in the way you yourself personally interpret the
Bible. If you think it's a sin to watch porn, then for you it is definitely sin.

Rom 14:14 . . To him who thinks anything to be unclean, to him it is
unclean.

Rom 14:23 . . If you do anything you believe is not right, you are sinning.

NOTE: Beware judging others according to your own personal values
because that would be usurping Christ's sovereign right to make the rules.
_
maybe another way to look at porn or any other activity would be to say to yourself " would i look at this (or listen to this music, or do this)in heaven with the father and son watching me ? the question i have presented will answer itself in our minds when you look at it hard. god gave us a conscience as a moral compass to guide us thru our mortal life on earth and the holy ghost conviction to keep us on track. just wondering, has anyone out there had/has this same belief?
