I read your answer to my question.

You answered saved, to this question -

Is a sheep that wanders away and becomes lost, saved or unsaved?

Those who promote OSAS must deceitfully "redefine" biblical words.

You claim a lost sheep is saved.

In your mind, lost = saved.

You have exchanged the truth for a lie.

JPT
John 10:26-28
26 But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.
27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

I think those who say that a person can lose their salvation have exchanged the truth for a lie.

The re-define thing though its not really re-defining. Its either your carnal mind interpreting wrong or it is revealed to you by the Holy Spirit. Once it is revealed to you it is really easy to spot when someone is interpreting wrong by their carnal understanding.

It's Biblical Truth, that totally and completely shows that OSAS is a doctrine of demons from hell.

It's up to us, to do the work of bringing the lost back to repentance.

“What do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them goes astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine and go to the mountains to seek the one that is straying? And if he should find it, assuredly, I say to you, he rejoices more over that sheep than over the ninety-nine that did not go astray. Even so it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish. “Moreover if your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have gained your brother. But if he will not hear, take with you one or two more, that by the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.’ And if he refuses to hear them, tell it to the church. But if he refuses even to hear the church, let him be to you like a heathen and a tax collector.
Matthew 18:12-17

  • If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them goes astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine and go to the mountains to seek the one that is straying?
  • And if he should find it, assuredly, I say to you, he rejoices more over that sheep than over the ninety-nine that did not go astray.

Jesus defines the steps to take, to go after a person who has sinned against you to get them to repent:

  1. Moreover [likewise] if your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone.
  2. If he hears you, you have gained your brother.
  3. But if he will not hear, take with you one or two more, that by the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.’
  4. And if he refuses to hear them, tell it to the church. But if he refuses even to hear the church, let him be to you like a heathen and a tax collector.

James says it this way -

Brethren, if anyone among you wanders from the truth, and someone turns him back, let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and cover a multitude of sins.
James 5:19-20

  • Brethren, if anyone among you wanders from the truth
  • and someone turns him back
  • let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way
  • will save a soul from death

He has finished the work that the Father sent Him to do. LOL!!!

Who said anything about seething anger? LOL

Not only do you make the Lord impotent and incompetent, but you refuse to acknowledge that He is going to look for HIS UNTIL they are found.

You, and others, also negate the fact of the NEW birth. How monstrous a claim it is that the Lord will not find His Children that are lost. What kind of a Father would do that?

Sheep who "hear" [meaning hear and obey] His Voice, are those who follow Him, and do not become lost.

I have asked this question for those who promote OSAS.

Is a sheep [born again Christian] who wanders away and becomes lost, saved or unsaved, just or unjust, sinner or saint?

“What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it? And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!’ I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.

  • What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them
  • Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!

Jesus uses the parable of the lost sheep to describe a reality among His people.

Jesus explains the parable of the sheep and correlates it to actual people in verse 7.

Matthew's version shows us what Jesus taught about dealing with such a person, and in context shows us the principle of forgiveness and unforgiveness.

“What do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them goes astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine and go to the mountains to seek the one that is straying? Where does that leave you?

Lost can be used to designate eternally lost.

Lost can be used to designate misplaced.

Lost can be used to designate without hope of restoration.

Sheep is used to designate believers.

Goats is used to designate unsaved people or nations.

Which brings us back to where does it leave you? Sheep hear His voice. Goats do not hear. Sheep respond and goats rebell.

Your last sentence doesnt make sense according to you thought process.."for one sheep to be lost it must first belong to the shephard"..if you say "lost" is sin..not saved...how can they belong to the shephard FIRST.. Repentance..salvation ..THEN we are His sheep

Unless you can demonstrate that the sheep changes to a goat then the sheep is still a sheep and still saved.

It never ceases to amaze me how the people who attack the OSAS doctrine the most are those who teach salvation by works. ALL false religions and cults that teach salvation by works strongly disagree with OSAS. Don’t know about you, but that is certainly a red flag for me! ;)

All false religions and cults that teach grace is a license to sin strongly disagree with anti-OSAS. Don't know about you, but that is certainly a red flag for me!

See how unfair your reasoning is? I know that you don't think grace is a license to sin so why is it fair for me to question your 'once saved always saved' doctrine just because false believers who think grace is a license to sin flock to it like bugs to a porch light? I would expect the same courtesy be extended to me, who, as you know, doesn't teach salvation by works, yet doesn't believe in 'once saved always saved'.

Remember, Christianity isn't about who has the most accurate doctrine. It's about who is going to act like Christ.

I am not osas , so, i am not coming from that mindset. the lost sheep is a saved soul that has strayed from the Shepherd , but as roger says, it is still a sheep. it is still saved, even though it may have strayed.

as long as the sheep still acknowledges that the Shepherd is Lord and Savior , it is still part of the flock. now, as I said, if the sheep were to look at the shepherd and say " you are no longer my leader, I go my own way ", then that is outright rebellion , and the sheep is no longer saved if it keeps that mindset.

you see, the truth is, no matter how you try to deceive and spin, we are saved by faith and belief in Christ, not by command keeping and doing good works.

What is monstrous is to sit back and watch people wander away and become lost and do nothing to turn them back!

  • I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.

A Christian who wanders away and becomes lost is no longer justified [declared right with God], and has returned to being a sinner in need of repentance, or remain lost.

Found = Reconciled to God: Justified - Declared to be right with God.

Lost = Seperated from God. Unjust. Unrighteous. A Sinner in need of repentance.

Thank you very much for the clarity. You truly believe it is YOU that has to retrieve a lost sheep. While it is certainly true we may be USED by the Lord to accomplish that, it is vital we understand and acknowledge that it is the LORD that will draw him back and retrieve him.

I think where you are going radically astray, one might even say lost, is that you think Jesus is just hanging out chatting with His Dad on the Throne in Heaven, content to just watch what happens, instead of being active in all things related to His sheep.
