well ...like before any gift
you must first decide you want the gift

then you say you want the gift
jump through a few gimme my gift hoops

do at least the main two gift cerimonies your fathers did

then make sure you always continue to decide to hold on to this gift you have been rewarded with... for your efforts... by your power

oh, I'm sure once social media (including secular) see this, none of them will have blank stares at this *insert sarcasm here*

oh right, and everyone will fall at the feet of Jesus, bow on their knees and confess with their tongues that Jesus is Lord, because of that one post

oh, I'm sure of it *insert sarcasm here*

"insert religious platitude"

With God all things are possible ( especially for the non-predestinarian)

how do they hope to get assurance? if not eternal, do they keep bugging their pastor "am I still saved" temporary assurance? I hate to be their pastor, unless if the pastor is getting paid  so that's why, for money :eek::eek:
Make no mistake...he will boast of all he has done in his Presbyterian religion and his Catholic creed that he elevates above the bible

It is obvious to the casual observer that you are unable to understand plain English and ignore both James 2 and Matthew 7 quoting Jesus. In effect you are calling Jesus a liar.
Salvation plan from the Bible. Refute it.
We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus.
Where is works in that statement??
The issue as stated by James and Jesus is we are known by our fruit (works).
James states faith without works is dead.
Jesus states a tree is known by its fruit. Good fruit doesn't come from a bad tree.

Are you calling Jesus a liar??? That is partly where I get the concept from.
I suggest you read all related scripture. Get an exhaustive systematic theology book in order to read every verse related to any topic. Without that you are tilting at windmills.
The bolded above, is that more of your Presbyterian Catholic works that proves your saved....or was it the original lie that I keep skipping over James?

You have stated repeatedly faith without works is dead.
Therefore one needs works to be saved so that one's faith is not dead?
Are you changing your argument?
He states he does not teach that and then turns around and teaches that one MUST HAVE WORKS or they are not saved or lose their salvation...he is the epitome of fickle....!!

Did you bother to read the verses I quoted from James 2 and the quote of Jesus in Matthew 7? Argue with James and Jesus.

"Faith without works is dead" is a quote from James 2.
"By their fruits you shall know them" is a quote of Jesus in Matthew

Do you really think you have made a case when two lines are taken out of their historical and textual context?

Scripture also says "women will be saved in childbirth", so can I extract this line and make a doctrine out of it and tell women to have children so they will be saved.

The entire letter of James can only be understood within the historical context, knowing his audience, the culture, the meaning of the words as it relates to the culture, and outside of the 21st century mindset which is usually the biggest pitfall of all.

When you refuse to look at this then I cannot take your argument seriously.

The fact he elevates a Catholic creed above the bible tells me all I need to know about any argument he makes...........and I fully agree with your assessment....James does not teach a works based salvation and the comparison is not made against saving faith, but rather a mere assessement of belief comparable to the same belief a devil might have that God is real....of course they know he is real, but they have not had FAITH INTO THE WORK OF CHRIST for salvation....

I remember benhur answered to two of my hypothetical question about railroad spike, or amnesia or alzehimers, and say that "God will judge", does judge in this context mean "condemn", is this what benhur is trying to insinuate?

His line of thought vacillates more than the waves on Bondi Beach in Sydney and too be honest, 90% of the time I do not even pay attention to what he states because he is wrong the majority of the time...I would have to look back to see what he was implying migo..

19Go ye therefore, and TEACH ALL NATIONS, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 TEACHING THEM TO OBSERVE ALL THINGS WHATSOEVER I HAVE COMMANDED YOU: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

OUR LORD JESUS BEFORE GOING BACK TO THE FATHER INSTRUCTED HIS DISCIPLES TO TEACH OBEDIENCE UNTO ALL NATIONS.

IF ANYONE WOULD TEACH THAT OBEDIENCE TO GOD’S WORD, TEACHINGS, LAWS AND COMMANDS, IS NOT NECESSARY OR PART OF SALVATION, DOES HE NOT TEACH CONTRARY TO THE LORD’S TEACHINGS?

WHEN THE LORD SAID THAT “IF YOU WANT TO ENTER LIFE, OBEY THE COMMANDMENTS”, AND SOMEONE ELSE WOULD SAY THAT OBEDIENCE TO GOD WILL NOT SAVE ANYONE BECAUSE “FAITH ALONE SAVES”. IS IT NOT A CLEAR REJECTION, NULLIFICATION, DISRESPECT, DISOBEDIENCE, UNBELIEF AND MOCKERY OF GOD’S WORD?

15Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled. 16They profess that they know God; BUT IN WORKS THEY DENY HIM, being abominable, and DISOBEDIENT and unto every good work reprobate.

4For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, TURNING THE GRACE OF OUR GOD INTO (A LICENSE FOR) LASCIVIOUSNESS, and DENYING the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

...Teaching for doctrines the commandments of men….Full well ye reject the commandment of God... making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.(mark 7:6-13)

...because they have cast away the law of the LORD of hosts, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.(isaiah 5:20-24)

...Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the CHILDREN OF DISOBEDIENCE.(ephesians 5:6)

...Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. 8For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. 9And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. 10As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.(galatians 6:7-10)

32who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

MAN GOT SEPARATED FROM GOD BECAUSE OF THE SIN OF DISOBEDIENCE WHEN MAN WAS DECEIVED BY THE SERPENT WHO SAID THAT “...Ye shall not surely die.”(genesis 3:4)

a new thread idea ...

works only demonstrates salvation

the same way, the color blue, only demonstrate that the sky is day time
and the color black, only demonstrate that the sky is night time

these colors don't make day or night, they only demonstrate
the same way works only demonstrate salvation

More proof you lack understanding of true believers, the types of works and fruit they will ALL POSSESS and the fact that saved people can and do wander, produce bad works and fruit on occasion and still remain eternally secure....more working for I keep myself saved drivel.....!!
d...,

That IS drivel........because it is not scriptural.

What you mean is they can become secure again...right?

No worries this thread is here for the duration, I am thinking even after the rapture if I believed in such an event ;)
The Calling Out of the Bride of Christ, is guaranteed to happen. I do not like the term Rapture, after the cults and people like Harold Camping totally distorted it.
